WHOA!!!! don't get rid of those spoons, your father always leaves his in his ice cream container after he devours a 1/2 gallon french vanilla every night, yea that's right, every night. He'll love them especially the long ones, he hates getting his hands sticky. Love the video, keep up the good work. 👍

I used to work for goodwill. People definitely hide things, especially when we are going to have a sale the next day. Look for clothes hanging inside the rack behind the clothes, look in linens, pillows, bins, & stuffed animals for hidden loot. 😆

My Dad was Desert Packrat. You couldn't overlook anything when we went through his three different properties. He had an affinity for flatware. Picked it up like souvenirs no matter who's table he was eating at.

Speaking of knives.... I found 5 cutco knives today for $8 total! White handle and super pretty. I was so excited. Cutco is on my list of items I wanted to find this year and I did it before the end of January. Going to be hard to not keep them.

Wow, I would definitely have snagged the turtle shell for my personal collection of natural items (seashells, minerals, rocks, giant pinecones, antlers, etc) for my curiosity cabinet even if it was broken. I've found one small turtle shell in my decades of thrifting.
I used to pick up silverplate flatware all the time for a quarter per piece. You can look up the patterns on a lot of different websites. Usually the maker is stamped on the back but you need to research the pattern name in order to list it properly. Oneida, for example, is usually profitable. I've discovered that stainless flatware sells just as well, or better. At a quarter per piece it is easy money. It's rare but occasionally a sterling piece slips past them and they are certainly worth picking up.

Look for that silver spoon, serving platter, candlestick. Godinger (sp) is good reselling brand. Look at the Aluminum platters and the difference in weight from Wilson and Mexican products. Metals from India, Korea, Thailand and England. Good areas to dabble in. Be safe.

I wear maui jims. You can send them in and get those lens replaced for like $10. Maybe its $20. Anyway, they will repair them for cheap, i have broke my frames several times and had them replaced. On the Nikes, the ones in the last couple of decades also have production dates. So if you figure out what the shoe is with the code, you can use the production dates to see if they are legit. Its a good indicator anyway. They could always make a fake with the right production dates

Really enjoyed your example of the flatware odds and ends. There is some good money out there, even in stainless steel sets, but you have to know the brands and patterns. So many resellers just "pass up"whatever they aren't familiar with ...almost reveling in "not knowing". He who takes the tie to learn makes money. Be well.

Maaaanmnn... Our Goodwill's don't sell anything under $5.99... hats usually run about $7.99 each, so I only pickup if I can sell per comps at about 3-10x the price, factoring free shipping. I have come up though on some great hats at times. Shoes are at least $9.99-29.99, so I've almost given up on shoes unless they're rare again per comps. I've always had better luck with salvation army per comps. With Goodwill I have to wait till they're one color half off deals. Loving your pricing at your Goodwill's!

If you are getting into silverware, be careful of silverplate sets at sales that are put together with rubber bands. They eat away the silverplate. Silverplate should be batched with paper, or twist ties, never rubber bands.
The Mid-century sets are still collectable. Serving pieces, Ice Tea spoons, demitasse spoons are easy sales. Older sets have interesting pieces such as tomato servers, pickle or olive forks, seafood forks (long thin two-pronged) cake servers, etc.

When we find silverware we try to lot them all together showing how many place settings we have in the title. With yours it's kind of hard to do that because of all the spoons. Those long stir spoons should sell fast. The rest should do alright as well. I "think" that was a pretty common pattern. Pretty sure my grandma had it.
The trick with selling sets of flatware/silverware is in the shipping. They get heavy really fast, but they also fit comfortably in either a Region A, B or medium flat rate. I've heard of some folks wrapping them up and stuffing them in flat rate envelopes...I couldn't do that with a $200 set of flatware (or higher. Flatware can get bonkers). That just wouldn't represent what our business is about.

Love your videos. Thank you so much for sharing. I see you sell a lot of hats. How do you ship them? Do you stuff them with something, so they don't get flat? Do you ship them in a box or poly? Thanks.

Julian finally watched a couple of your video's. Nice!! I wish I could (break, my scarred thoughts of posting). I know o easily have 35-45 golf clubs. But my doubts over power, Ugh!!! I hate it. But nice video's, very much enjoyed. And I took a pic of your golf club list, hopefully it will help. Ok just wondering, do you make your own box when it comes to shipping boxes for the golf clubs, if not where do you get yours? Thanks

i still use the triangle boxes from the USPS website but anything over a 6 iron you have to put two together - if you dont want to build them I buy some from uline - 4x4x48 seem to work very well =)
      you got this =)

@@beardedthriftmachine how about I just ship them all to you, and we split the profit??. Kidding, (somewhat, ). I'll get it together, at least hopefully. 😅

@@shawnblevins2138 start with a putter or a wedge and just one club not a set :) they are the easiest to list and ship then after one you'll be a pro 😀

I'm already getting frustrated with Ebay. I just started to list items and start reselling and in the last week I've had 3 buyers make offers which ended up being scammers asking me to text them. I'm really disappointed. I was going to list a bunch of new items today but after a 3rd scammer today I just gave up. Any advice for a new seller?

Yea the scammers will stop in the first 3 weeks or so. My dad went through the same thing once you start selling some items the scammers go away for the most part

Okay, I've gotta say it. I like your videos, have been watching for a few weeks and enjoy seeing what you are picking up. However........ could you PLEASE slow down your commentary, just a wee bit? I am a fast talker myself, so I know you are just excited to share what you have there, but even giving it my full attention, sometimes the words just FLY past me! Honestly, I am not the type to say anything negative, and your content is good. however, I'm concerned folks will give up watching because they can't understand/follow what you are saying. Just a wee bit of constructive criticism from someone who wants to see you be successful and I hope you take it as such.

In the upper right corner of the video is 3 dots. If you click on them you can select speed, and slow it down to your liking. Hope that helps! (I watch the videos sped up to 1.5)

I don’t get it. Your training your competition causing the thrift stores to raise their prices. I know you make money off utube also but you and u tubers like you are making it harder on people just doing this to make a living
