- German trance leader Paul Van Dyk has reportedly been lifted to a hospital after suffering a fall during his performance at A State of Trance in Utrecht. Apparently while in the middle of his set, the sound cut off abruptly as the DJ fell from the stage.

Currently seeing Paul in German TV interview talking about his accident and all the shit following throughout the months ... he fought back to life supported by the love and empathy of his wife and family ... and this is why we all have to show him greatest respect!
He is such a lovely, friendly and grounded guy, even with all the success he had in the past!
Saw him the first time 1993 at old Riem airport charter hall in Munich with a fantastic Trance and Techno set on a normal Thursday evening together with about 500 other ravers ... it is unforgettable ... show him the respect he deserves !!!

Wenn ich die ganzen menschenverachtenden Kommentare hier lese dann kommt mir das Kotzen. Paul ist fast gestorben weil die Bühne nicht den gängigen Sicherheitsstandards entsprach und ihr jammert hier rum weil die Show abgebrochen wurde. Armin van Buuren hat das einzig richtige getan, er hat Respekt und Empathie im Gegensatz zu euch!
Da kann ich Dir nur recht geben, denn es war ein sehr tragischer Unfall gewesen, den Paul van Dyke um ein Haar nicht überlebt hätte. Armin van Buuren hat das richtige getan, dass die Show abgebrochen wurde. Ich kann auch die Reaktionen nicht verstehen, dass Leute gejammert haben, dass diese Show nicht weiter ging. Das wichtigste ist, dass Paul van Dyke, am Leben ist und das er sich ins alte Leben zurück gekämpft hat. Da ziehe ich absolut meinen Hut vor Paul van Dyke und habe den aller größten Respekt vor ihn. Die Musik und das Performance, was Paul van Dyke macht, ist einfach Legendär. Danke Paul van Dyk, wir sind alle Fans von Dir und uns freut es am meisten, dass Du wieder sehr Gesund bist

Leider haben die Menschen den nötigen Respekt und Anstand verloren. Hier geht es nur noch um das Vergnügen, egal zu welchem preis. Die Fortsetzung der Show scheint für die meisten wichtiger zu sein, als die Tatsache, das hier fast ein Mensch ums Leben kam. Das interessiert niemand mehr. Perverse Gesellschaft! Aber das war schon immer so!

Mensch ich bin so überglücklich das der liebe Paul das ganze überlebt hat und sich zurück gekämpft hatte, meine Hochachtung, wenn ich das Video sehe weine ich, mir ist es leider in Jahr 95 mit meinen Fahrrad passiert wo mich 40 tonner Lkw mit hinter dem Führerhaus mitgeschleppt hatte und ich irgendwie durch riesen Glück raus kam aber denn volle Wucht mit der linken Kopf Seite gegen die Straßenlaterne geknallt war so das ich ein Schädelbases Bruch, Gehirn Trauma hatte und andere Sachen dazu noch hatte , und ich 2 Wochen in künstlichen Koma war und danach über 1 Jahr in der Rhehaklinik rein musste weil alles überhaupt nicht mehr funktioniert hatte bei mir 😭. Paul hat meine volle Hochachtung und ich freue mich so sehr das er eine tolle liebe Frau hat an seiner Seite. Paul ist mein großes Vorbild immer gewesen, ich liebe über alles seine Musik, mir hat seine Musik in der so schlimm Zeit bei mir viel Kraft gegeben. Wenn ich hier so blöde dumme Sätze lesen tue , zeigt es mir das viele hier kein Hirn Masse mehr in ihren Kopf haben, und frage mich ganz ehrlich wer solche Leute das recht gibt so einen Menschen zu verurteilen 😡 da kotze ich echt ab hier , sorry meine Wörter, aber es macht mich extrem sauer , Leute wenn es geht noch , vorher Kopf einschalten bevor Vorurteile gemacht werden klar !!!! Paul Van Dyk hat euch nichts getan, lasst ihn in Ruhe.

The German was wheelchair bound for weeks after the accident, as well being required to learn to walk, speak and eat again..
I've read that too, very sad... hopefully he's OK now, he should be on February 25th in Prague!

We saw a documentary today on PvDs fall from the stage, the life-threatening condition resulting from this, the great work of the medics saving his live, and finally his fight to claw back his self-awareness / identity and to rebuild his live. Obviously he still loves to make music, but with a different mindset.
Be a bit more respectful, he had a 6 metre fall from the stage & was seriously injured - how would you feel if you barely survived & then get punded by some suckers as happened below ?
You've just said the right thing FIRSTLY done, and that's my personal opinion: The perfect job the doctors did after the fall! Their immediate and critical first aid...If the doctors hadn't act the way they acted, we wouldn't talk about Paul Van Dyk, and PVD about the "so-called" help of his Colombian wife! Makes me angry she always takes the credits, when there are doctors who did the "dirty job"!!!

Your theories... people, you should be glad he's alive and starts to do music again! It could be worse, thanks God for how is it. He shouldn't go there on the decks etc. etc. I was literally shocked after hearing what all did he learn again, about the wheelchair etc. I'm so happy for him now (that he's going to have a concert in Feb17 in PRG), cause he's one of those inspirative people. Still remember Kevin & Perry Go Large movie with amazing trance music. There was a poster with PVD show in 1999 I think. 17 years, wow... classic trance forever! Peace!

Laut Internet geht es ihm mittlerweile gott sei dank den umständen entsprechend gut und hat wieder in sein normales leben zurück gefunden.zur situation. das war grob fahrlässig von dem veranstalter. +Tranceislands I thought exactly the same when I saw this for the first time.. like he had to go to a special marked point... but if that was a planned show, then they didnt make that great break and Armin was really sad.. So hope the best for PVD and Trance, I'm a fan since 1996, but listen more to Hardstyle last years..

I'm not sure if he's filming him or the crowd and moreover i can imagine that the guys from production asked him to climb up and show them what has happened to Paul van Dyk, to react properly e.g. sending him an instant emergency. So sure it looks a bit weird, but it could have helped him a lot, if production team saw him suffering through the camera immediately you know?

Damit sie Paul bergen konnten deswegen wurde die Veranstaltung beendet sonst hätte ein anderer weitergemacht. Das hat Paul selber gesagt das war kein Zeichen von Respekt sondern notwendig.

I really like what Paul does musically, but I never understood why DJs stopped "jockin discs" to become showmen standing where you shouldn't stand.
It's really sad he got severly injured but he can't blame Armin. If you break a leg if you jump from the second floor of your house, you won't sue the architect, as it is obvious you shouldn't have jumped in the first place...
But we live in the era of lawsuits, a lot of people looking for other people to take responsability for their own actions, hoping to get rich.
I still hope Paul is recovering well and continue to do such good music, but I deeply regret this pathetic war.

This society is more and more treating people like children and everything becomes suable to prevent oneself to take full responsability for their own actions.
A court will surely say that the organization haven't taken into account regulation n°184930 on stage protection for walking DJs, but in my opinion, as a member of the public representing only myself, is that if you do anything else than mixing, you are 100% responsible for what you do outside the decks.
