Story:
Ben & Evie - Losing Your Memory;
Ben sees it's Evie who's knocking on the door, and invites her in his office.
She walks in, a look of distress on her face and he knows something is
wrong (notice the fade to b&w). The scene where Evie introduces
herself to Ben (in the first movie) is next to represent that their relationship
wasn't going to work from the start in the way Ben laughed at her.
In the next few weeks after that greeting, Ben falls in love with Mal (w/o
the spell in this AU) and Evie feels rejected and not good enough.
In where Evie is shutting the door, avoiding eye contact with
Ben but smiling, she is laughing at how he's acting towards her. Trying
to make her feel comfortable and welcomed in Auradon, knowing little
about how he's already hurt her.
In the next few weeks at Cotilion, Ben is now with Uma who had captured
him on the Isle and almost made him shark bait. And yet again, Evie
was heartbroken, not chosen once more by Ben.
The two scenes where Ben & Evie are on the ship show up after the clips
of Ben & Uma to show what happened before, and how scared Evie
was that Ben would get hurt and yet, he still didn't see how much she
cares for him.
When in Ben's office, Evie hands him a note which expresses her feelings
towards him and he's shocked.
"I would have died" - Evie and Ben fighting Uma's crew meaning that either
one of them would risk their lives for each other.
The b&w, reversed clips show what is happening in Ben's mind, signifing
that his memory is slowly fading away. When Evie hands Ben his ring in his
office, it's then that he realises how much he's hurt Evie with his actions
with Audrey, Mal & Uma. The more they talk, the more frustrated and upset Ben
gets that Evie never told Ben. But, he realises that it isn't Evie's fault. It's
his. He knows that now. They argue before he realises what is happening. He soon sees Evie with Chad, one of his friends, and that's when he realises he's lost any chance with her. He later heads off to one of the forest areas of Auradon, where he
falls into the water. There, is where every memory he's every had slowly
erases from his mind..

How can you do this to me? The story is just so clear and poignant. I really felt Evie's pain and struggle. I mean this song has always struck a chord in my life as it is just haunting and devastating. The ending really worked well with the video as he couldn't handle his mistake so he chose to forget magically in the pond. Also your manips were fabulous! You're one of my top UA-camrs. Mal and Ben are still my otp but I like these guys in an alternative universe sense, I just cannot deny the magic of this story. They had such chemistry in DESCENDANTS 2. Bevie!!💛💙💛💙

In my opinion Evie and Ben must have been the protagonists of Descendientes❤️
I like them better. They always wanted the same things for the world. Sometimes I felt like there were things were Mal and Ben couldn't understand about each other, because Mal's first instinc is to run away or keep secrets, while Ben and Evie where more comunicative and fighted for the same things.
I don't dislike Ben and Mal but I always kinda felt like that Evie was a better choice for him, because their personalities alin more.
this is exactly how I feel, Mal and Ben are pretty good, but they don't seem longterm, or it's really forced. The first movie I REALLY liked them, but their relationship ran its course by Descendants 2, and she completely just wasn't queen material by D3, they were forcing it. I also think Evie and Doug's love story became very stale, I was fine with them in D1 and 2, but by 3 it just felt off and boring, I could see them breaking up mutually since they don't need each other anymore. Her arc doesn't end at realizing she is smart in D1 or a businesswoman in D2, she could've became a queen in D3! Evie and Ben seem to naturally just get each other and are so calm in how they talk, they want the same thing, it would have worked. In D1, it would not have worked, I think they needed Mal and Doug, but by D3 and even D2, they have flourished enough to fit perfectly
@@growingupwithdisney Exactly. Plus it would've been an amazing plot twist if in the second movie it was Evie the one who would've to break Ben's spell with a true love's kiss. They could have built them a bit more and in the end drop that boom. Descendants 3 could've been about the conflict between Mal, Evie and Ben. Mal could run away to his father and then her friends and even Uma try to bring her back. Both Evie and Ben could even agree on that movie to put the barrier down. It would've fit perfectly.
I don't think Dough was boring, however I do believe he was to insecure for Evie some times. Just like Mal was for Ben. Evie would protect Ben's innocence abd explain to him how she felt and how things worked. She would've maybe walk away, but not put a spell on him or leave the kingdom, which would give them space to fix things. And because Ben wouldn't be as angry because no one spelled him, he would've tried to make her see she doesn't need to be perfect, but even if she wants to do some things he can help her. I don't know. I think it's overall better and less conflict.

Through this edit I discovered this song that now holds a special place in my heart forever. this song breaks my heart. not because of a show or a ship but because my grandma is slowly losing her memory and it's just so painful to watch. every time she forgets my name or any detail about me it just rips out my heart as if it was the first time all over again. the worst thing is going to sleep never knowing what you'll wake up to, will she know my name? will she have forgotten about me? it's always so nervewracking to wake her up in the morning. On the 6th, in two days, on my 17th birthday, marks her two years diagnosed with dementia and the first time when she forgot about me for the first time.

Yo siempre los pense como pareja, cuando vi por primera vez descendientes 1 al principio pense que qudarian juntos porque tenian quimica, pero luego de la nada lo pusieron con mal, lo vi injusto, solo porque ella era la protagonista, y ademas que mal solo lo queria para realizar su plan malevolo y evie lo queria antes que ella, y despues se tuvo que resignar ya que ben no queria ser malo con mal y terminar con ella despues de salir de su hechizo 😓
