I think, to my ears, it just sounds a bit over-articulated and overly deep. That might be because I've heard them speak naturally so I'm biased that way. Otherwise, you're right, it just sounds like a regular American accent 😂😂
Now I'm curious what a Brit imitating an American doing a British accent sounds like.
@@Malhaloc watch House. The main character is played by a British actor and in one episode he imitates a very bad English accent.
As an American it sounds really weird, like every single syllable is being enunciated. Just a totally unnatural way of speaking.
My favorite part of this is the fact that Laura can't handle speaking in her normal voice. "Thank you" and starts laughing. It's just her voice! VO actors are silly.
How did Laura keep it together with "tongues on Jester."
Yea but you have you heard Americans trying to speak english accent? Now thats a treat.
I Doo sAy good sir, this Tea is POsitively smAshing!
Double points if it's anything but a London/RP accent
@@defaultthedude Bloody hell, this tea has got me chuffed to bits! Unlike the tea I had yesterday which was absolute pants
StealthyTNT How Dare you say my Trouble’s tea is awful. You better leave my mincers or I swear upon the Queen I will put you in a loo, honking nothing but blood!
Oi lads, God save the queen!
Exactly how i would do an american accent. Monotone, relaxed, putting stresses on nouns. Adding some extra R's on waterrrr and hamburgerrrr.
Would love if someone who speaks fluent German would translate what this sounds like in German.
So, you want a word for word translation of what they’re saying or something along those lines? I could give you one if you want.
@@toschiworlds7212 Yes please!!
@@HenhousetheRed So after Caleb has cast the spell, the dialogue goes something like this
Caleb: Verstehst du was ich gerade sage? (Do you understand what I'm saying right now?)
Jester: Was zur Scheiße? Was ist mit deinem Akkzent passiert? (What the shit? What happened to your accent?)
C: Ich habe keinen Akkzent. Das ist fehlerfreies Zemnisch. (I don't have an accent. This is flawless Zemnian.)
J: Heißt das, dass ich Zemnisch spreche? (Does that mean I'm speaking Zemnian?)
(Later)J: Ich spreche grade Zemnisch. Kannst du mich verstehen, Fjord? (I'm speaking Zemian right now. Can you understand me, Fjord?)
And after that they slip back into normal dialogue with the group as far as I can tell. Tell me if I missed a line, please.
You would need someone with a real German accent to speak Caleb's part and someone with a real American accent to speak Jester's part, yes?
@@toschiworlds7212I would have translated "what the shit?" with "was zum Fick?", but other than that, you beat me to it xD
As an Aussie, to me their “fake American” accent just sounds like their normal voice but slowed down 😅
We used to do the opposite of this; we all knew some Southern dialect from our world & when we ended up in Sigil would use it to communicate "surreptitiously" & signal it by dropping into an exagerated twang. Fun times.
this is hilarious. thanks for making this video!
American voice actors doing british voice actors doing an american accent. 😂
I like how I, as a non-native English speaker, cannot hear the difference between the "fake" American accent and their actual accents.
As a native English speaker with a rather "standard" American accent...I can't really tell either. I mean, they are speaking with a little more emphasis on the words than normal and so it sounds a little forced and stilted but I'm not sure I would really notice it as strange in a normal setting. Maybe if they gave a long monologue like that I would think something was a little off but that's probably it. I'd quickly dismiss it as just being how they talk. There are enough variations in American accents here for it to be plausible and sometimes even my "unaccented" american accent slides around.
As a german/austrian im going to miss the german influence of Campaign 2, and that one of the cast played a german ( zemnian ) character.. now as someone actually living in Austria, C3 needs their own Schwarzenegger.
