Get well soon, Jerry. I tried grilled pineapple once but I don't think I cleaned the grill well enough and it tasted of hamburgers. You gave me the inspiration to take another shot (as soon as I recover from knee surgery).
I must admit that I was slightly worried not hearing from you, but now you're back - and with an absolute phantastic summer recipe. Thank you ever so much for inspiring us with new sides and most of all: Get well soon
Sorry for the scare! Trying to do a weekly video once I got out of the hospital was a little bit too ambitious. But I am much better now and should hopefully be back on track. Lots of things I want to try now that the weather is nice again! Thank you for your support!
This is exactly why I made this. For one, it was an easy dish to fix in my current health state, but more importantly, this was just something to snack on for an afternoon get-together last weekend. Turned out to be a good party dish (and party trick) for a small gathering.
Wow! Grilled watermelon. I've never had that, but I soon will. The mint and lime juice sounds intriguing. I'ver never had that combination either. I have had watermelon (juice) and basil, that is delicious when added to a vodka and club soda. Now I'm wondering if the juice from grilled watermelon would work in that drink. Only one way to find out. Cheers.
Getting better every day, and this point almost back to normal (although still no running or jumping allowed for probably at least a month or two). Thank you for asking, and hope you had a nice 4th of July and enjoyed that grilled watermelon!
@@ChicagoGriller Gerry I haven't been that drunk for many moons. BUT I have tried Vegemite with mango, kiwi fruit and strawberries. Not bad even if not drunk :-)
@@ChicagoGrillerneed to say u did your own version looks fine but doesn’t have a 🎉🎉🎉 Effekt. Try like this: no olive oil instead take honey and rum/whiskey cognac depends on what u like mix that a little bit of lime is fine brush it on them set the heat very high u need to make them on a open flame 🔥 each side 30-40 seconds the honey and rum or whatever will caramelize. Enjoy 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Once again, I always get something different and interesting from this channel that inspires me to grill! Thanks!
Awesome, glad to hear it!
Now that's different!! Get well soon.......
Thanks Michael, recovery is coming along!

That looks yum. I'll have to try that out when summer rolls around, haha.
Not sure I’m ready for grilled watermelon, but it might be a good item for evening get together.

Yes, the watermelon with mint and lime was a very refreshing combo! Hmmmm… maybe a grilled watermelon vodka and soda would be nice 🍸🍹
chicago griller is the best thing since the fire escape griller
Hahah thanks! Fire escape is the OG and the inspiration for the channel!
Hopefully your leg is better and today is the Fourth of July and I have a big watermelon might try grilling some today.

Great job buddy , I’ve done the same with bananas 👌👌
Interesting! Never heard of grilling bananas... then again grilled watermelon isn't exactly common either!
Just come across your chanel Jerry. Love it. This watermelon recipe. Does it work best if watermelon is room temp. or straight from the fridge?
I grilled straight from fridge.
Thanks for watching, and welcome to the channel!
Jerry! Went to college and lived in Bobb with you at Northwestern!
Dan! Great memory! Crazy that was nearly 25 years ago 🤯
Hi Hopalong ;-)
Good to see you back in the saddle, so to speak'
An interesting vidio as usual.
This is one dessert I won't try with Vegemite :-)
Haha, finally something that Les won't try with Vegemite!
@@ChicagoGriller Gerry I haven't been that drunk for many moons.

What kind of mad man would do this
Haha yeah it’s a bit different. I will admit I like cold watermelon a lot better but it was fun to try it and show it in a video.
Nooooo there is No point to grilling watermelon.......just NO!!!!
Delicious? Yes. Necessary? Probably not, but still a fun party trick. Thanks for watching anyways!
