I made one after seeing your video. I only had 2x6 scrap so that's what I used so I did 1/2 lap joint. The town I live in has been doing a cancer auction this month so monday was the day the church I work at to put Items in the auction so it sold for a great cause. Thanks for you video
Neat! I wouldn't even have known about these types of projects before reading about them in Woody Hyezmar's Woodworking Bible, If I’m not istaken he’s still looking for proof readers.
@@aetimberpine I ordered some star patterns. I have a craft show in November, so I am going to make a few. How much do you usually charge for 1? I know it varies by area, I am in north central Mass.
Hey Len, Great investment. I still use mine to this day. Make sure to trace your stars onto your material. I once secured my template to the material, trying to short cut the process, and I ended up tearing up my template and my stars didn’t come out good. I have charged as low as 30.00 and as high as 40.00. I’m currently at 40.00. Wishing you the best on your craft show!
@@aetimberpine I have plenty of scraps tp make some, but think I will also make a few out of a fence picket from Lowes. They are cheap and pressure treated. Using Tightbond 3 and exterior clear, then they can be used outside.
I built a couple of jigs for gluing/nailing and backside painting and can do 20 per day with basic table saw, hand router, nail gun, planer and miter saw. I give them to every veteran I know or are in my social circles. Doing a Star of David is much harder than these are.
@@aetimberpine No I don't sell them. I am retired so I make things to give away. In this case, to veterans and gold star families. For the gold star families, I paint one of the stars gold.
I got it from Amazon. amzn.to/3js48LY I use the stars that would be for the Medium flag. Not the smallest stars because that would take too long to carve and my preference was not to go too big because then you’d only get a few stars. Once you get the template you’ll see which once I am talking about but it all comes down to preference. Hope this helps! 😀

The final look of this project is great! Thanks for the video.
I’ve used a biscuit jointer to attach side pieces. Cleaner looking and easy.
Thanks for sharing! I just got one used from a thrift store. Might have to do a comparison.

Nice! That’s the way to do it! The jig I bet is nice to knock these out.
Are you also selling in markets, FB? These come in waves for me.
