He was such a pleasant surprise in the mid 90's. Unquestionably put the Broncos organization on his back to 2 straight SBs. 7 playoff games he averaged 148.0 yds. He was that Horse on the side of the helmet. Salute TD
I meet Terrell Davis in the Mesa Mall in Grand Junction Colorado at a sports store after his rookie season signing his jersey pictures and rookie cards. I was so ecstatic to meet him! Of coarse I was like you’re the best in the league! You guys are going to the Super Bowl! Being a Broncos fan! He is a one of a kind player! Extremely nice in real life and seemed humble and down to earth! People say he didn’t deserve to be in the HOF. In my book he deserves it he was a special player and is a special person!
#30 should not be retired but kept on reserve for those who have that "underdog" persona. It is given to those with a chip on their shoulder and a -13 point underdog mentality. These two gentlemen represent that.
Proud to be a Coloradan who loves the Broncos! Lindsay is unbelievable and humbling to know he respectfully asked Terrell for his blessing. Also.. Not sure if it happened on purpose or a coincidence, but Terrell Davis aka TD - Phillip Lindsay aka Tasmanian Devil also TD...
I heard Lindsay called Tasmanian Devil by broadcaster, but that doesn't seem to fit--he's not really a spinner (though I am sure he could be if he wanted to). The D-Line of Denver calls him bulldog, but when I see Lindsay run, all I think is...*meep! meep!* and all pursuing defenders look like Wile E. Coyote.
That's really cool. The number was already out there for a grab but for a player to call a former hof player and ask for their number is a big deal and not only that but busting your butt for that number is even bigger. Wearing a certain number represent what it means to wear it on that team.
Retiring Jersey Numbers Why retiring Jerry numbers is odd, strange, and unnecessary, except under certain circumstances, in my opinion. One, it seems that when new players wear Jersey numbers legends of old dawned, they seem to become legends themselves. Many examples exist. #88 Goethe Dallas cowboys. Drew Pearson, Micheal Irvin, and den Bryant. All are legends in their own right. #20 for the Detroit lions. Billy Sims, Barry Sanders, and one before those two. Unaware of who, but I know one wore the number before the later mentioned above. Great players Jersey numbers hold great meaning. Great honor goes along with dawning these special numbers. Two, retiring numbers limits player optoins. Maybe a silly reason, but true nonetheless. Three, evidence of legends carrying on the memory and legacy of past players, as mentioned above, works to create a certain mystique with the number. Gives the player a sense of pride, and responsibility to be great. While I do enjoy players making a number, unworn by a legend, into legendary numbers. I think they should passed on. It allows younger fans to gain appreciation to franchise legends. And to infuse hope, excitement, and flashbacks to glory days of beloved players. On a differing note. I do like the idea of quarterback numbers being retired. The position is iconic, important, and really defines the leadership aspect of the game. These players, unlike any non QBS, are the face, leader, and most vital part of a teams success. There are also quaterbacks, in a sense, of the defensive side of the ball. No one can be #53 for the Baltimore ravens. No one can be #54 or #51 the bears. But these are leadership positions in football. In conclusion. Numbers worn by legends, non quarter back and middle linebackers, should not be retired, but passed on to players, of same positions, who are worthy of the honor to sport said number. To remind young fans of the history of the game. To create reminiscent joy of former legends to older fans who witnessed previous legends' greatness. Of course the specifics listed above, seem complicated, they justify the idiocracy of retiring Jersey numbers. The decision is ultimately up to the franchise. But the weight of each franchises history is a powerful force, able to reinvigorate the magic of a teams soul. An energy, franchises should use to their advantage, in order to spark new eras of success. In order to keep the spirit of a franchise alive, and give fans hope of new stories, memories to pass on. And when fans see the number, their hearts will glow with the, unbelievable love. Of footballs lessons of comradary, family, and of seeing the humanity in all. The realisation that we are all not so different. We are all just children. Children, deep within us all, is that little boy or girl, searching for heroes to emulate. In that process becoming heroes ourselves. So goes the cycle. Stories are who we are. And numbers, are own little artistic creation, a byproduct of our desire to understand the world we live in. The message of our art, unintionally creative, is the human need for understanding our deep connections to one another, while our ignorant sides seek misunderstanding. A side that looks, not for our similarities, but our differences. For exclusion rather than inclusion. Through adversity with others, people breed relationships that define ourselves as imdividuals. As we understand ourselves we find we all are looking for the love, only created within our connection to each other. This is why simple numbers can carry abundant emotions, fueled by our desire to bind the artform, that is learning, with human nature, to create a simple game. Just a game. Not about Ls or Ws. An ever evolving artform, constantly revolutionized, by different souls, sharing common love for a game manifested through our ability to cope with the unexplainable wonder, of our existence. Pass on some numbers. Leave some to become symbols of inspiration. Keep love in your heart, acknowledge hate as fear, and never stop the creative search for how to live life without wanting it to be over. With hope, love Just a person, like you in some way, How did I get here. By commenting on a creation, and realizing that understanding is the never ending learning experience that drives us all. P.S. If you read the whole comment, thank you. Reply if you so desire.
Good little read there primo. I like the whole aspect of us older fans getting nostalgic upon seeing a number previously with by a legend, now being worn by a young phenom and the responsibility/energy being reignited. 👍
As a Bronco fan seeing #30 give the mile high salute sure brings you back
Respect from Lindsey ✊

Lindsay is one of my favorite players atm. Cant wait to see his career explode
His run against the Steelers clocked in at 22+ MPH, the fastest run of the season. Faster than Saquon Barkley, Tyreek Hill, and anybody else
Is that true?
@@jordanpurdy4940 Yep. I believe it was changed to 21.9 MPH but it is still the fastest run to this point
@@nickwight3380 either way he is aspiration in the flesh
man STOP!!! you know thats not true or comfirmd lol
Don Da Drill that’s absolutely true, not sure what you’re talking about

This man is the reason I became a Broncos fan

Good catch!

AWESOME!!!!!!
TD is the man
Seeing someone not named Rid Smith wearing 80 is kinda weird too
TD, you the man bro! Wish you were still playing!

so cool! lindsay is so gooood!! - pats fan
Forrest Trump 😂
No joke, TD hasn't aged a bit.
TD, league MVP, those were the days.
Black don't crack
So, will Terrell Davis ever wear a Phillip Lindsay jersey?
TD A Class Act!
They do! ITS CALLED C60 MY NIGGA!
TD has always been a stand up cat.
Terrell Davis is definitely woke
Forgetting that Mike Bell wore 30 in the backfield briefly after TD.
Never Not Phil you noticed that too
Love me some TD
Mile High Salute!!!!
Easily the most underrated player Rn. Imagine his stats if he was an all down back.
IMO there ARE several numbers Denver should retire, but they have not.... Lindsay is class and respect and HEART
