- Learn how to do plastic welding and repair an RV holding tank - we show you each and every step. First we unbox the True Power Plastic Welding Kit by Gino Development, which is similar to the 80 Watt Iron Plastic Welding Kit sold by Harbor Freight. We show you what’s included with the welding kit such as the plastic welding iron, plastic welding rods, and steel wire mesh. Next we talk about safety when plastic welding by going over leather gloves, safety glasses, respirators and cartridges. Lastly, it’s hands-on as we perform plastic welding on a severely cracked RV black water holding tank made of polyethylene plastic. Why pay the RV repair shop $$$$ when you can repair RV waste tanks, water tanks, and any other plastic tank yourself?

Great video, not overly long, yet useful and still entertaining to watch.
Well done, very straightforward and comprehensive. Thank you!
Your videos are awesome. And the sound quality is fantastic because you’re using a quality microphone.
Thank you it's very helpful, I got a plastic water tank that has a long crack from the lower side I'm gonna try and weld it now.
Thank you for the instructions! I am going to give this a try with a plastic weld to the side of black water tank!
Great video. Good job editing and narration.
Welcome back to YT. Nice to see you posting videos again. Thanks.
Thanks, yes it's been awhile. Been spending too much time working on a book. It was fun to pick up the camera for a change!
Thanks for this. Great tutorial.
Thanks , I think you training is very good and I cant afford to hire someone...so, I think I will be able to fix my tanks myself now :)
Looks good. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for this!
Very weld done......
Hell ya thanks for the video
You're welcome!
Great how-to video! One question though, how do you tell what material your black tank or grey tank or water tank are made of? Would the same welding rods work on a black tank as it would on a fresh water tank? Is it a regulated industry standard that all fresh water tanks are made with one material while all black-water tank is made with another, and yet the grey another?
Keep these vids coming!
Your respirator information is absolutely wrong. A P100 cartridge is designed to filter out physical particles, not chemical vapors. you want a cartridge designed to filter out organic vapors. 3M's website, as well as many other places online have selection guides. That will direct you to the cartridge suitable for what you are doing. Yes there is smoke during plastic welding, and a P100 will filter out the smoke particles, but the chemical vapors will go right through it.
Can the plastic welder be used on even tanks that can be glued? How does one figure out what type of tank(s) they have?
