I've had a '11 Ford Escape 6v xlt in Gray since 2012. Bought it because back then I needed to carry strollers, car seats, etc. I'm 5'1" and this car seats high to aid in visibility. Husband is 5'10" and is a little tight for him, but loves to get into garage and tight parking spaces, which is a challenge with his F150 truck. There's enough space in the back to carry both of my kids' bikes, 20", 16", and two maltipoos. The back seats completely come off & have removable upholstery! Seats look in great condition after 8 years. Was involved in car accident in 2013, air bag deployed, my 18 mo and I were not hurt & vehicle was repaired. Now 2020, I was crashed into front tire and insurance will not pay to repair. New Escapes are ugly and less spacious. Miss this little SUV.

I use only 5 qrts of oil. otherwise its over fill on the dipstick even after you run it.Res. oil still in there.5 qrts puts it exactly on the fill line on mine. Also have a strange sound for a second around 15 speed from a stop been there for 2 years nobody knows what it is.Can feel the knock on the gas pedal, very slight.

Give it time. Mine is a 6 cyl 2009. Had it from new. Cost me a lot of money to keep this thing going.Air conditioning cost 3000 over 10 years, Hinges for back glass rotted away 2 years ago, broken windshield washer bottle 2 years ago, leaking rear diff 3 years ago, leaking rocker cover gasket 2 months ago[ 1800 dollars ], rusted out rear wheel wells 1500 to fix, waiting for the electric steering module to go next 1500. Too bad because I liked the vehicle but Ford dropped the ball on this one. I currently have 210000 kms which is 130000 miles. If I survive this COVID 19 virus im going to buy a 2015 RX350 Lexus. Should of bought Toyota from the start

Shouldn't of bought a V6. The 4 cylinder ones are much more reliable, and easier to work on (if you have to). It's a Mazda engine, so your getting Japanese reliability. There's still Escapes being used as New York Taxi cabs, and they have been proven to be very reliable. Most have over 300K miles!

@@Joshtheweatherman 4. Cylinders still rusted out and had air conditioning problems not to mention you couldn’t tow anything with a 4 cylinder for any length of time. I just bought a used Lexus and hopefully will have less problems than buying a ford

Great job Michael. The semi synthetic oil is best to deal with the specific engine tolerances.

Dont we have to fill up the new cup with oil?

Don't need to change synthetic oil nearly as often as regular oil. Every 10,000 miles is fine. Check it out. You're overspending needlessly.

I traded it in back in the middle of 2018 but not for any bad reason. I wanted something more sporty, so I bought a Fusion. That Escape was an incredible vehicle.

Why did you only buy Pontiac cars? And you wonder why you had to replace parts, and the Pontiac aztec? Cmon man shame on you, first you buy the worst car ever then you complain about it
