You're very fortunate to have experienced this interaction with this majestic creature. Beautiful shots of him. He's awesome in every way. Please make sure you respect him. Every one of these bird of prey are precious.
Cool hawk...those are some brave birds...Thats really nice and considerate that you would cut the throttle so it didn't get hurt.. It might have been trying to protect it's family. Love this video man
You cant compare to the speed and agility of that hawk. Amazing shots & the video really shows they're masters of the sky. Imagine if you were a small bird!
This video was just featured on a Turkish tv show! Unfortunately the link to this video wasn't provided, only the name "rctestflight" swooped by in the credits.
Thanks for the compilation of stills at the end, and for being considerate of the hawk, recognizing that it really is 'his airspace'. Hope you can continue to amicably share the sky without injury to aircraft or bird.
Hawks are very territorial they will run off or kill any other bird in there territory that why most big airports went from hiring people to shoot and scare birds away from the airport to bird handlers with hawks that stay and work the airspace at the airport. a hawk will keep its distance from major airplanes but attack anything that flys that bird sized...
I didn't have a camera on my Timber 1.5 (With Floats) this summer late in the evening. Just getting in about 3 batteries worth flying around our cove. About 30 minutes before dark a Great Blue Heron flies into the cove. I've seen him or her for years. A regular in our cove. I was quite surprised to see, as I was flying out of the cove towards the main body of the lake and the heron flying about 50 yards to the right of the cove, make a 180 and start chasing the plane. Great Blue Herons aren't the nimblest of flyers, so any time I made a left turn, or changed altitude I lost him/her. But the heron continued to give chase till I reached my 5 minute alarm and landed. Then it flew over me and the Timber and let out this Jurassic Park/Dinosaur screech all the way down the end of our cove. (He/She was pissed) Very memorable flight. Wished I had a camera!
The Flying Gasmask If this hawk wanted to knock of these RC to the ground, it could. It's just slapping the mechanical bird on the back of its head to get it out of its space.
BTW, kudos for your concern about the Hawk. He was just protecting his turf and thought you were an intruder. I particularly like when you cut your engine in the likely event the Hawk came in contact with your propeller, which he did! I have bookmarked your video and plan on forwarding it to a lot of people who will enjoy it. Many thanks again for all the effort you put into it and your concern for the Hawk. He was just doing his job and was damn good at it!
Those are some amazing shots you've captured! It's easy to see why they're such great hunters especially when you watch the stills. Excellent documentary. Thanks!
That's a peregrine falcon. You can tell by the dark and light feather pattern on the legs and belly, and the two bands arounds & below the eyes. Also, it's the world's fastest animal (max speed of 200 mph in a dive). I saw one absolutely wreck a pigeon once here in Seattle, was surprised to see one in the heart of the city.
"max speed in dive" by that you mean "falling to the ground they can achieve higher speeds then other animals" as humans can only fall at 195 kph due to drag.
I dont know where this guy lives but the bird looks more like a Swainson's Hawk. Considering their range covers the western half the United States, I say it's a match. The main problem is the Peregrine Falcon (my favorite bird) is white and blueish grey, the bird in the video is primarily red. Another thing is, falcon wings are much more pointy than the bird in this video
That is a Swainsons hawk. They're about the same size as red tailed hawk. We have several of them around our house in summer time. They migrate to Argentina for the winter. During nesting season they routinely attack me while I'm working out in the yard. I've seen the same attack scenes up close and personal many times.
Amazing footage indeed. Such a majestic animal. But if this hawk moved in permanently he's gonna become an annoyance when flying. I'd suggest weaponizing your RC plane with a back-facing squirt-gun. He might have enough, of being blasted in the face with water, after a while and just let your plane leave-be. Or it might actually aggro him to the point he'll rip your plane apart. So, yeah...put up with him or deal with him. Either way, don't use anything that could damage this wonderful creature. P.S.: Maybe you wanna strap a dead mouse/rat on the top of the plane for him to pick up and then bugger off to eat it and leave you alone. If you can't beat'em - feed'em! You might wanna build a prop cover for the top section to make sure he doesn't get hurt by doing his dive-bombs.
I had a seagull attack a couple of days ago which nearly took down my Q500+ into the sea! Obviously this is a common problem. Have some great footage of it. Thanks for sharing
Yes I saw that too ... impressive thinking for high-energy zoom-attack-climb-dive-attack again .... smart bird .... very “Fighting Tigers” P-40s tactics ....... saved a lot of energy instead of high-G turns and needing to accelerate instead of dive. Using its speed advantage economically.
Great footige sir! :D That was fun to watch :) Did you know birds of prey will mostly attack planes with a longer nose?? :) Cheers and thanks for the entertainment :)
ark13700 Are you saying that a hawk knows all about human technology, and knows what a toy is? Don't know much about wild-life, and what they will do to protect their territory and young, do you?
Mazda rx7 I'm saying is that the toy plane poses minimal threat to its offspring. Yes I do know that the bird would obviously keep seeing it as a threat. The hawk getting tired on the occasions that the guy flies his plane isn't a good thing, but at least it isn't a real bird that would actually kill its younglings.
If it were a real bird the hawk would have chased it off or killed and ate it.. Kinda hard for a bird to digest plastic. and as stated in the vid, they knew they were aggravating the bird and continued to do so.. They thought aggravating the hawk was so much fun that they mounted a cam on the AC to get closer vids. I guess the way you think , it's ok to go out on ATV's r dirt bike and chase deer or other wild life through the woods
By what? Why would it get hurt attacking the plane? Normally it would be attacking another actual bird, and they would fight back. Its actually safer for it to attack the plane than a real bird
Great throttle work- and FANTASTIC camera work! I've only been chased once, by 3 crows working in concert. Of course, no camera, but it was fun to watch. They were great flyers, too- I was doing evasive aerobatics, and they were, of course, 50 times better than me
From the "Dinosaur" article on Wikipedia: ...Until the late 20th century, all groups of dinosaurs were believed to be extinct; however, the fossil record indicates that birds are the modern descendants of feathered dinosaurs, having evolved from theropod ancestors during the Jurassic Period,[3] and are now termed "avian dinosaurs". I knew that I would encounter backlash comments here, but I just had to see for myself. I'm pretty sure this didn't stress the hawk very much, they are resilient, beautiful animals. This doesn't come close to being cruelty.
Great vid! I'm sure some peeps have complained. Thanks for being considerate to not hurt the birdie. Throw an induction fan beast up and see if it can catch you then.
That hawk is really ticked off seeing this strange looking bird loitering around his territory. lol
idk why this made me laugh lol
Bro this made me laugh
Hawk: "What the fxxk? How dare he flys around my territory"
Hawk Force One
indeed
Bird porn 2:28
Yes_ , lol

