KAYAKING THE RIVER NENE | First attempt

- So we have found ourselves in another lockdown, to keep ourselves amused and healthy our exercise today was attempting kayaking on the River Nene!
Now I haven’t been kayaking since I was in Thailand, and I’ve only ever used a hard one person kayak before .. so this will be a new experience for me. Emma’s Kayak is an inflatable two person one lol
I had a lovely walk from Peterborough city centre to Ferry Meadows, I was meeting Emma at Milton Bridge, from there we were going to attempt to kayak up the River Nene for a couple of miles and back, before the sun sets
I included some shots of my walk through Peterborough, along the Nene Valley Railway and in Woodston Nature reserve and Ferry Meadows. It is lovely seeing all the autumn colours 😃

I enjoyed the video a lot.it’s all good fun. But if you get the kayaking bug or the canoe. Please get some instruction . Stay safe & if you can DRY.

Very amusing, although sort of a shame you both stayed afloat 😊. I think I even prefer your 'local to Perterborough' videos to the exotic travel ones. They serve as a reminder to get out and appreciate what is on the doorstep, paticularly during these times

Ah we are both Peterborough born and raised, but I’ve moved around with work and lived all over ... was in Devon and Cornwall for 5 years maybe I picked up a twang
@@DrunkOnWanderlust I was once stuck in Amsterdam due to a cancelled flight. I ended up in a sports bar in Rembrandt Square during the World Cup. The barmaid was English and could speak Dutch, Spanish, Potuguese and English. But when she fell into English her accent took on a really thick "alright my lovely" Devon accent.

How fantastic it seems a lot of the other adventurers on UA-cam have paused during lockdown which is a shame ... you’ve shown that even following the rules everyone can still have some little mini adventures.

Aha 🤣🤣 when you get to my age, lighting is important! And yes I’m proud of emma... although she would have had to stick her bum over the side for a wee as there was nowhere we could have gotten out for most of it 🤣🤣🤣
