I use two OM-D E-M1ii bodies, and they continue to serve me so well year after year that I have had no desire to upgrade. Reliable, weather-sealed, small, excellent IQ, more tech wizardry than I really need, and lots of great lens options available for a good price. It’s a solid choice for out-and-about photography for new pros.

I love my gh5 and I've just ordered a g100, obviously not a pro camera but so small, that's the great thing about mft.

I purchased an Oly but considered the Lumix G9.. Ultimately I preferred the Olympus ergonomics but the G9 with the 12-35mm lens was very compelling. Don’t forget the 50 megapixel tripod required High Res mode of the Olympus. Very useful for some applications.

I shoot with the Olympus OMD EM5 Mark ii and have to say it is a great camera! I used to shoot with Canon but my wrists couldn’t handle the weight any longer. The micro 4/3rd was a great choice for me.

Excellent! Always positive presentations, with a genuinely honest approach to enhancing the photography of all, this was a particularly good one, as it gives individuals the information on three separate makes, that as you comment are good systems, with a history of expertise behind them, yes there are others and yes they are good, however the three you have chosen have a very good pedigree as does Nikon, Sony is very pricy and I feel out of the price range for anywhere near the quality.

It is always a personal choice pick one up and see which one feels the best in your hand , then have a look at the menu system and can you understand it can you reach all the buttons do you need two cards , Most pro cameras have two slots anyhow . what lens choice do you need to have . but you may need to think about short term and long term as if you do go for a certain brand then to have a kit can cost you money. then to find out that it is not that camera or lens that suits you so do some homework before you decide. This video gives you a good insight to three good systems. Well put together video from Marc .

Just purchased an em1 mark ii this weekend with 12-40 pro lens £720 including the 64gb SD from cex. 3920 shutter count and good condition. Don't be afraid to try and haggle in the retail stores. I'm amazed at the camera was on a 750d and this is another level thanks mark.

Before 2020 I had a Canon System with F4L glass (17-40, 24-105 IS II, 70-200, & 1.4 TC) In 2020 hauling around the big, heavy and expensive equipment got old. I started looking for a smaller, lighter system.
During my research I found myself on UA-cam watching videos from Robin, Rob, Jimmy, Joe, Peter, M43 Guy all singing the praises of M43. I also was watching videos putting down M43. The one creator that comes to mind is a husband and wife team (T&C) yeah you know who I am talking about every time he would say something positive about Olympus he would follow it up with something negative. To say the least I was confused but I knew I did not want to continue on the path I was on. I also found this channel with several videos comparing full frame, APS and M43 format cameras. The video I found most intriguing was the one where Canon and Olympus went head-to-head for a gallery exhibition. When the printer could not see a difference between them with 1 meter long prints I was convinced to try the system out.
I was looking for a used Olympus what I found was a new/old stock Olympus PEN kit at a price point right in the middle of the same model used. I bought it to test out.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself which will put what I’m about to say into contents. In the 80s and early 90s I would photograph concerts as well as other low light events. The type of film I used to use for concerts would be Kodak VR 1000, Kodak EES slide film pushed two stops, Konica 3200 you want to talk about grain/noise. I also would use Fuji color 1600 and XP1 which was better than Kodak but still grainy.
In my opinion I found the image quality on the Olympus PEN to be quite good even at high ISO settings. So that started my journey with Olympus. I began adding more and more lenses as needed and when I was able to afford it.
One of the lenses I added was the Olympus 12-40mm f2.8 Pro which is a phenomenal lens. The difference between the Olympus 12-40mm f2.8 Pro and the NEW Olympus 12-40mm f2.8 Pro mk II are the coatings both lenses uses the same formula. NEITHER LENS HAS IMAGE STABILIZATION BUILT IN TO IT.
Olympus only makes four lenses with IS.
    12-100mm f4 IS Pro
    150-400mm F4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO
    300mm f4 IS Pro
All three of these lenses will work with the built-in IS system in the cameras.
The last lens is the 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 IS. Which you must decide to use the lenses’s IS or the body’s IS but not both.
Now we move forward to Christmas season 2021 when I was able to pick up a new
Olympus OM - D E - M1 II body on sale before being sold out. The M1 mk II improved the noise/grain output as well as sped up AF operations and added lots of additional features over the PEN series of cameras. I was extremely pleased so much so I went hunting for another body and found another new body I was able to purchase through the magic of credit cards😃.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION THE OM-D E-M1II WAS RELEASED IN 2016 NOT 2013 AS STATED IN THIS VIDEO.
I find the Olympus/OM System lens of “equal angle of view” to be smaller, lighter and less expensive then Canons lenses in equal classifications ie.. Canon’s 24-70mm f2.8 L II compared to Olympus’s 12-40mm f2.8 Pro II.
M43 May not be everybody’s cup of tea. If you are looking at a print at the proper viewing distance you would be very hard-pressed to be able to tell what camera took want photograph. If you are the type of person that likes to pixel peep on a computer screen then all images will eventually fall apart under high magnifications.
I HAVE A QUESTION WHEN DID NOISE/GRAIN BECOME SOMETHING TO BE AVOIDED?
I personally like the way Olympus/OM Systems controls noise. To me it gives more of a feeling of film then just some sterile image.

    • @powodzenia

Very much enjoyed watching your analysis, it’s funny that the iPhone 15 pro max lens is only (9.8mm x 7.3mm compared to say a Micro Four Thirds 4/3"
17.30 x 13.00mm which is still almost double the size and can still produce reasonable photos and videos for there size, and of coarse the lens are very important to not forgetting the person behind the shot. Reason i am here looking at all my options as want to buy a camera again as it’s been years since owing one and only use my iPhone 12 Pro Max for all around shots and the quality is very important but not interested in lugging the full size sensor camera around, yes i know these are all pro cameras but are there anything newer that’s not pro that would beat out on quality so can download to MacBook M2 and also view on large Tv 4k screen, all comments welcome 😀😀, you have a new subscriber 🤓🤓🥳🥳

You forgot cheap glass as an advantage of MFT. Lenses and cameras cane be cheap and compact because they're MFT, it's a bit weird to state "MFT" as a con! I bought in to Lumix *because of* MFT, haha. The actual cons are poor ISO performance as you explained, and less DoF possibilities. And resolution, potentially...

I cant quite agree on the "full frame offers better image quality" regarding detail etc. Comparing a, in my case D610 to the XT3. 6 years of sensor and processor development shows, lenses matter a lot and even when it comes to noice at high iso the XT3, while showing more of it the noise a lot more pleasing to the(my) eyes than the nikon offcource YMMW.

Fuji not only do not state the shutter life of the camera shutter, but if you reset the camera back to factory settings, you will also reset the shutter count! That is very poor, and I think Fuji does not want us to know it's true durability.

Fuji X-T3 was the worst camera that I ever purchased, even the East German made cameras of the 60's were far better built than this Chinese abortion. Apart from the battery life which was appalling, the grip that did not fit properly and moved every time that I picked the camera up. it would randomly shut down on me and I had to send it back to Fuji under warranty for repair and it was only 8 months old with less than 5.000 activations on it. When it was returned I sold the dam thing and bought a Nikon Z6ii and never looked back.
