1969 Bolens 850 - Wisconsin S8D Engine Tuning Issues

I took this video to demonstrate what I believe to be some problems with the Wisconsin S8D engine on my Bolens 850 tractor. Specifically, it seems like the throttle and governor linkages aren't working quite right to keep the engine operating at the desired RPM. The engine also smokes a lot at really low throttle and sounds like it wants to cut out. When you give the engine a lot of throttle, it sounds like it is knocking badly as well. The governor also doesn't seem to properly regulate the engine RPM when the PTO is engaged and it tends to bog down under a heavy load.

Adjust your idle jet screw in at idle till it tries to die and then back it out just a bit.. Adjust your main jet at higher throttle the same way. This is called best lean adjustment. You are burning rich it looks like,Grey smoke is rich fuel , and black smoke is burning oil,but can't be sure if you're burning some oil or not.
BTW, if you have another carb like that I surely need one to get mine running.

That engine is supposed to lope and at a slow idle.

Be careful if it has de-compression setup on cam!These will confound you!Good vid,thanks...
