It was so sad seeing her as a tiny child just screaming out in pain when they moved her. Its surprising to see that she's an adult now and is doing so much better.

I just saw the 60 minutes Australia with her as an almost 3 year old crying with those injuries and I started bawling my eyes out, as the mother of a 3 yr old, that broke my soul. I thought she was a year older than my son cuz it was uploaded to UA-cam in 2019 but it turns out she was born in the year 2000.

I was profoundly moved and inspired by Sophie's remarkably optimistic and grateful outlook in life. Sophie's courage in dealing with unimaginable adversity is a credit to her resilient character and a credit to her christian upbringing, this young lady is going to change the world.

This woman is insanely inspirational! Not long ago I watched the 60 minutes episode and was in tears listening to baby Sophie scream in pain and saying no to people touching her. Now watching this amazing grown woman. Wow. 💖

I am SOOO happy to see Sophie now as a stunningly beautiful woman! She never lost her looks! And oh that personality is incredible isn't it!
The 60 Minutes episode was so gut wrenching. As a parent of a daughter who was born with a severe genetic syndrome that nearly cost her he life on an almost constant basis for, for sure the first 5 yeas which I'm still shocked we and she made it through. After two multiorgan transplants and countless operations and deadly infections She was sliced apart barbarically and patched back together so many times her body is just one big scar.
There is something that (being an agnostic, don't know if it's God or what, but something we can't see) whatever it is, puts inside these critically ill children that gives them something healthy people don't have. It's so special and so bright and it draws people in. It makes them a magnet of positivity and they have an empathy and a brilliant personality that is absolutely unmatched. It's like a sixth sense kind of thing.
Sophie absolutely has that. And of course her parents helped in guiding that. But it was placed in her when she was going through the worst of her injuries. And I know I sound strange saying that or like I must have a belief in God to thunk thus way. It's not that. It's a fact. Something happens to them. I know it from the kids we met while going through hospital stays and the Ronald McDonald House and being the mother to a very sick daughter who is about to be 18 next month.....but is still terminal. And we have yet to find a diagnosis but I passed it down to her unknowingly and am now very sick with the same things as her but they are progressing in adulthood instead of showing up inutero through growth retardation and lack of movement.
I wish we could have seen the painting he did of Sophie! I mean she needs butterflies all around her! What a fantastic interview and I am so glad to see her now so happy and bright. And now she is close to done growing so the operations on her grafts will be getting less and les and they will be and are less severe than before. What a life she has faced and come through more than most could ever comprehend. (I wonder what the conversation was like when her dad told her about her injuries, as mentioned in the 60 Minutes episode. And I wonder when he had it with her and her response at that news).
Well Sophie, if you read these comments, a big hug from me in Colorado, and I am so proud of the woman you have become. You have such a wonderful outlook on life and your heart needs an extre extra large graft because it is way to big for any human body could contain. 😉 You are a total inspiration and thank you for doing such meaningful charity work and helping kids who are going through their own horror story. You are so beautiful and so amazing! ❤️‍🩹❤😊

What a beautiful woman. I live in the US. I just turned 16 and was going thru/ recovering from major surgery when her burn accident happened to her in 2006. I just never heard her story before...I just watched her news story from when it first happened and was crying like a baby. She's an inspiration and I'm so thankful to the Lord that she lived and she wasn't taken off life support.

She is so incredible, but I have wondered why she didn't have a beautiful wig made but the way she just confidently found a style with the hair she has is so inspiring to me personally. I've started to lose my hair it's been devastating because women without hair or having hair loss is just something you never encounter until it starts happening to you and it leaves you feeling so insecure and feeling so alone in it. It's just a feeling like it's just you because there is just zero representation to make women feel normal who have hair loss. She's inspiring in so many ways and this may or may not be something she's ever heard before but she's such a face of inspiration for so many reasons but this is mine. Sophie you are incredible, what a light you are, what a fighter!! I'm so glad you exist and are thriving! ❤️
