this is incredible. Coromandel itself is one of the most beautiful places i’ve been, and this house perfectly compliments it. the fact that it's 21 years old is kind of shocking, it looks pristine.
Brilliant design and excellently executed. The fact that it's 21 years old and still looks new is testament to it's clever design and use of materials. A few things that didn't seem to be covered though is, does it have a septic tank and why no solar panels? I love the drawbridge decks but would constantly worry about young kids falling off.
This is spectacular. I can't believe it's nearly 21 years old. If you'd told me it was 5 years old, I'd have believed you. I guess that's what great design is all about.
I could listen to him describe this all day, as I don’t need a dictionary or google archispeak translate to understand him. Beautiful project, and incredible that it is 21 years old. More of these please. Less of the bifurcationing and juxtapositioning…..
'Simple does not necessaryly mean easy'...this is one of the best examples of the care and attention that is possible in the design of 'a simple box'. Restraint...at it's most understated form...beautifully executed...and well maintained Thanks for sharing. John Ferraz Architect.
I absolutely love this. What a wonderful space to share with loved ones….and the LOCATION!!!!!! OMG, so,beautiful. You are very privileged to have this.
I like many of the other people who commented, I am surprised that the home is over 20 years old. It looks brand new. It's such a beautiful design which fits so perfectly into the environment in which it was built. The ability to open the doors to a magnificent view is fantastic. I love the bathtub on wheels and the drawbridge and I love that the house can be closed tight while you are gone. It's lovely! I'm thankful that you took risks in the design which worked out well.
Interesting that this cabin was built 25 years ago. Olson Kundig's widely acclaimed & ubiquitously published False Bay Writer's Cabin - with the same folding shutters/decks setup which I'd erroneously assumed to be innovative - wasn't built until 2010 (12 years ago). So a belated tip of the hat to Mr. Crosson for coming up with the system for his experimental cabin! (And he's right: the interiors still look pristine thanks no doubt to being battened up most of the year.)
Thank you. I wasnt aware of that. It seems that Kundig's cabin is using motor for lifting the deck. Do you know if this one is opened/closed manualy? There are some things visible at 3:49 where you can wind the rope for the smaller part of the decs. I am not sure if it would work for the big deck at the front.
I just want to know if there's any flies and/or mosquitos? I found out cabins in the mountains have so many flies it's impossible to leave open indoor/outdoor space!
Now imagine that 20 families have access to it and it does not just sit there, unused most of the times. (And before you say: "but multiple families would break things much faster"... Well, in this world, that I imagine, there is a consciousness change in everyone and we all take care of things JUST LIKE WE WOULD AS IF THEY ARE OURS...)
Love this house. Absolutely perfect. Anyone know how the pulley system works? Not sure if it’s manual or wired to a small motor. Looks like the end of the rope goes under the deck… but I’m intrigued where that goes.
I'm reading all these comments about the fact that the house is 21 years old and looks brand new. I think there are two factors in play here. First, there were obviously good choices made in the design and construction of the house and second, and more important in my opinion, it's a vacation home so it doesn't see the day to day bumps and bruises a full time residence would. It probably has a cumulative "lived in" time of a couple of years. Beautiful home and beautiful location.
Oh my, that gorgeous bath! Adore it. What a super idea. I hope there are brakes on the wheels. Ha ha. Or not! Raise those side wings and take to the skies. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It struck me as utilitarian. It forces you to engage with the outdoors. Like the cabins I stayed at in Canada which were minimalistic. It's a creative and inventive house. Unusual. Thankyou
Amazing living space Are their many bird casualties due to the windows on both sides? Is there a treatment on the windows to protect the bird population? Not critical just curious if this is problematic due to the windows opposite of each other?
I've always loved this house, and reached out to the firm that designed it, but never heard back from them. Perhaps I'll give it another try. You can't help but love the simplicity of it.
Absolutely loved this house. The experience of place and of the materials is deeply satisfying, even when experienced virtually. The down-to-earth, unfussy approach proves that a seemingly simple, prosaic building can answer the users' needs over time AND photograph well. This house is a source of valuable lessons for architects everywhere.
There is a saying, in some towns, the sidewalks are folded up... yeah, makes me remember. Nevertheless, cool idea. Just to put some brakes on the bathtub. Or a parachute.

You’d want to lock those wheels on that bath before entering it - you may end up taking a bath in that beautiful bay itself. 🤔
🤭🤭
I love projects like this, I want one for myself! My mind was blown when he said it was 21 years old.. I thought it was newly built

how to even get a building permit for such a property?
"A refined way of camping" Perfectly stated! Quite an interesting and certainly unique getaway! Nice and private! Like his shirt too!
Benefit to the wheeled bathtub, you can wheel your mate right off the deck. ;)
😂 😂 😂
It'll be a fun bobsled ride down the hill 😂
3:49 GENIUS. Now I am thinking to drive in the city in a bathtub...
imagine rolling out the tub and you push too hard 😭
not me picturing the bath tub falling off the ledge when someones in it
This is spectacular. I can't believe it's nearly 21 years old. If you'd told me it was 5 years old, I'd have believed you. I guess that's what great design is all about.
beautiful but I would not call is a tiny cabin. It is not tiny nor is it a cabin. Smiles.
I could listen to him describe this all day, as I don’t need a dictionary or google archispeak translate to understand him.
Beautiful project, and incredible that it is 21 years old.
More of these please. Less of the bifurcationing and juxtapositioning…..
what no cabana hut or pool?
The design, location, and the phenomenal rolling tub!!!! Yes, Yes, Yes! Kudos!
One of the most amazing structures in the world. Have always loved this project - applause Thanks for the first hand narrative
A slight overstatement mate
It Looks Like You're Taking Some Risks With That Bathtub, Well, ..I'm Sure You'll Figure It Out~!!!
'Simple does not necessaryly mean easy'...this is one of the best examples of the care and attention that is possible in the design of 'a simple box'.
Restraint...at it's most understated form...beautifully executed...and well maintained
Thanks for sharing.

