Boiled my version for a bit to make it thicker before adding 20% vodka by volume. I will let a sample sit overnight if I want to get deep darks. I activate it like watercolor the next day. Love the mention of adding rose oil.
Wow, very impressed with the Ink Cap Mushroom Art you created with it's homemade ink❣️ Our daughter Melody has created a Ink Cap Character design and we used it for her song Void. We would love to hear your thoughts on the Ink Cap Character she created. I hope to grow some of these Ink Cap Mushrooms in our garden to see if she too can paint with this natural ink. Fascinating. Thank you for sharing. 🍄❤️
@TheSanityMachine I'm looking for videos on recipes for mica cap mushrooms. I found this and thought of you. Maybe I should try to make some with the inky caps I have available ☺
I also tried this after reading Entangled Life from Merlin Sheldrake :D The first batch was a bit light, so I let it air a bit to get denser ink... Which worked well, but the smell :') ewww
Your handwriting on the video is a bit hard to read sometimes, and I am kinda analytical. The text at 1:51, does it state: 'Let them rot into an inky mess, and add some salt to preserve the ink!'? How much salt would you say to add per how much mushroom and how long do we rot these mushrooms? (if rot is the used word there, cause 'not', 'sot' are a bit odd in context. How well does it stick to the surface and does it stay or fade away over time?

I loved this video. It was so calming, magical and mesmeric x
Such a beautiful video! 😍 I want to try to make the ink next year 🍄
I've wanted to do this for a while, but struggle to keep them out of the pan!
Might give it a go with common inkcap as it is considerably less edible.
damn wow
They are also very edible 😊❤

oh apologies! I think it’s best to see this video as a rough guide and experiment for yourself as it’ll be very different depending on circumstances:)