You were not cleared through the Class H (hawk) Airspace.
Fha (federal hawk administration) is gonna go after him
if i was the hawk ..i would drop a "drop" to his face ..
Use birdseed as flares
-_ you mean tree rats?
The hawk made several attempts to intercept.
I like how you throttled down the motor everytime the hawk approached. Nice job. Thumbs up!
That are the pictures a mouse would see last...
superdau hahaha
lol
The pilot of that plane was a mouse
Don’t be silly. The mouse would never see what killed it😂
ALSO THE PICTURES AN IRAQI LIL CHILD WOULD SEE LAST WHEN THE AIR FORCE BOMBS THEM 😡🤬🤬☠️
Cool hawk...those are some brave birds...Thats really nice and considerate that you would cut the throttle so it didn't get hurt.. It might have been trying to protect it's family. Love this video man
+Christopher Barron I thought the same thing.
+Christopher Barron "so it didn't get hurt" ? Mount some turrets and chase the scumbag :D HAWK Operation is so on :D
+Christopher Barron not a hawk that's a paragon falcon ,also at 150 it would have destroyed the plane and escaped undamaged
+deathbunny interesting how can you tell?
Christopher Barron feather patterning and wing arches
Angry bird(s)
Mount chunks of beef on the BBQ sticks and set the GoPro to record the take at 240fps, it's like telling the bird thanks for the awesome footage.
Green Silver I just said that before I read your post haha.
You cant compare to the speed and agility of that hawk. Amazing shots & the video really shows they're masters of the sky. Imagine if you were a small bird!
@John They could, but they consider it an advantage.
yea the hawk is fast thanks to its evolution and its wide wings
This video was just featured on a Turkish tv show! Unfortunately the link to this video wasn't provided, only the name "rctestflight" swooped by in the credits.
Abdumalik Mustapha "swooped" i see what you did there
Thanks for the compilation of stills at the end, and for being considerate of the hawk, recognizing that it really is 'his airspace'. Hope you can continue to amicably share the sky without injury to aircraft or bird.
Crazy Bird's there :) very nice catch on Video thumb up greetings from Switzerland.
There is it’s nest around!

