Should you buy a fake Apple Pencil for your iPad on Amazon?

- A friend got a new iPad and was curious if he could save a few bucks buying one of the many Apple Pencil knock-offs on Amazon. So being the good nerd that I am, I tried out two of them (spoiler alert: they've both been returned)
Depending on which iPad you have, I can only recommend the real deal from Apple. You can usually save a few bucks buying them on Amazon:
Apple Pencil Gen 1 (For most iPads) amzn.to/2OkHHZo
Apple Pencil Gen 2 (Newer Pro and Air) amzn.to/3ri3Nu4
I'm not even going to link to the other 2, stay away.

The cheap knockoff apple pencils are so tempting, but saving a few bucks isn't worth the headache of it not working properly. Great content as always NotNerd!
Yep, I love a good deal, but continue to learn in life that sometimes spending more is the best deal.
The point pressure for drawing is the problem😢 u have to buy an 🍎 pencil.
It’s not fake it’s just their own version for cheaper price.
Sound advice. There’s a a ton of crummy products with 5 star “reviews” out there. Thanks for taking the time to remind us (!}.
You have nice 5G antenna 😃
I arrived to your video because I was looking what “fake” apple pencils are out there ,there are a ton actually, some of them actually work, but from what I hear it’s a hit and miss. I do have the 2nd generation real apple pencil, I wanted to get a second one so not to use this one all the time. I draw and color. So, I heard you say that you don’t have a newer IPad for the 2nd generation pencil. My question is if you still have it you don’t want to sell it by any chance?. Thank you
Hello, glad you found the video. I'm not ready to part with mine, but it does looks like you can get the real thing for $30 off through Amazon, hope that helps. www.amazon.com/Apple-MU8F2AM-A-Pencil-Generation/dp/B07K1WWBJK/
@@Notnerd Thank you for replying. Yes I saw that Amazon has it for $99, but first before I dish out the money since I already paid $129, for a spare one I will try one of those fake ones, there are a few that are better. But I'm curious if you don't have an iPad that you can use the 2nd generation pencil on why do you hold on to that?
What the different from the apple pencil 1st generation lighting adapter and the usb-c adapter
The difference is which charging cable you use to connect it to. The lightening adapter will give you a female lightening to female lightning connection so you can use a traditional lightening cable to charge the pencil. The USB-C version has one female lightening and one female USB-C connection so that a USB-C charging cable can be used to charge the pencil. I hope that adds some clarification and not more confusion.
I own 3 of the cheaper alternative stylus and they are absolutely brilliant I cannot fault them, the battery life of the stylus are really good. I just recently got the iPad 9th Generation and the pens work really well on the iPad and I use procreate a lot. I highly recommend them 🖊🖊🖊🖊🖊🖊🖊🖊🖊
Thanks for the update!
