  • Thank you all for your patience! I had a tilt table text at 3pm so wasnt able to finalise my upload bits before leaving home at 2pm. i just got back (5:30pm) and doing final bits on this. I'll add sources and resources later on!

    I definitely have this. I had strings of hearing tests at school too. They said, huh, perfect hearing, how come you can’t hear? I remember never having a coue what was going on on tv until subtitles started to be available more.

      I have gradually learned to lip read to support my hearing. It made masks really difficult. Both muffled and not able to read lips. I find it hard remembering things i hear too. Learning languages is much harder.

      A few aha moments watching this - was always baffled how people could understand speech in loud pubs and clubs. And i need to wait for it to click too. Can’t cope with echos either

      Thanks for sharing! :) yeah its weird trying to comprehend people DONT struggle with these things ? 😭 id be so much less tired if i could hear properly

      @@ArtieCarden yes - it’s hard work, trying to piece it together - and then once you manage to work out what has been said, you get to start working out why they said it, and all the other tricky nuances and meanings (or not working them out). Yes, no wonder it is tiring. No wonder even in autistic spaces we get tired and have to rest up.

    I wonder if I have APD, but it was masked early on by Glue Ear...I certainly lip read a lot & can't pick out individual voices in a crowd