john brady yep especially goshawks and red tailed hawk are mostly used at airports
3:54 Thug life
do some dogfighting with it
The Flying Gasmask If this hawk wanted to knock of these RC to the ground, it could. It's just slapping the mechanical bird on the back of its head to get it out of its space.
JoeOvercoat still... dogfight with it
The Flying Gasmask Yah, then one can go from scrappy RC to scrapped RC with style!
JoeOvercoat drone? there is no drone here...
The Flying Gasmask Better? It's hard to be pithy with "remote control airplane equipped with an onboard sensor". :P
BTW, kudos for your concern about the Hawk. He was just protecting his turf and thought you were an intruder. I particularly like when you cut your engine in the likely event the Hawk came in contact with your propeller, which he did!

+Joe Cro Damn straight.
The true Angry Bird :D
Well done for choosing to make the most of the hawk. Amazing shots - the best I have seen on youtube.
Poor hawk! It believes the plane is a competing rival!
The plane: Just having a nice time
The hawk: *ima boutta end this mans whole flying career*
Incredible! The hawk needs some cannons to fire at your plane... :)
Actually it has some air to air&ground bombs
+Тимур Т haha I get what your talking about
ya... I clean those bombs off my car windows frequently...
That plane needs guns to shoot the bird put a pellet gun :) haha co2 powered haha that will do the job
Ricardo Alcaraz that would kill it pellet guns kill Birds Easily
Spectacular shots Dan!!
You must send them to GoPro, sure to be the vid of the week.
This will have a million hits for sure.
Way kool man

"max speed in dive" by that you mean "falling to the ground they can achieve higher speeds then other animals" as humans can only fall at 195 kph due to drag.
Some large cities purposefully "release" falcons in the city to keep pigeon populations in check.

Peregrines the fastest bird in a dive, and does it by making itself streamlined (its definitely not a kestrel ,or a peregrine )
Amazing Birds Hawk's are. He was just telling you that you were in his TCA and HE was the air traffic controller and in charge.
This is a Swainson's Hawk (Buteo swainsoni). Great video. It's amazing to see the sheer velocity that the bird has as it dive bombs your plane!
That is really awesome , but I think the reason why the hawk is attacking your plane because there might be its nest near by , but great video :)
These are some of the most beautiful still photos of a bird that I've ever seen. Great job.
wow, those still shots are really cool. Even when a hawk is trying to knock you out of the air, it still looks amazing.
This is the best footage on UA-cam of birds attacking a plane. Excellent job mate this is quality
Those birds are magnificent.
Awesome Prictures at the End and a very beautiful Bird !
My son is obsessed with birding, and he says it is a juvenile Ferruginous Hawk.
It's a Falcon.
I think i am obsessed with birding too, i think it's a large bird
I think i am obsessed with birding too, ask churches chicken.
Ferruginous Hawk has a more angular face with eyes similar to an eagle. This bird looks like a falcon.
Like your "Angry Bird" video. You never cease to amaze!
I say, ah ... ah boy..... ah... thats not a chicken, boy !
but i'mma chicken hawk
Some of the best FPV stills I've seen. Awesome!

Lots of other places to fly.
These are some really awesome shots - thanks for sharing !
Tell that hawk to try that at Atlanta Airport.
ZOE SMITH thats kinda great sometimes birds can get eaten by the plane engine so i don't think it's a good idea lol
This actually is one of the best RC plane videos on the Internet - not kidding!
It wants to mate the plane :D
lol ew
Boi you nasty
i have a boner...
Hawk be like "Damn, is that one of them new Sex Robots I keep hearing about?"
*•w•*
I had a seagull attack a couple of days ago which nearly took down my Q500+ into the sea! Obviously this is a common problem. Have some great footage of it. Thanks for sharing
Alternate title: How to stress out a bird
It's like stressing out an SS officer.
That hawk is a true patriot for protecting its airspace
THIS WOULD "NOT" HAVE HAPPENED...= IF YOU DIDN'T USE A BIG, FATT, JUICY MOUSE -AS A PILOT......!!!!
Really good shots! Awesome seeing the full motion of the hawk attacking its pray. This could almost be used for a study on them.
1:19 - And pause :)