thats incredible .. i thought it was a new build .. wow timeless!
Reminder to self: Put on the brakes of the bathtub.
Awesome project indeed. It's breathtaking, as the mobile tub, I'm so sold.
Wait guys, if the bathtub rolls on wheels, how do u empty the water? Do u jus tip the whole tub over the edge?

I'm living in a wonderful natural environment like in this video.
Now, If I could have a tiny cabin in this video, I can't ask for more. 👍
This legit is like my dream house! The view god damn it! Every video I see in this channel is straight out of dreams!

Man, what a spectacular location!
Congratulations, beautiful design! Is there somewhere I can see construction plans? Thank you!
More than construction plans, architectural plans
I love this channel so much
Same
Same
There it is 🙃 my very own definition of highly intelligent construction 🤩👌🏽✨ Magnificently impeccable end result! Major props to the teams.
Hopefully the tub doesn't roll off the deck!
The dream
3:52 If you forget to lock the wheels...
Very good, just magical!
This is an IDEAL vacation home. You have peace of mind when you are there AND when you are not there!!!! Excellent job!!!
Noah's ark ❤️ beautiful
Are there brakes on the bathtub?!?!!?!? LOL
Amazing........👍👍👍.....ooohhh what's a cleaver ness of this Beautiful Architecture work.....
I wanna know how much this place costs?
Home is “a repository of memories”. How lucky are the extended families to be enjoying this, too!
Merci, Mr. Bach! Delicious...
21 years?! You could have told me it was a year old and I would have just thought you had gotten pre-weathered wood for the cladding, decks, etc.
How do you get a permit for this?
Lovely house in a beautiful environment, though I would love to know how water, electrics, utility services are managed.
Amazing video! Great content!
Beaut place and great not to hear the faf
I just want to know if there's any flies and/or mosquitos? I found out cabins in the mountains have so many flies it's impossible to leave open indoor/outdoor space!
built 21 years ago and looking very contemporary, that's really impressive
Hope that tub got a break.

Beautiful home and beautiful location.
I hope that bath has brakes. Foldaway decking is quite a nice touch of practicality and security.

I love that rolling tub!
Respect of the nature, that's what a good architecture delivers.
Nature, thank you for your beauty! Crosson Architects, brilliant work!
Incredible! But it's not tiny at all lol
I love the way that Ken talks about the project, such pride in his descriptions
Oh my, that gorgeous bath! Adore it. What a super idea. I hope there are brakes on the wheels. Ha ha. Or not! Raise those side wings and take to the skies. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I would sleep like a baby in this place with the air moving through.
Incredible Outstanding Beautiful 👍🏿
great!!
Fantastic design. So livable, unique and sublime...!!! ♥
speechless setup with nature .....peace and relax living .....
Very nice person and I like what he said about experimentation, I couldn't agree more 👍 and turned to be a success 👍
tiny?
21 years and still looks modern and pristine! What an achievement!
I love the drawbridge walls, but how do you get in to the house to open it up? I image there's a side door they didn't show for security reasons.
Awesome cabin, so beautiful. Cool decks!
What song is playing in this video? It’s really lovely.
What's amazing camping 💧🌳☁️.)
Amazing living space Are their many bird casualties due to the windows on both sides? Is there a treatment on the windows to protect the bird population? Not critical just curious if this is problematic due to the windows opposite of each other?
I can see myself rolling off the side in the bathtub smile 😊
I've always loved this house, and reached out to the firm that designed it, but never heard back from them. Perhaps I'll give it another try. You can't help but love the simplicity of it.
This view reminds me Hobart Tasmania, the view in Taroona. Love love love it!
What a beautifully designed modern cabin.
Oh but when i “explore social conventions” in Walmart I go to jail
Wow this is outstanding I have rewatched it and that bathtub idea is the best. Definitely incorporating it
The coffee machine is NOT an appliance, its an art installation.
With all that wood makes it not environmentally friendly at all. But wokes are like that, rules don't apply to them only to others.
An amazing building, holding out on mentioning its age made for a pleasant surprise
Oops! It seems I went and fell in love with this one! Absolutely stunning!

I'm curious to know the amount of design staff and hours for this project
the background sound is so so relaxing , does anyone know what kinda "soundtrack" is that!?
Watching this has been exciting and given me hope . Big thanks!
WOW.. stunning.. I love the design and the view of nature as well! 👍
At 03:52 I want to doublecheck to make sure there are brakes on those wheels and they are activated!
This house is incredible.... beautiful proyect.
Love all the designs from Local Project, simple yet elegant. It would be nice if a diagram was presented to see the total home.
this project is just amazing
How can people live with zero privacy and a permanent audience?
Really nice!
Beautiful house and location, a house for a lifetime.
Excellent design and execution.
A bath on wheels, brilliant!
Unreal. What are the dimensions?
There is a saying, in some towns, the sidewalks are folded up... yeah, makes me remember. Nevertheless, cool idea. Just to put some brakes on the bathtub. Or a parachute.
