Your videos always make my day, Thank you so much Robert. Amazing P2 usage, always a fan of seeing it used creatively and I'd love to see a deluxe show-off version of your Orrery!
The Antikythera machine, found in an ancient shipwreck, could show us how to build an accurate mechanical orrery! It accurately calculated eclipses, lunar phases, and was a hand-wound gear system.
Great to see you back doing what you like Robert. And what better than a simple demo to illustrate the awesome performance of the laser cutter. Nice Irish accent by the way..😉👍
This would have been a perfect example for a tarin of gears and a cheaper motor. More complicated. But learning to control motor speed through gear reduction is always a great lesson to teach.
Robert I remember you back in the day smoking talking life lessons in your videos. Bring some of those back without the smoking lol you seem so happy now God bless
I kinda like the smoking with a dirty coffee cup in hand relatable lol but if he has quit I'd not encourage him to pick it back up but I do miss the old garage episodes , ripping junk apart to Make something but maybe he isn't ready to go back to that just yet

I'd be tempted to make the Sun big enough to take a button battery and some LEDs around the circumference, in the dark it'd show phases of the moon. I think it should be possible, using a stepper motor and a timer, to advance it one step a day, though it might need careful choosing of the gear ratios.
@@ThinkingandTinkering My thoughts were partly from thinking you live near the coast, so, as moon phases also give tidal info, it'd be kind of nice to give it a bit of extra functionality. Hmm I think over time pushing down on a switch will weaken and break the Sun support mount, if it's left as plastic...So...For a deluxe version it'd be nice to also get rid of the separate Sun battery. Maybe concentric metal disks in the base plate, offset in height with the 2, conductive, outer parts of that support matching different lengths. The idea there is to mechanically stop the Sun support itself from spinning and keep the pos/neg feeds going to the right places That way an on/off switch could be incorporated somewhere more robust and also it eliminates one battery.
that's an incredible coincidence that it's a cœlestial clock named after a person whose name starts with "Orrer". Was his childhood nickname Mr. Hourly? 😅 Let me guess, he was said to be the son of Horus?😂
Can you show us how an Orgone Collector from Wilhelm Reich is correctly built? I remember a 1953 Encyclopedia Britanica old edition when I was a kid in the '70's, but not clearly
Hi Robert, Love your videos they are always educational. I recently came across a video called "I Made a Tree Generate Electricity" please search this to find, I immediately thought that you would really appreciate this, and would try to replicate and share your findings and might even improve it further.
Hi, Sorry to ask a non related question. Have you seen the company @flowerturbibes with their tulip turbine? Sorry if I have missed this but have you done a review of what they are claiming / doing? Thanks Phil

do you know i am thinking of doing exactly that! - i am glad you like the vids mate
Thanks Robert, your enthusiasm is contagious. Cheers 👍💪✌
cheers mate
Thank you for putting Patti in full view on the poster.
Such a special person.
she will always be with me

it is a very cool mechanism for sure
@@ThinkingandTinkering so you decided to build it! Fascinating results!

do you know i think that is the first time someone has noticed that i am in fact Irish lol - I am from Northern Ireland - awesome mate
0:18 lol love the quick language lesson.
Very cool result from using multiple tools. Highlights their pros very well.
cheers mate

Again, a great video example of the application of the technology.
cheers mate - i am glad you liked it
😊👍 great job can see your enjoying the new machines 😊and with great results
it is pretty cool!
The laser cutter is cool.
cheers mate
Nice Robert! It's amazing how sharp the edges are coming out of the Xtool. Makes for a fast project. Thanks for the video Robert! Keep them coming!
i have to say mate - i was impressed
@@ThinkingandTinkering Totally agree, most impressive.

Every home should have a magnificent laser cutter like Robert... please send me one! 😋
the minute i get a spare one mate!

Orrerys are cool ☀🌍🌑
yes they are!
Well, that's cool, thanks. I even have one of those yellow gear motor things in the junk box. Doesn't look all that ornery to make.
lol - it was a piece of cake mate
sublime!...brilliant.

I am sorry mate i don't know how to do that
I suppose you might be limited to making spur gears with acrylic. are they the same, better or worse then 3d printed.
i suspect better
Oops. Reverse your drive. Planet both rotates and orbits the sun anti-clockwise. Otherwise this is brilliant.
lol - cheers mate - all you have to do is swap the wires
@ThinkingandTinkering yup I'd figured that. lol just saying for accuracy sake.
Connotations of Monty Python, not sure why though?😂
lol - that is funny - i am not sure why either - but i liked it
