It’s interesting to watch such a cool airplane come together and I have learned some methods from you that have benefited my own project… But my favorite thing about your videos is enjoying your personality. I just said exactly the same about Brother Scott Matthews. If I ever make it to your hemisphere, I really want to meet both you excellent dudes 😎🎩♠️💙
Thanks mate. You’re right, balance of the spinner needs to be considered. The backing plates are from the original spinner used on c172. So that was a good base to build from. The rounded option I reckon has a better chance of getting the balance right instead of a longer, pointier one.
G'day Don, nice work on that spinner, but I reckon Frankenstein would at least have a wart on his nose tee hee. I'm fascinated by work - I could sit and watch it all day...
Thanks mate, I really appreciate that. Its fun making these videos, and a big part of it is hoping they might be useful to others to encourage them to have a go at making something of their own. I’m so glad they’ve been helpful to you. Awesome stuff!
@@Tadrjbs cheers mate, because the engine intake is pretty big I think I will still get enough airflow past the spinner for cooling. All I wanted to do was cover the centre hole in the prop

Looks great. The only consideration I'd add is balancing the spinner/backplate.

I could watch this for hours. It’s like watching a potter at work-mesmerising.
You're pretty good at fabricating stuff, Don! The shape of the side piece of your propeller boss is what is called a 'truncated cone'.
Cheers mate. Any excuse to turn sheet metal in to cool shapes is a good one
Love it, it looks like the top of a Knights helmet, suits Frankenstein.
Thanks mate

Haha cheers mate. There is a wart/bump in the top cowling where the oil dipstick access is. But it’s probably a weird place for a wart.
That spinner is just exactly perfect for the Frankenstein ♠️
Thanks mate, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out

A little more domey? The 172 type bullet looked good too.
I may still use it yet. I’ll know once I can look at the aircraft without all of the clutter around it
@@donwtsn It needs to direct more airflow into the cowling. How about the flat top half part replaced with that part more like a Cessna 195 one.

Yah now that I see it on there it's not bad. Love a-lume-min-um work, as we say it.
@@Tadrjbs cheers mate, any excuse to bash metal is a good one huh!
Dude, this channel and this build is awesome! Great job man
Thanks mate
Very clever , well done...
Thanks mate
That's a nice "nose bowl"!
Spinner looks good. Lets go flying.
Thanks mate. Almost there now
Good job Donnie! Looks schmicko.
Thanks mate
nice one Don just the job you must be close to finish now mate crack on
Thanks mate, yes, I only need to make the fuel tanks and a few other little things now. Hopefully Christmas has me ready for testing
