That groovebox is sick - I like the minimal design - might be time to rid myself of several hardware drum machines and synths and just rock this one to write songs quick and simple
It has a lot going on, still reaching into its depths!!! You sum it up with 'quick and simple' and it's super geared to the song form + structure which helps a lot with arranging! Thanks for watching more coming on this soon :)
I like the design, straight forward workflow and limitation of tracks, that will undoubtedly spawn fresh creativity while preventing over produced and track heavy beats. Thanks for sharing an over-the-shoulder experience of the Roland MV-1 VerseLab
Thankyou...I got mine this we. Watching you work on this and tother vid was really helpful and inspiring. It feels like a great fun sketch pad to just take off somewhere. Something about catching ideas rather than playing with plugins.
Ok, love your review 👍🏾, and love that you showed the wk flow right out the box.. I’m selling my Akai live cause I could never get things done this quickly on it.. thanks again!!! And the sounds are outstanding!!!
Very well, another device to compose and have more sounds.. Find out well about the things that I am explaining to you, how is the evolution of the whole musical matter going... Good luck and let's all go with joy...
Cute!! At last a compact DAWless recording platform- looking forward to your deep dive.. I’ve got a DAWless live looping rig, this could be REALLY handy! Thanks for posting & happy new year!!
Fab first look, thanks! Not much else out there yet. So easy and quick to get something down with this. I'm grabbing one of these in the next few days to make synth pop with :) I started writing songs back in the 80s with a twin-deck Hitachi boombox - you could bounce tracks from one deck to the other. Was thrilled to soon progress to a cheap Tascam 4-track. This would have been a dream come true. And still is! Subscribed, and looking forward to the 'in depths'.
WOW Estelle what a fantastic machine! The price is also good. € 680 at Thomann. It only needs to have a larger touchscreen but it can be used on the Ipad with Roland Zenbeats. Fantastic! The cardboard box is also very beautiful. I would not have the courage to put the cardboard box in the trash. Estelle make more videos with Rolans MV-1 VerseLab and use it with Roland Zenbeats on your Ipad or computer 😀
hey thanks, yes looking forward to trying with Zen Beat + iPad soon, more content coming on this very soon too; exploring the whole song flow writing process :) PS Kept the lovely box!!
Hi there! Great video! Thanks for sharing! Can you record electric guitar, bass or acoustic guitar on it? How? Does it have specific effects for guitar or bass?
Great question, yes of course you can either sample and still use all the FX or use Vocal tracks to lay down parts. Will explore this in next vid coming soon :)
ah but as vocalist this has another dimension with some cracking vocal processing, harmonisers, will show it in next few vids! Oh thanks re: beat i'll make it into a song very soon! (should have prob put it earlier in video!!) :)🎼🎼
@@stellarrubio I have MPC X and Electribe. I am waiting to see how it develops hopefully with MV-2 in the Summer with a large screen like Yamaha QY-20 and more. I hope it will have some of the SRV and SDE reverb and delays. Plus some official emulations of Alessis, Casio and EMU. Roland knows how to license.
Bravo j’aimerais beaucoup connaître la marque de votre amplificateur celui avec les vu mettre aiguilles qui est noir pouvez vous me dire la marque et la référence merci beaucoup et bravo à vous
Nice video and demo, it seems every content channel has done a good job. I have posted and sourced your video in a facebook group called Roland Verselab MV Users Independent Group
Hello! Would it be possible to program voice effects in "Pad's"? For example, programming the "Radio" effect in Pad-1 and pressing it turns the effect on and pressing it again turns the effect off?...
Yes standalone and has 3000 sounds and can connect to Roland Cloud for more! Thanks for tuning into my UA-cam!! xxx PS New video up now with more detail about song/Vocals x
@@simon_esse896 Oh, ok. That’s kind of a bummer, but makes sense given the smaller form-factor. Thanks! How are you liking it so far? Easy learning curve?
You can attach a battery pack via the USB slot :) Apologies late clarification on this was busy making my IN-Depth vid on Song/Vocals which is up now! Ex
@@stellarrubio Lol...sorry to rush. I cant wait til the MV is officially released everywhere. Thank you 4 ure video content detailing and explaining the device.
So are these type of units also designed to record the instruments into your DAW as well? Or when the DAW is considered, are real and soft (VSTi) instruments still the way to go. I just came into a Boss DR-880 and I'm wondering if it can be recorded in a quality manner (and for that point my Korg microStation has some great sounding kits.)
Yes you can also use pair of stereo jacks in to Audio interface to get a great sound through the DAW but this works great standalone and bouncing whole tracks to WAV too :)
@@stellarrubio Thanks. As a guitarist, it would have been cool if they included a Hi Z input for guitar and bass and the Roland/Boss COSM technology (that simulates amps, cabs, effects, etc.)
I guess, too, for hobby recording, if it sounds good, it sounds good. I mean, people say not to record the drums off my Korg microStation. Why not? Thanks!
@@stellarrubio the mpc can do all this and more. If you get the mpc workfolow down. This will become obsolete. Its a novation circuit with a built in mic. Nothing more. Mpc will last you a lifetime. Working on a video about that: You can multi layer up to 16 vocals/harmonies on the pads etc within in :) Thanks for watching :) You can also use the kit track for a pretty solid all drums part and customise the other tracks if need be, more soon on all the above!
Yes please make more videos on this unit ,, I’m really interested!!!!
Coming later this week :)
I mean the MV 1 looks good but the reviewer looks much better...😍
hehe too kind!
I like that you show appreciation for the box itself. Not many reviewers do that.
:) Yes the whole design package is quite cool, although obviously the sounds win hands down! New in depth video i up now too :)

I love the design, but yes also the workflow design is very intuitive too. Thank for watching, new video with in depth look + listen is up now too :)
@@stellarrubio Cool. Im messing around in the lab right now on some Lofi vibe, but will def come through to see that. Appreciate you putting that up.

Well done. Good review, thanks.
Thanks for watching! :)
I am waiting patiently for mine to arrive. I bought this to get AWAY from my daw and SCREENS! Ah hem...I'm looking at you MPC... : P
I know one of the best things I didn't mention was the break from screen time and having to use your ears more! Enjoy when it arrives!
Congrats, nice piece of hardware, love the mpc style pads, enjoy
Thanks, so much more to explore and share with this too :)
Great review. I’m sold. Looking forward to more on this. 👍🏼

Ima score one secondhand as module for my mv8800. Wanna see what that zen core engine does
Estelle!! You've got me amp'd about some gear I didnt even know existed before this video 😃 An exciting groovebox + sequencer, for sure!

It’s interesting but for $700 you could do way more with an iPad.
Ipads have software updates and if the developer does not do it Apple's way. The app stops working or sudden changes what happen with new OS updates.
