@@rajesh.kakkanatt Yeah KRS Dam was started in 1911 agreed (by Google) so when did it terminate -1914 as the Google suggests right you would argue no it was not completed in 1914 because in terms of completion building a Dam is fine but when it comes to KRS project it was completed in 1932
before KRS project ,you will find that Shivasamudra Hydro Electric Power Station (before KRS) was built on the banks of split of river Kaveri . And final about The Tiger of Mysore Tipu Sultan , he was the one on whose letter even today people of Mysore and its neighbouring states get the land related grants(or compensation) during heavy rains and the extra water gushing and flooding their own land . Krs dam would not have been completed if Kanambadi Katta was not built as Kanam badi Katta was built as a way for drinking water and it also diverts water . And the hydroelectric station would have not been built if Kanam badi katta was not buit . So i conclude that all these are chain reactions to improve the need for water resource with the existing technology and advancement of it during that period of time.
Fact: I cannot explain you in writing more than this anyone has to go and see for themselves what is the technology used there . i knew these physically as my maternal great grand father was employed there as the Station Head Engineer in 1970's of Shivanasamudra Project
Credit of projects after Tipu Sultans death go to the chief engineer Sir M Vishveshvaraih but before his death the main source of water was Kannam badi katta which Tipu Built which later was renamed KRS and the forgotten history of Mysore even exists today which is so built . this video was well presented

When KRS dam excavation was being done by Sir M Visvesvaraya he recovered one stone which had engraved that: Tippu sultan has started this dam and only God knows who will complete it.
This information was received by Dr DV Gundappa when he was young and conversing with Sir MV and is recorded in DV Gundappas writings
