Fact is that we live in an ever changing world.
And in order to be what is now considered (successful), you need more communicative skills than actual physical skills.
But, as stated we live in an ever changing world and who knows what will be the requirement for success in the future.
Im now 87 years old, and what it took to be successful back in my day was knowledge and hard work.
Today that wont work, at least well. I see contractors who couldnt hold a job based upon their own skill level.
But it dosent seem to matter so long as their communicative skills can offset that.
In other words BS can rule in todays world.
Cost plus projects are a prime example of that.
Back in my day you would be whistling Dixie for a very long time before you might convince someone to give you a large job without some type of solid numbers. At the very minimum even on complex jobs there would be a high/low number agreed upon at the start.
And if you went over budget on your labor factor you ate it.

This is great, lots of things to think about for somebody getting ready to jump back in or rebrand.

I wonder if the same person can give a video 3 thumbs down?? Since it can't be possible for 3 different people not to like this. Lol This was a very inspirational video for my brother and I. We have a small cabinet shop in California and we are going to raise out standards starting with our cabinet doors! :) Keep up the great work and thanks for taking the time to share your projects.

Strangely I cannot get this video to play more than 20 seconds before an u limited buffer.
I've switched to other videos and watched them through with no problem and come back to have the same issue 7 times now. UA-cam must have slowed bandwidth to this channel or something.
