It’s soooo ridiculous, how you choreograph these things with the most simplest and gentle movements to where it plays such a big roll in the meaning of the song, it’s sooo beautiful and powerful that your mind can see every way a movement is significant ❤️ you’re brilliant

2:37 I don't know why but the way she looks away and focuses her look is sooo mesmerizing! Also, in every choreo of hers I only look at her facial expressions because that's how minimalistic and incredible she can be.
"You finally get to express yourself" made me smile so much. I want that feeling.
This tutorial is a reminder that everything we see is not real until we position ourselves on a point of view and interpret it to give it a reality. One song many interpretations, different points of view... So let's apply this knowledge to real-life... life has a lyric and we interpret it as we wish. Awaken! One more time art teaches big lessons! Thank you Galen!

In the last dance, I think the second way Galen was dancing was as if she was the manipulator

This choreography really surprised me omg! This is my first time knowing dancing can be this meticulous！
At first I feel like the last one is bout living in a lie vs the liar. But when I tried to follow and act it out, really feeling every move and gaze, I feel like it's about being lie vs seeing through lies. (But maybe only manipulator can see through lies)
Can we just take a moment and appreciate how pretty she is. love her and her work
so my guess is love. not necessarily in love with someone but finally loving yourself. you were sad in the beginning but as the dance progressed you became happy & in love with yourself.

Not only am I a dancer!! I’m a mental health clinician. I studied to be a choreographer in 99, and now I’m here sending this to clients!! Boom goes the dynamite!!! @galenhooks, you rock! Thank you for letting me and my clients dance our emotions out! This is so incredibly therapeutic in so many ways!! Therapy doesn’t have to be just talk therapy

The last one makes me think you’re almost relishing in what’s happening like “good, fuck you” There was this little side smile and shoulder shrug like “I don’t care”. You have beautiful purpose in life Galen, please keep sharing and opening people up. I have a rare genetic disease that makes me unable to be very mobile, I currently dislocate 32 bones (and counting) in my body among other things; watching you dance brings me such joy and let’s my emotions escape with you. Dancers are beautiful therapy for me, so thank you from my soul.

@@MeganVictoriaKearns Thanks for the kind words. My grandma said I could either cry in my porridge and starve, or I could choose to eat it and live to fight another day. It stuck and I eat my porridge instead of crying into it....and while I’m eating it I get to watch Galen dance. 😀

I agree with a lot of the other comments that the last one we guess is dance as if you are the liar. Some of the facial expressions and the way some of the movements seemed to command action from someone else gave me that feeling.

ICONIC!!!! I teared up at so many points during this routine. So much to learn from every movement. In my view, this routine is yet another Masterclass in itself.
I miss dancing. I swear dance class is a good reason I made it through my childhood. I was so emotional (still am) and that was the ONLY place I could let it go and not be judged. So watching this and seeing all the emotions is really moving and lovely !!!! I especially love how all you have to do is change your emotion and it can completely change the choreography… Without changing the choreography! So many people in so many ways to tell the story that’s what’s so wonderful about dancing
Living in a lie and the other one I would say someone living in her power. Someone that’s been there done that and knows what she deserves and knows she’ll never fall for that again. Ugh why am I crying

The second dance was you showing the lie what it had made to you but you express it with grace because it has been a life lecture and, after all, a beautiful dance.

For the guess one... I’m thinking some sort of pride. You’re proud of where you are, what you’ve done.
The final prompt kind of gave me the vibe of breaking free from something uncertain to reclaim your hopes and dreams but at the same time it made me think of how it feels when you break free from negative emotions or a negative picture of yourself which makes you feel more comfortable in your own skin.
I have too many things running through my head and to many emotions with that prompt.

I've purposefully not read the comments so I can write my honest guess for the last duo of dances:
The Manipulator - very polished and perception is important. Almost understated in some ways with some complacency, to portray not being bothered to those observing when in actuality, it is all very precisely controlled (like those with control issues in a relationship). This is also someone who is very good a pulling you in because you are mesmerised by their charm (aestethic etc).
Definitely going to trying this choreo!

This choreography is absolutely amazing. You can feel the emotion right from that start.
What a genius.
It's funny how many people think the last one is something along the lines of "loving yourself, finally accepting who you are", but many others think it's "being the manipulator, creating a lie". That just goes to show how manipulators try to create a picture of wholesomeness, peace, something that will attract people who are seeking for these exact emotions... And how people often fall for it, not being able to tell the difference between honest vulnerability and manipulation. I know I can't, in this case
Meaning the character she was dancing could be a manipulator trying to convince others they are a source of completion and peace

GALEN! I’m obsessed with your videos! I love these so much because I have so many injuries and surgeries, i had to stop (found a new dream that I’m living out my passion as a therapist). But you making it about story telling and still about to vibe to the beat in whatever mood you want to convey is phenomenally freeing. Makes dance fresh and new again. So thank you!

I think the version we're guessing was very peaceful, like after a hard time has just passed. Things aren't all the way healed inside, but healing has started.
My guess for that last side by side is that you were dancing as if you wanted to sleep , just to dream again. The motions looked so sleepy & low energy , but the relief of closing your eyes in the simple motions looked dreamy .
