I wonder why NY most likely the Genovese didn’t put Uncle Joe Ligambi in as Boss instead of Stanfa. Even if he was in jail they could of had the Young Turks whistled in and told that they will all be made in good standing from NY and that, they will run a faction, Stanfa the other and when Joe gets out he will be the Boss. And Stanfa and Merlino would of been administration. They would of got Philadelphia to be a very respected Family once again.
Lol because Stanfa hated Ligambi and Merlino. Not to mention NY would never just put a bunch of 20 and 30 year old associates in charge of a family- because that’s who they were back then. Merlino didn’t have any connections and relationships with the other bosses in the early 90’s. Not to mention Ligambi was a solider under Scarfo and in prison. They would never undermine a current sitting boss by naming one of his soldiers in the cell next to him the new boss of the family lol. Stanfa was already aligned with the Gambinos, Colombo’s and at that time had more pull with the other families and Sicilians than the other ppl you named. Thats when he asked the Lucchese Crime Family via Vic Amuso to ‘Make’ his son, and go down to Philly to wipe Joey and his crew out… They ‘Made’ his son in NY, but never got to Joey. At that time, it really wasn’t worth NY’s time to go short out the mess that was the Philly LCN Family