She inhabits the same linguistic value as Emily Axford... 2:05... 1:44 ... 1:51
this was best campaign by far 3 and 1 are fantastic but 2 was perfect to me
Me, from Baltimore: Yeah, that sounds bout right.
she gets through the mike so much clearer with that accent XD
Liam does a terrific Benedict Cumberbatch impression here
Legitimately does sound like a British to American accent
"I'll use my credit card" vibes
Gosh darn it I am too tired I just read Jester as "Jeeter" and asked "who the fudge is Jeeter???!" When I'm already all caught up
I love this scene but the 5e spell nerd in me has to mention the fact that technically Jester isnt speaking Zemnian as the Tongues spell lets every creature the speaks a language understand what you are saying in any language you speak, it does not let you speak other languages its like a Babel fish that works both ways.
Can anyone you speaks zemnian translate what jester was saving to Ford?
Ich spreche jetzt gerade zemnisch (not too sure what Zemnian would be in German but thats my best guess), kannst du mich verstehen, Fjord? At least thats how I'd translate it
Yes my comandant 👌💣💫
Widojest was strong this episode
THIS SCENE IS SOOOO COOL!
Siri, set an alarm for 6:55 tonight.
I am an American human, please provide me with typical human nourishment.

"Sounds like a british person trying to do an american accent."
Ahem... I'm watching thru campaign 1 for the first time, I'm caught up with campaign 2. I know they're good actors, but DAMN do they sound so much like american people trying to do several british accents at one.
Like how they say caaar-stle. It hurts my soul.
Grog has the most consistent accent, methinks.
This campaign, totally different... * looking at taliesin. then looking at fjord. then looking at nott. *
totally different.
wait, did they ever act like their accent work is flawless? O_o they constantly give each other shit for it.
the comment about British people doing an american accent is not a dig, just a funny observation
Nobody going to mention their attempts at an accent in C1...
That's a cute widojest moment.
TunerFall121 I love this so much!
lmfao i want caleb and jester to be a thing so bad. it would be just so funny to watch how awkward it would be. true awkward though, not like keyleth and vax awkward, but true teenage era awkward.
It would be like the level of romance found in the journals of preteen girls or in badly written porn books.
@@chromegaman but tusk love is a half-orc and tiefling romance, not a human and tiefling romance. ;)
This is funny to me for another reason, in the new Pokemon series Ash had a slowking’s crown on his head and started speaking “engish” so like caleb not having an accent I think all Pokemon speak English but humans in the Pokemon world can’t understand it lol
30% of this comment section are English people being offended at Travis' offhand joke and trying to imply that the cast's C1 English accents (and Fjord) are bad. There, saved you guys a trip.
Can't say I'm surprised, the English get so pissy for everything.
@@ElliWoelfin If you’ve watched a ton of American media where every joke about where you’re from is an outdated, mean-spirited stereotype (this video notwithstanding), you’d be hostile too.
i love how every now and then a BIT of Yasuo creeps out of Caleb
Woah woah woah Sam, pretty sure Americans trying to do a British accent is a lot more common than the inverse
To all the brits saying their "British Actors Trying to do an American accent" accents just sound like regular American accents: they do. Those are passable American accents. Whats funny is the tendency of non-American actors to suck all emotion and flavorful pacing out of their lines when doing American accents. The stilted monotone is usually a telltale sign that the actor is not actually American.
Diese Kommentarsektion ist nun Eigentum der BRD.
Not this time, friend.
“I’m an American fighter pilot that is eating a cheeseburger.”
Lol they say her accent is like a English person doing a American accent yet all of them are there doing terrible English accents.
I am british and I sound exactly like this doing an american accent but worse.
Yet another Caleb X Jester moment to go into the ship.
god I miss Travis, Laura, and Sam. Not complaining about the new season mind you, I just miss them.
feel like it has to be explained a little. the reason Caleb speakiny zemnian sounds like him in "regular" is because of the spell. everyoneelse would hear perfect Zemnian (german) and she would hear in her native tongue (since the actors are American they use American accent).
Actually that's how he and Matt flavored it it's happened before it's not because of the spell he's speaking that way because of the spell to prove to Jester it worked.
they sound normal to me
i laughed so fucking hard at this moment.
