The recording sounds like he was the one who came up with these ideas and led Trump to the choices…..maybe he had this ulterior motive all along…hence the recording.
The crime here is a man (cohen) who was setting a potential president (trump had not won yet) up for blackmail. Cohen was enraged that he wasn’t selected for chief of staff or attorney general…..this he admits made him suicidal. This made him vengeful. What better plan than to try and take the president down with those recordings.
What I hear in the recording isn’t some detailed talk or plan by Trump. I hear an attorney badly advising a man who is used to just nod and agree or write the check. While that’s reckless to any standard….the rich and famous don’t ever really do their own work when it comes to stuff like this. Trump hired an attorney and expected the attorney to be legal minded. He’s being advised badly and the attorney is setting him up….via a recorded confidential conversation. Cohen needs more jail time.

What person takes out a loan on their house after recording the potential president if they aren’t of the mindset of blackmail? My prediction is that it goes for jury deliberation and the jury convicts. The charge is appealed and nothing happens prior to the election. Further lack of belief in the justice system by both sides. Face it - the only way you get justice out of a jury is if both parties have equal rank. That was why juries were composed of peers of the defendant. If you were lower status, you didn't sue someone unless you had good enough evidence to convince the defendants friends that he was in the wrong. Now days, a juror has no honor and hence is able to apply his preferences at will unless they come right out and say they were biased. Maybe in the future we can have AI chatbot jurors.
