Fellow Irishman here in New York. I've had to let many people go in business over 30 years and it is without a doubt the most difficult task in business; at least for those that value their employees. You seem to be one of those. Best of luck for a prosperous 2025!
Everyone should call and complain. It will also make buyers go away. This will hurt those selling smaller items like sportcards, coins l, lures and etc.
Great video Al, couldn’t agree more, with all the changes at the moment with policies I feel the exact same, I really hope eBay are able to sort out some of these on going issues, all the best
Sorry to hear business isn't going well. Maybe not a great idea to say you're paying someone's rent as a redundancy package. It sounds like you're trying to be a hero after you've let someone go.
The problem with the Grey market is that you may have bought them from another region, but as a business to business you are responsible for placing them on a different market than the market intended by the MFR. if they were already imported to the EU, you are fine, but if you bought them from outside the EU you are liable for all sorts of thing like battery recycling payments.
Im the same, restructuring the business away from eBay. From a business perspective, 2025 isn't going to be a good year for eBay. Will still be a good part of the business, but it's not going to be the major part anymore. There were way too many strange happenings on eBay recently. Then, they started charging additional fees for sevices that the FVF used to provide. Claiming its a new feature 😂😂 its getting pathetic tbh. Hope you can get the staff back soon, nothing worse than that feeling of having to pay people off.

It's the EU, wait until Turkey joins and we will experience fraud like nothing we've seen before.

That’s terrible news for three people and their families. I despise our so called politicians, they are doing nothing to help businesses.

Before it happens in U.S everyone should call and tell EBay you don’t like it.!
So sorry for the staff, bad time of year but you are treating them well. We've started on Vinted and so far, so good.
I hope things improve for your business as the year progresses, Al. Here in America, they call it Severance Pay. Good luck!
