hey man, quick tip... Your tags should be searchable phrases, not one word tags. If you begin typing "abart.." in the search bar, it will suggest searches that people are making for fiat abarths etc. Those suggestions are what should be your tags. For this video, a good tage would be "abarth exhaust before after". Your views and channel with be more searchable and will grow faster.
going to install catless downpipe on my q60 2.0 it already pops but really subtle.. I'm thinking that the cat is not letting the pops and bangs trough.. let's see what will happen this thursday really hyped xD
Where was this video when I was trying to put in my catless DP? Love the video, can't wait for more on the 500 Abarth series. The 124 Videos are great too, but I'm partial to these because I have one also!
No point when ECU tuning is so accessible and provides the correct and safe way to work with an O2 sensor. Bad o2 decisions that can impact how an ECU is reading an engines AFR can lead to blown engines.
@@PistonsAndPetrol thanks! im helping my friend install his DP. I did header/off-road pipes on an old F-Body and had to buy o2 sims... makes sense technology has advanced! :) thanks for quick reply
Nice vid on a cool car. It would have been very nice to get a before and after Dyno run. Also it sounds as though an aftermarket BOV has been added, or the stock diverter valve has been adjusted.
Thanks! We didn’t have a chance to get down to the day I before. We really wanted to. The BOV sounds like that because the car’s intake was not installed at that moment. You can hear the factory diverter venting when the turbo is running an open intake.
It’s done with tuning. Just a muffler delete will not so it on a 500 (and the Abarth 500’s don’t have mufflers). Just don’t get one that has the loud crackle sound. It leads you to pitted piston tops. A safe crackle tune is fine though. This video shows off the sound of the safe Tork version of that tune around 2:20. ua-cam.com/video/QKnppZsg8u4/v-deo.html
Before sounded better; after sounded hollow. Fiat should hire you all as their promo/commercial outfit as you do really nice cinematic stuff...not sure if they'd be on board with all the modding, but the cinematic shots seem to bring out the best of these cars...plus you can have more Italian models w/frothy, high whipped cream on their lattes ☕🇮🇹
Anthony Hanna the ECU will correct but after the adaptives finish their cycle, you won’t gain any more performance outside of quicker spool. That said, I would have to say that once tuning is involved, it’s an incredibly important modification. It allows the tuner to tune unfettered by catalyst protection.
How do you get rid of the check engine light? Also what kind of performance gains to get from this. And is the car able to relearn after putting a down pipe on? Thanks!
Adding a catless pipe will give you a nice midrange gain (around 10 hp) but you won't gain much up top without tuning for it. The car will throw a CEL until a cat code delete is done through tuning. You can try and trick the car into thinking it has a cat with spacers but it does not always work very well. On a positive note, the car maintains clean AFR's after the cat delete is installed even without tuning.
This is totally random, and I don’t mean any offense. But there’s totally a Snapchat filter that looks exactly like you in this video. It’s totally creeping me out how similar it is. Love the builds!
Shouldn't NEED a tune- However, for optimum performance gains and no codes, a tune is required- Tunes will make sure everything plays as nice as possible-
Alexander Pierorazio no. In fact catless downpipes cool down engine bays. A catalytic converter traps heat in the engine bay due to it being a physical restriction. After all, it’s job is to burn off the excess gasses.

Just did a catless DP, now it makes all the noises.

Just found this channel! Love it! Nice cars, mods and edits! Keep the good work guys!

A really well shot video!
Any recommendations for passing inspection with a catless dp? I haven't heard anything about John tuning them out but any help would be appreciated
Find yourself a dope inspector that passes your car regardless lol
Can I follow your modification series to modify my fiat Linea tjet? Or are there many difference between the 500 & the Linea?
The T-Jet is a bit different than the multiair in the 500. But if anything it should be easier to tune since its been out a lot longer
Subbed. Quality work sir!
Great video! The 500 is a Fun Car !
I know you put the sensor back but what do you do about your check engine light, do you just tune it out???
LUSFNA48 that’s right. 👍
do they sell o2 simulators for the abarth?

So the spark plug de foulers don't work i gather for these?
Will the catless downpipe make the car spit flames when it pops while driving?
likely

Just subscribed great videos keep the work up !
Hi there just bought my 500 today how can I make mine have backfire
Get a two step tune
Or just a muffler delete

What size is the bolt that holds the v clamp (between downpipe and turbo)?

YAYYYY !!! Finally a 500 !!!!
^,,^
very nice! but does the car still pass emissions after a cat delete? (assuming the person doing the inspection doesn't notice it visually?)
No…..
Hey I was just wondering if u need to tune the car after putting in a catless downpipe and if it will hurt the car to run it without a tune

Pistons & Petrol thank you very much! Off top , but do you know by chance the size of the hex bit for the rear calipers? 😁
Blake Eaton no worries. I don’t know what the size is off the top of my head.
Pistons & Petrol no problem at all. Thanks again!
What do you mean spacers..i have the dart.
Anyone know where to get that white front emblem?
Did u cover the engine light on this?
The check engine light was removed through ECU tuning. Thanks for watching 👍

Love the builds!
iRide the Eddie filter. It’s a thing lol
Nice Bro , basic 500 135 hp?
SayeR COK thanks! American Abarth 500’s start out with the same power and turbo as an Essesse.
+Pistons & Petrol USA sells the fiat turbo, which is the abarth 135hp , without the badges and seats of the abarth .
Does this need a tune or anything after install?
Shouldn't NEED a tune- However, for optimum performance gains and no codes, a tune is required- Tunes will make sure everything plays as nice as possible-
Did you come through idaho recently?
Not recently.
is the pop and bangs tune from eurocompulsion a good one?
Do you put a bung the second O2 sensor?
O2 sensors are in the standard OEM locations.
Will the downpipe cause the engine to overheat?
Alexander Pierorazio no. In fact catless downpipes cool down engine bays. A catalytic converter traps heat in the engine bay due to it being a physical restriction. After all, it’s job is to burn off the excess gasses.
cheers for clarifying that!
Is the fiat 595 abarth not sold in America.
No it’s not
Where did your purchase your down pipe?
Alexander Pierorazio damnfastdd.com
Beautiful B.C
He said wiggle the shaft...huh...huh...huh
Sounds good...😎
It’s a shame we can’t do this in the UK as it would fail its emissions test.
We had emissions testing in BC until a couple years back. Are you allowed to use a 200 cell cat?
Yes a 200 cell will pass an MOT. Find a friendly garage and you will pass with a decat.
Will not pass new UK/EU MOT which fails you instantly if the Check Engine Light is on or disabled.
I think I have the same Mastercraft ratchet.
Where is the abarth videos ?
Just put one out today :)
Pistons & Petrol what about for the fiat abarth not the 124
glad my state doesnt have an emissions test..
i do not hear any difference in sound
Sounds goods but lose the turbo sound, psssss
Skip to 10:21 for the before and after sounds.
Where did you get that downpipe I can’t find it online?
DamnFastDD.com
I have an Abarth how can I get more HP? Would a cold air intake work?
Dude...
