Wonderful story. Two humans, one powerful, the other not so. Multiply that number two by the number of people in the world, some good, some not so good and you get a better a larger perspective of the terrible mess we've gotten ourselves in.

If you think this is the most wonderful short story in the history of literature, you've obviously only begun your journey. This is a typical Chekhov moralistic, didactic, fable. Not particularly notable. But if you're beginning your exploration of world literature, be of good cheer, there are moving and fantastic, and profound worlds of wonder and genius awaiting you.
I began my journey with writing twenty years ago as a poet, not a writer, even though I read a lot in Russian literature, Yotistoy, Ivan Turgenev, and the father of Russian literature, Fyodor Dostoyevsky. My dear, you object to the name that I only meant to attract viewers, so do not be prejudiced against me. You will find better stories here on the channel, and they are all short. the most misleading title to a video in the history of the internet . Bad story , bad message , bad ethics, bad culture that allows it > the worst short story I have ever read or heard of .

Why do you think the message is bad? The story intends to make you reflect on how vulnerable poor and powerless individuals are. You hate Chekhov?! But why?
@@ericahata2162 the message is bad for it shows a sadistic man browbeating a powerless woman totally in his control. Then , once she's thoroughly humiliated, he even takes away her anger by giving her the money she had earned . He did all this in a culture that clearly condones this sadism as it is commonplace enough for her to have been exposed to this more than once . that is why
