This very coaster used to operate at Dorney Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA. I was a ride operator on it, called the Lazer back then, in 1987. I remember in 1986, the first year it operated in our park, an operator had his foot on the track in the station and his foot was trapped under the train. He lost a few toes. We were NOT allowed to be on the raised part of the platform next to the track after that, so just seeing that guy sitting with his foot on the raised part made me instinctively shudder.
This was Laser at Dorney Park in Pennsylvania, United States, until 2008. It definitely gave Dorney Park it's signature look, and I miss it oh so much.
This thing runs SO much slower with the new trains... 37 seconds vs 30 seconds at Dorney. It may be 'smoother' but it crawls, especially through the high sections of the helixes.
@DonToasty99 That's amazing. All those fantastic coasters. I hope that I can get to america to ride em all some day. El Toro is a nice coaster, reminds me of Balder, a Swedish wooden coaster at Liseberg, the same park as the Lisebergbanan is placed. Check it out here on UA-cam. Will check that page of Stengel now. =)
@DonToasty99 Cool. Sadly he passed away for about 5 years ago, the genius of rollercoasters, Anton Schwarzkopf. He built Lisebergbanan here in Gothenburg in 1987. You can search for it here on UA-cam, actually I filmed it, but a bit shaky. You can find it on my channel. And at rcdb.com
This ride's loops are so round and you're going so fast that you're pushed waaaay in your seat. No chance of falling out, and practically no airtime on the entire ride, so OTS restraints would really just be too much.
@Griphen84: Stengel ist the designer of the best coasters in the world. Like Top Thrill Dragster, Kingda Ka, Son of Beast, El Toro, Maverick and many more. He also designed the famous Olympia Looping coaster as well as the Euro-Star. He's a legend and still involved in nearly every coaster project worldwide and was a good friend of Schwarzkopf. rcstengel. com/

Its the biggest traveling coaster I have ever seen. Pretty nice.
I remember riding this at Dorney park

Thats the cooles travelling coaster I have ever seen!
I like how the whole comment section is basically just fond Laser memories.
doesn't it legally have to have the shoulder thing if it does loops?
this is one of the three schwartzkopf loopers left in the world right? with scorpion at busch gardens tampa?
Looks pretty old school, when was it built? Manufactor? Sweet, 2 loops in a row.
Have you been to lagoon utah? That reminded of a ride there.
pretty sure this is just colossus

I'm going to Stuttgart! ^.^
this also exists at Lagoon in utah!
wow. how do u manage 2 hold the camera?
What does it mean for a coaster to be "overhauled"?
@Griphen84:
Balder was Stengels' work too ;)
So what did they do to Aftershock @ Silverwood?
how did u record it withiut the camera falling
how do u record it without the camera falling

Is it smoother then it was at dorney park?
isnt this a travelling coaster now?
One more question: Is it true they're giving Goliath @ SFNE new trains for the 2013 season?
Yes, and they're hot garbage.
@DonToasty99 Haven't heard about Werner Stengel, have to read about him. =)
OPEN-AIR COASTER CARS WITH LAP-BAR RESTRAINTS FTW! :-)
Did they repaint the laser and just sent it to germany?
Yes.
Who built the trains?
+Leonardo Bruzzone SAT Rides (Germany). Refurbishment was done by Gerstlauer.
wasnt this originally laser

Looks similar (though smaller) to the one in West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada.
Yoshi noise at 2:07

i found the coaster stupid and short -.-
It payed 5 euro's to ride this thing at the ''fun fair'' in Tilburg
ouch
i was 2 times :D
Arrow coaster lifts go faster then
@Griphen84: Built by Schwarzkopf in 1979.
Well a least the lift is faster
Aha, Schwarzkopf. Sadly he died for some years ago. =(
Nothing unique about it.
