I highly doubt he wrote this at 14... He didn't start playing guitar until he was 13 let alone writing songs until he was 20. In VH1 he states its about his girlfriend at 14 and denied rumors that it was about Jennifer Love Hewitt. Hate to be that guy, but had to dispel of some false rumors.
