I believe Disturbed was trying to portray not losing faith in yourself. The images of people seeing their reflections made me think this. Thank you so much for doing this song. I would recommend The Light by them. It’s heavier but has a good message. Thanks again.
It's fascinating how Disturbed insert their interpretation of the original songs' meaning into their videos. In this one, they're clearly saying that the "you" is ourselves (if we ever lose faith in ourselves), because at the end you see people looking at their own reflections. Simply brilliant.

Agree this "end of the spectrum" of Disturbed of this and Sound of Silence is fantastic. His softer voice is lovely, and the rasp gives so much contrast. Great cover!
I highly recommend their original Hold On To Memories. A very emotional song with a strong message. The same with The Light, and Reason to Fight. I think you would enjoy both of those as well.
I agree. These are all great choices. I only started listening to Disturbed after hearing Sound of Silence. I'll be 60 this year and I'm now a big fan. 😁 Listen to a few more covers before you listen to Down with the sickness. 🙂

I have already arranged for Hold On To Memories to be played at my funeral. Also another song they had done that reaches out to so many in our world now in their attempt to touch so many fighting depression, drug abuse and suicide is A Reason To Fight, the official live video which was also in remembrance to Chester and they show photos of ones they have lost in the music world and they do it at their concerts. It is so very touching and the reaction of their fans is amazing.
Reason To Fight and Hold on to The Memories are amazing and have great messages to them. They are on course to the ‘spectrum’ you are use to from them

Already Gone , Hold on to Memories. Are a good next step. The band had played this in a concert in remembrance of Chester the lead singer of Linkin Park who's past away (suicide) A teenage girlfriend of his (David) also passed in a similar way.

I very highly suggest doing their song The Light next... I promise you wont be disappointed. Its one of their softer yet more emotional songs. Very uplifting though.
So glad you liked it! I think you'll work your way to the appreciation for how the talent and musicianship supports the "harder" end of their music. Next I'd suggest either, "A Reason To Fight," which does have a video with similar qualities, black and white, full of symbolism, etc., or "Hold Onto Memories." There are two videos for that one, there's the official video and then there's a "live" one that includes concert clips, personal band moments and audience reactions over the studio version of the song. That's my favorite, because it does feel more personal and it gives a glimpse into real emotions.
David Draiman (the lead vocalist in Disturbed) tweeted about *The Warning* and Plush 2 weeks ago, saying that they gave him hope for the future of rock music. 'Evolve', 'Disciple', and 'Animosity" are some of The Warning's newest stuff, and they are on tour in the US in April and May!
The Warning are the best new rock band in years!
Always loved Sting's original and had not heard this one. Wow!

Huge fan... love the way they flavor this one heavily with their harder leaning... keep going. My personal fave of the harder is Stricken.
A reason to fight, official live video, would be a good next step in your Disturbed journey
David Draiman....one of THE BEST male vocalists out there! Taylor Fam....for a VERY light Disturbed song....try "Uninvited Guest". For a beautiful, gorgeous, touching song with a "middle" tempo....try "The Light". For a real banger....lol.... try "Down With The Sickness". Oh, and a new song with David and guitarist Nita Strauss...."Dead Inside". Wow!
Hmmmm, I’d NOT heard this one from Disturbed!!!! I’m so glad I did, I was waiting & I’m not disappointed lol. You’re right, he did sound like Sting to me too.

This is actually a really great blending of a little harder and the most definitely the softer. I’ve never heard this one, but I think I have to download it now! Thanks for listening and reacting to it!! 😊 I know Down with the Sickness, this isn’t as hard as he goes there, and I’m pretty sure what he does in that song isn’t the hardest he goes in others. I’ve heard it’s about having faith in yourself. I’ve gone through many boxes of tissues listening to their videos.
The song that mostly comes to me when I hear Sting. Is when he did the song with Bryan Adams and Rod Stewart All For Love.

If you want to see the soft side of Disturbed there are a few songs you can do.
Darkness which is one of their first, if not the first soft song. To be honest for me this song was the most emotional song from them. First time i listed to it many years ago and i cried the whole night after i listened to it. For some reason it touched my heart in a way that nothing else before did.
Also another soft song yet extremly beautiful, which happens to be my fav from their Evolution album is Uninvited guest. A very wonderful song.
In my humble opinion a must when it comes to Disturbed is also their A reason to fight. This song should have a double or even a triple feature on any channel. For the whole song i suggest both a official music video which is extremly powerful and meaningful. Also the live version of the whole song is super amazing, but you already saw how amazing David is live. But the most powerful video of all when it comes to this song is the official live video. That video shows what Disturbed is really about and it puts in a nutshell all what they did in all their concerts for the Evolution tour around the world in 2019. I was at their Evolution concert in Romania, where I am from and it was the most powerful experience of my life.

Hold On To Memories is an awesome song and I would love to see you react to it.
One of my favourites from Disturbed is The Prayer, though it is more on the other side of the spectrum. And of course Down with the Sickness. :)
The Prayer is also one of my favorites. I heard the video was pulled from tv due to its similarity to 9/11. I do not see it but it’s a good song.
If you want to see what they can do really you need to do Stricken. If you react to Down with the sickness, only react to the short or clean version. They made this song when they were young and rebellious so it's not appropriate. I'd do Stricken if you want to see what they're really all about. It's amazing!!!
Excellent reaction, here are a few songs to, step up with, check Uninvited Guest a gem off their last album was a bonus track, then The Light and Stricken (my fav from them), that kicks from beginning to end.
I thought the imagery of people looking themselves in the mirror was an important message. Thank you for your sincere and honest reasons. A good next Disturbed song is The Light to react to.

Great reaction again, if you are looking for softer disturbed songs.... Uninvited guest, hold onto memories and already gone.... A little touch harder you have... A reason to fight and the light(my favourite) both of which have powerful messages and videos... they also do a cover of land of confusion (genesis)..... I agree with the comment that if you do, down with the sickness do the shorter version and don't touch the video of inside the fire, that really will disturb you.... Keep on the disturbed road you will appreciate that this man can do anything with his voice
Disturbed is deep. You need to now go see WHY they are called 'disturbed'. Down With The Sickness! A heavy psychological view of child abuse.

The video makes me think of a mix of their Sound Of Silence cover video and a System Of A Down video.

Yes yes please do Phil Collins Land of Confusion by Disturbed that's actually how I got introduced to Disturbed and they're lighter end of the spectrum is one of my favorites at the end of each of their albums I believe they do a cover the Land of Confusion is an awesome video to watch and it's awesome the way they put their own spin on it
