this whipes the floor w/ most dungeon synth that i've heard. the tone is perfect.
This tape changed my life. A close friend has the cover tattooed on his leg. The best dungeon synth release for me to this day.
Do you know anything similar? Nothing I've found has even come close, since it's a life-changing album for me as well.
@@kallitalonpoika been actively looking for years. Have only found stuff that has glimpses of genius. But nothing has even come close to the sound and creativity that voldsom manifests
@@Sanginn Yeah, I've tried,myself, too. I can manage a few tracks inbetween other music but I cannot even get close to making a full album of such godly dungeon synth, I don't know how they do it.

Just found this channel. Holy shit I wish I had known about just 1/10th of these bands. I've been a fan of Mortiis (obviously) for 20+ years now. Only the early stuff though. And I had heard about a few other bands here and there, but I didn't realize darkwave became Dungeon Synth now I guess. Either way, glad I found this channel, can't wait to hear more!

Darkwave is a post punk subgenre that's been around since the 70s and is often constructed like you would a band: a few musicians and vocals... dungeon synth is not a post punk genre and traditionally has no vocals, Mortiis started doing darkwave AFTER dungeon synth btw. It's been dungeon synth since the late 80s, Era 1 Mortiis is dungeon synth and he even referenced it as such at the time of making it and acknowledged his interests as being rooted in dungeon synth and experimental dark ambience even when he was a bassist in Emperor. He even has separate side projects under different aliases around the same time as Era 1 which he used to produce and publish anything he didn't feel was good enough or categorized as dungeon synth because he was making DUNGEON SYNTH in the early 90s.
It's not like suddenly the youngins are calling your darkwave dungeonsynth lmao, you just don't know what's up. Might want to curb the "20+ years" flex until you get your facts straight.

I have this and Vandingen I, as well as two letters by him. the tapes are hand numbered and have my name on. Bought them maybe 8 years ago?! I somewhere around that I feel.
