      Kind is putting it mildly. He was pretty much homeless and down on his luck, and this family opened their doors with open arms, only to be betrayed in such a heinous manner. Yes, we need to be constantly vigilant because at the end of the day no one can predict these types of warped behaviors.
      Somehow we dismiss red flags that are very apparent to the people looking in, but not so obvious to those on the inside. Perhaps as kind humans we sometimes let our hearts make the decisions, thereby do the talking for us. That mindset has to change going forward for those who find themselves in similar circumstances.
      Edit: I forgot to offer my condolences to the family, and the souls lost to be resting in peace.

All three remaining daughters have blessed my life with grandchildren....the middle one even has twins. Getting to the point....the loss of a child at ANY age has no comparable pain....I know this for a fact. Emotional arguments aside, this is not how the law works, everyone is entitled to due process (including you, should you be ever charged with a crime). Just as an example, I could say you murdered person "X", the police would then arrest you based on my witness testimony (though false it may be), you would still however be entitled to due process, and those rights protect you (or anyone) from someone falsely accusing you of a crime. In this case the defendant was found guilty and rightly so, but this was done after his due process.

    This father is right...the criminals have more rights than their victims.... He took all their rights away...so why should he have any?

    • @Yourmomazz
      @Yourmomazz 5 років тому +35

      The answer is pretty easy for people living in the intelligent parts of the world. Aka, *not America*
      The criminals should never drag the standards of a state or a system, down to their level of barbarism. In the face of barbarism, criminals caring less of other peoples rights, its the state and criminal justice systems obligation to show how it is done. Set the standard for others to follow. Not the otherway around. To not be dragged down to a pathetic "eye for an eye" banana republic.

      Hypogonadism Is that justice to the person murdered and his family? Are we not valuing the life of the criminal more than the victim? How is justice served?

    • @Yourmomazz
      @Yourmomazz 5 років тому +20

      @@lindaelia2616 If you remove the "vengeance" mentality, you start to realize that the main goal regarding crime and criminality, is to remove the criminals from society, since they clearly are not fit to be part of it. Thats the goal of the justice system. The goal is not to cut off the hands of thieves, or kill the people who has done a murder. You shouldnt lower yourself to their standard. You should show them yours, and keep them in prison until they learn it, and after their sentence can safely return to society.
      We value the lives of the living. When someone is dead, they dont have rights. It might sound brutal, but thats just the cold hard truth. We value the rights of the living. And yes, it does include the rights of the criminals. It whats makes us a developed, intelligent country. I have all the sympathy in the world for the family of the victims. They have equal rights as the criminal. But the dead do not.

      I can give another take on it.
      I understand why the loved ones wants vengeance. I understand why some of the public want vengeance against such heinous criminals. I would most likely want it myself, if i where in his victims family shoes. My emotions would totally engulf me in darkness.
      But im very glad we have a justice system that would stop me. If you know what i mean. And the last thing i would do, is encourage the justice system to act on vengeance.
