    I’m so glad to see even power lifters need stability work. I’m fairly new and feeling so strong in the gym but realizing that it’s not functional strength and I’m switching gears a bit to help that

    Hope he’s doing well but this just shows how unidimensional strength often is. Most people would never guess this big guy would struggle like that to do a side plank

      It's really not, it's a matter of the wrong muscles taking over to support what he is doing and going through life thinking that's fine but when you try and side plank with the muscles that are supposed to support your lifts you immediately start shaking or cramping up. @@romansokolov4589

    It’s amazing how such a strong ginormous guy struggled with the side plank. Goes to show it doesn’t matter how strong we are. We have intrinsic muscles that need strengthened for proper stability

    Are you cueing your patients for hips forward here, or are you just having them pop up while maintaining the same level of hip flexion?

    Exactly what I needed, I'm stronger on left side but can't side plank at all on right side

  • @fg786
    @fg786 Рік тому

    I have this issue that I only feel abs while doing the side plank on my right side but not the glutes. This is however not a strength issue of the glutes but rather some overactive muscles that keep the glutes from engaging. Hip flexors are tight for some reason for me and from the ribs down to the hips around to the lower back everything is tight. Stretching this area like a mad men relieves the issue and side planks are as strong on the right side as on the left. Dunno what causes this but I relaize at times that I habitually have the hip flexors engaged resulting in the hip turned in and raised a little. So something triggers me to do this for some reason.

    Would yoke carrys be good for distance runners? Seems a big yes but never seen anyone use or mention it. In the past after doing a week or 2 of zercher marches made running up hill super easy.

    I have a glute imbalance and I figured out by watching this video it's from a weak hip. How many reps should I do on the weak side? Any advice would be great 😊