Hawk: hold my beer

DutchRC ADVENTURES I didn't know that :P Forreal?
Roeland Drupsteen That's what I was told by a birdspotter :)
Probably the coolest thing I have seen on youtube. thanks for the still shots.
What a beautiful bird.
Looks like a Coopers Hawk.
+Michael Kirst Red Tailed Hawk
This is amazing footage…so cool to see something that without technology would have never be seen!
Would you like it if someone were to disturb your infant in his/her crib?
+Mazda rx7 smart comment, fkn human are stupid !
+Solomon Pilot
might be an issue if the plane was actually another bird that wanted some chow.

Wasn't it hurt?
lilililililil no
By what? Why would it get hurt attacking the plane? Normally it would be attacking another actual bird, and they would fight back. Its actually safer for it to attack the plane than a real bird
very kind of you to stop the motor to protect the hawk! Very nice shots!
lol stupid bird
+Japie Scholtz someones mad XD
word
Beautiful shots, mate. Worthy of an Attenborough show.
leave the bird alone....dont tease him for you fun....
the bird moved into an area they had been using then bird starts attacking...you need to message the bird i think!
no cause he was just flying and that drone just came in hes way
so amazing....awesome shots by both the hawk and your cameras... incredible footage and skills rigging the plane n flying....amazing stills ...
Nice example of precision flying by the hawk. Great video as well.
Wow, Amazing photos. Thanks for sharing!

That's a keeper shot. Awesome work dude.
Nice work sharing a "conversation" with nature.
That's amazing. Some of those stills are incredible.

WOW! Awesome footage! Posting this to our Facebook page. Thanks for the upload!
Incredible shots! The stills especially, suitable for framing.....
Awesome video! Those shots were amazing! Best I've ever seen!
Wow Daniel! ! That is some terrific footage, the still at the end are amazing
Oh and how is that rc timer camera compared to a mobius
I really enjoyed your video. Plenty of action and great shots between the plane and the Hawk.
That was F-n cool & love the stills @ the end !
It's a reminder that hawks (and all birds) are the last relatives of dinosaurs alive today. They can be vicious when protecting their nesting area.
+FarAwayInABlueGalaxy he didn't say they were

The stills you show are really wonderful. Wow.
That hawk is really pretty! Those still shots turned out awesome!
My 3 year niece Melissa ALSO loves your RC videos, she said to say Hi lol 😆
That is one pissed off hawk. Great footage!
I knew that I would encounter backlash comments here, but I just had to see for myself. I'm pretty sure this didn't stress the hawk very much, they are resilient, beautiful animals. This doesn't come close to being cruelty.
You were intercepted. Hawk: "Unidentified bird, you are in restricted airspace. Leave this area immediately. " :)
@ 3:30 The Boid Flippin Da Boid LMAO
Very cool shots and a beautiful hawk. Thanks for sharing 👍
Great job Daniel, this is an awesome vid

Thank you for your great effort to make these wonderful photos and videos of the hawk. I really enjoyed it!
Great vid! I'm sure some peeps have complained. Thanks for being considerate to not hurt the birdie. Throw an induction fan beast up and see if it can catch you then.
Did you consider respecting the Bird's air space? Say, like . . people respecting the air space over your home? Your parents home? Just a thought.
What an amazing video. And the slide show at the end is stunning. Please, oh please don't let me come back as a mouse in the next life.
If a hawk attacked my r/c plane, i'd dogfight him...
Great footage and stills !thanks for sharing.
that went from a Saturday cruise to a all out Thursday dog fight.
That hawk is persistence personified. He was just relentless. The bogey had to be splashed, and that was all there was to it.
the closeup shots were amazing .
@04:01 "Flaps & Slat's deployed" Fantastic Pictures!
Great footage. The Hawk seems to attack with the sun behind him, classic air combat technique. Those stills are awesome too.
That Falcon was relentless. One way or another I'm taking this threat down.
...there can only be one King of the Skies ._. realy nice shots! ty
