Hey guys come on.... 610 rear wheel horsepower equals 700 flywheel horsepower. Flywheel horsepower is how every manufacturer rates there engines. The base pull on this car was 400 rear wheel horse power which equals 460 flywheel horsepower, The factory rating on the LT1 and the SS is 455 horsepower. So Yeah, Frans video title " 700 hp NA LT1 is correct.
100% incorrect there genius. 10% loss from motor to wheels, therefore it makes around 660-670 at the motor.

Your doing the math backwards. They lose 10-12% from flywheel. So 12% of 700 is 84. Minus that from 700 equals 616whp. So it’s close enough to 700 to say that in my opinion.
@@joshcarman2664 10 to 12 % drivetrain loss for a normal rear wheel drivetrain is soft, 12 to 15% is where it should be fiqured. I also work off the actual chassis dyno figure and add the drivetrain loss to that to approximate the flywheel horsepower. C8 corvettes drivetrain loss works out to approx 12.5 % as the engine, trans/diff which is one unit are bolted together directly.
I love your attention to detail with making sure these things are driveable and durable. I couldn't agree more on doing a slightly smaller cam and it being driveable versus just chasing power numbers. Great content!

I’ve seen these base model LT1 get down to 3200 without taking out the entire interior. With a good driver and the right conditions this could possibly keep up with a C6Z for the most part.

Another awesome N/A build! They make some great numbers for the easy drivability! When I seen the base numbers it made I thought it would of been an A10, definitely lower for a manual, but that’s a crazy jump up, well done guys👍🏻
Camaro Lt1 I’ve noticed don’t make as much RWHP even tho it has the same engine as a SS . I’m thinking that since they don’t have as aggressive trans as maybe an SS does or the added cooling and features maybe it takes away a couple hp

It’s not even close to 1000 lbs difference. The difference is 500 lbs. Per GM the LT1 manual SS Curb weight is 3619 lbs

They do sell an engine dyno to measure flywheel horsepower though. Point your camera at one of those.

Impressive gains. My 18 SS 1LE weighs 3568 with half tank of fuel. I bet that LT1 is even lighter.

The LT1 is a engine. A 1LT is bare bones trim.
@jkp2712 False. LT1 is the base model V8 for the Camaro which also coincides with the nameplate of the engine, LT1. 1LT is V6 trim.
@@Cardiakk I looked up Chevy build and saw there is a LT1 trim. How dumb is that. I am a corvette guy. For corvettes. LT1 is the engine and 1LT is the base trim.

The car in the video is an LT1, basically the 1LT trim with a V8 in it, aka base model Camaro fascia.

This is a pretty impressive motor. My 421 ls3 makes 520whp on a middle of the road cam because I to fall into the don’t want bucking car crowd. Great work guys.

Great video! Question, so what if the fuel tank was 100% full of sunoco E85-R (race e85)? Would it help get more hp rather than 40/50% mixture? I'm from Texas, did a Gen 5 swap to a truck. Frankenstein cnc heads, msd intake, 103mm tb and El-c7 cam from TSP & 6l80e transmission.

1000lbs more than a C6Z? The fuck? 🤣 try maybe 400-500lbs more, my 17 1SS is in the 3600 range full weight, LT1s are lighter.
100% agree, 10whp is not worth it for a bucking, hard starting and rough idle car.
Also Camaro is I think only 250-300lbs heavier than a C6 Z06. Basically Camaro is just a Vette with a heavy passenger in it all the time.
C6Z are about 3k lbs on the dot, a full weight LT1 is 3500-3600lbs.

These guys are great but I must say… the LT1 camaro is NOT 1000 pounds heavier than a C6.. the LT1’s are known for their light weight at around 3500lbs curb. While a regular 1SS-2SS could be more like 3650-3800.
I don’t think a 2SS is 3800 pounds 😂, Leather seats and some extra sensors isn’t going to be 300 pounds extra. That’s like convertible territory. Also two 2SS 1LE car would be the heaviest due to wider rims/tires and a beefier suspension so he could be comparing it to that.
I have a 19 SS 1LE down here is south Louisiana. What numbers could I get on 93 octane being NA and maintain daily drive friendly? Creeping up on 40k miles.

Whoever that is that can’t sleep, they’re having DT’s(Delirium Tremens) from them energy drinks. Them drinks are no good. This condition typically lasts 3-4 days but can last as long as 8 days. Hang in there. Don’t pick up.

Drive ability over peak peak power. I agree I'd rather the drives like stock over the extra 10hp 610hp perfect driving car ac works and daily over the 620hp cuts off at lights and can't use ac
My 2022 SS was covered in oil when I went to do an oil change with only 15k miles. Dealer had to pull the motor and reseal the pan.

You’ll be about 440 to 450 15:15 whp with intake and headers and a solid tune.

@@RaceProvenMotorsports well that’s a fair point. The base line wasn’t out-a-wack. Typically I see NA H/C set ups on lt1s in the 550wheel range (no e). So it’s not clear to me where the extra 50ish is coming from with a “streetable” cam like you guys are using (which I COMPLETELY agree with) but…. the numbers are what they are and I’m not arguin. Correct. I believe A10 LT1's weigh in at 3600 or 3700. The M6 is slightly lighter so for sure about 3600-ish.
