This review is spot on, thank you. As a long-time surfer from the north east the lack of decent waves since Christmas drove me to consider buying a SUP. Got one of these off the back of your review and was so pleased with it I bought my son one a couple of weeks later. we've been all over with them (rivers, sea, estuary etc), I was pleasantly surprised that they even catch waves easily and don't 'slide out' which we expected they would. Great piece of kit and seems really good quality for the cost.
Thank you so much for the review. Went and bought one on the back of it and have just got back from a paddle. Bloody love it. You hit all the points I needed to know, keep up the great work!
I made a comment on the unboxing video a few days back. Good video and good tips that were very helpful. Well I took it to the coast yesterday and what a blast. So relaxing to get away from all the noise from a busy beach. I took a pack lunch and sat about 200 meters offshore and enjoyed my lunch away from the crowds. I travel to the beach for some metal detecting and get there early to avoid the crowds but as I am a miserable old sod when the beach fills with people later in the day I found a paddle board ideal to get some peace and quiet. I must say that even on a nice sunny day I was surprised how big some of the waves were the further I went out. I thought it would be calmer the further I went from the shore. Waves not big enough though to knock over my bottle of beer (alcohol free) Many thanks for both your videos regarding this lidl board.
Thanks for the review. Bought one this week. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I live in the Netherlands at a canal, so it should be easy to get started. Have a nice day.
Great review and brilliant unboxing video you done. I literally picked the last one up from our local Lidl yesterday. It had gone down to £170 with the app. I’ve never used one before but my 13 year old son has at some local lake clubs and he really wanted one. Looking forward to giving it a try when we go away in Lyme Regis in a few weeks.
Great review on the board, took the girlfriend paddle boarding for the first time she loved it , after went to Lidl found the boards in there reduced to £169 so got her one in Swindon so later going back to South Candy for the day , looking forward to trying it out
Just to say Lidl have had a restock. The boards are £169 using the Lidl app. My local branch had 10 in stock. 9 by the time I left. This is my first board and your 2 videos helped me to work out how to inflate it and what goes where.
Good one Dready. Yep I bought one also. Not as good as my Starboard, but it does the job and I can buy three for the same money. Nicely reviewed - as ever….
They are really good, for the price, but last years was more stable, it had the 2 smaller fins, I took this years back though deck board started coming away after 2 uses 😕
I didn't notice too much of a difference and the side/thruster fins tend to slow you down a little on flat water. I believe this is why they removed them as 3 fins aren't really needed for general use. But you are right it will be slightly less stable but with practice you would hardly notice.
@@27loopylisa That's a shame, they sell so many looks like quality control isn't quite up to it. Sandbanks are solid boards though, at least the ones I reviewed a few years ago are.
With the cachalot pump, do you also hear a little crackling when you press the buttons and the display? It works well, I just hope it won't cause any problems, it's just that the assembly is a little worse. Thanks!
Have bought this week, not tried it yet. But would you recommend the Lidl mistral over an entry level Hiks? Not sure which to get. Video helps but am also indecisive 😬
The Hiks is a lot lighter and if you are a lighter person it will be spot on. The Hiks team are awesome and customer support is flawless. The Lidl board is also great, hard to advice one over the other. I have reviewed the Hiks board as well if you haven't seen it.
Just watching this now after buying one this morning for £170. Should've checked reviews first but it sounds like I've made a good purchase. Thanks
You sure have bud, awesome boards for the money to start out on. Let me know how you get on.

Awesome glad you're enjoying it. Never a substitute for a hard board for sup surfing but it's capable of it to a degree.

Thanks for your kind words, always brightens my day. Stay awesome my friend.
Thanks for the vid. Bought mine today, on a whim. After watching this, I'm feeling pleased with myself.

Hi there, yeah they aren't too bad overall. I've done a full setup guide as well so that may help you get started with it. All the best!

What is your opinion on the bluefin boards? and sea gods? Thank you!
Haven't tried either I'm afraid. Can't really comment from personal experience.
