4:16, Not sure why no one puts a 90 degree vertical in with the valve above the barrel. This would allow being able to fill the top barrel to 100% capacity. With the valve above the barrel height, it would still be able to be used to vent. Come out of the barrel 2", put the 90 on. Run pvc vertical with the valve installed at about the top of the barrel. Finish that off with a piece of that clear line so you can actually see the water level. When the water level in the clear hose is just above the top of the barrel, turn off the supply water and close the valve.
Just a thought. What if you hooked up the barrels inline with the washing machine so you don't need to keep rotating the water? Might wanna use some pressure relief/regulator or accumulator tank to absorb pressure variation from water source.
This is such a badass system!!!talk about saving space u can stack em like 4 high and hook it up to your rain collection or irragation system the racks are sturdy as hell.excelllent product.
Hi, It has been 8 years since you installed this device. other than the drip in the video, have you had any other problems with your Titan Ready Water Storage? Any regrets? Thank you, Terry.
looks great. I'll have to either buy the racking or make my own, but I think I will also put a half barrel on top for adding additional water in an emergency (stream, lake, pool, etc) and plumb it with hard lines so I can install multiple inline filters.
I have several 55-gallon barrels divided into two separate water storage areas. One set was installed 5 years ago and the other set was installed 10 years ago. The water in neither system has been rotated since they were originally filled. Annually I have a small sample of the water tested for safety and they are just as good as the day they were filled. As long as you are using a treated municipal water supply to fill the barrels with, and they are stored correctly (kept sealed tight, dark, and cool) the water does not have to be changed out. Water does not go bad, there is nothing in the water that can go bad, it is just hydrogen and oxygen unless it gets contaminated. If you are not using a treated municipal water system to fill the tanks, then yes, you must use a conditioner in the water, and then they must be changed out every 5 years.
Having prepp before for y2k. I had room for 12 40 gal barrels. As part of a prepping group (pharmacist, doctor, biologists and procurement specialist. Government entities holding large amounts of water use 03 ie ozone to maintain water quality.
Not planning on any more barrels. The long term plan is to have a water source and use a filtration system. I will post a video on that in the near future.
My guess is a little plumbers pipe tape around the threads before you screw in the nozzle would have prevented the leak. It should not effect the quality of the water sense its only around the threads. Someone let me know if I'm wrong..
Lovely Video clip! Apologies for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Proutklarton Protecting Aqua Plan (should be on google have a look)? It is a good exclusive product for getting prepared for a mega drought without the hard work. Ive heard some great things about it and my buddy after many years got great success with it.
I would need to feed it through a gravity system from rainwater on the roof with a hose connected to the top barrel if power and water pressure were gone. Of course, at that point there may be an easier system but I'll have to cross that bridge when I get there.
+2003Harleyguy No kidding! And it had cheap hardware and leaked too, they had to drain and replace!!! My system (Auguson Farms 50 gallon barrels and home made stands) is not as pretty, but is for ALL PRACTICAL PURPOSES just as good, and costed me FAR less than half as much... < $170 for each RACKED UP VERTICALLY 110 gallon system.
the leak must have been the bulkhead in the bung. If you can grab a couple extra incase of future failure. Especially if you put it into use in the future. Also how to fill it when your down to collecting water long after power and water pressure are a thing of the past ;)

I wasn't sure of the best way how to store these and make it work well this is a killer idea greatly appreciated thanks for your video big help

Excellent review, HP - Great to see your leak issues resolved by the company too.

It's great that the company sent replacements. if it is leaking around the threads and not a hole in the plug itself, you could try thread tape also.

Same question here! Also, I'm not finding dimensions anywhere with the barrels on there. Looking to know overall LxWxH. Thanks!

Very cool system. How long will that water keep or how long do you wait to rotate it out. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks KC. Definitely a good prep for hurricanes or other natural disasters.

Hi can i ordre the burrel cup with ready to install
Could someone please tell me what the size of a( cap ) for a blue drum, I'm having a hard time trying to buy one on amazon. Please
Looks like a great system. That should get you through a "rough patch" if one should ever arise.
Wouldn't it make more sense to fill it from the top one and have the water going down into the bottom one instead of it forcing water upward?

Very cool man. Do you plan on adding more barrels? I like those big white square food grade bins, which hold like 500 gallons.
Great review. Thank you.
Did you use any Teflon tape I'm putting your system together just curious
Teflon tape is pretty good but pvc thread compound is better. Just don't overdo it so you don't get the material into your water.
What type adapters do you use for the hoses & spigot?
What size is the water spicket?
Did you treat the water? You are correct about drinking from a garden hose.
is the rack plastic or metal ?

That's a kick ass setup. Well done
did u add bleach or drops to keep your water?
Thanks. Kris from Titan Ready Water does take care of you. Any questions or issues - he advises to call him anytime (no charge).
Food safe water hose ? After hundreds of gallons I've drank out of any old garden hose ?

Excellent setup.
I drank from water hoses all my life. I'm still alive and kicking.

Thanks. But at least you have a thought out system - more than most people have.

Thanks SnS - that is the end-goal.
$350 just for the 2 bbl rack??? 2x4's it is... Wow! Proud of it aren't they.

very nice setup! ill be doin some research on these

hey where do you live at so I can join you when shit hits the fan bro
That electrical outlet is not in a good place with the water barrels.
I noticed that too. It would be a good spot for GFI l. I'd also strap the rack to the wall
U click on the site and it freezes up
I wonder how that rack would hold up in an earthquake, worried about that top barrel
I love your stuff my friend. I just started a channel. I hope im as successful and informative as you are. God bless you.
And you call the number and it's disconnected
Why the fuck is that rack so damn expensive??????
I really like that setup, thanks for sharing.
You're quite welcome.
Nice setup - puts my bucket system to shame lol
Teflon tape threads.
Could have used that last year during hurricane Isaac.
nice.
Thumbs up
If no preservation additives are added then rotate every 6-12 months. If preservation additives added, up to 5 years.
A person could put this system together themselves for probably less than $100 possibly even 75. Very good system though.
I would have a Kitty with a .50 Cal stand guard at your water barrels !!!
Too expensive for most people.
