I wish you guys had reacted to the live one-take performance of this song, it's somehow 100x better. 🥹 Courtney is devastating 🖤🔥 I recommend any of her live performances: Belcarra, Circle With Me, ✨️Rule of Nines✨️ my personal favorite, Holy Roller, or the Sirius XM Liquid Metal live Spiritbox videos. Cellar Door, Ultraviolet and Angel Eyes are all incredible tracks, too.
I assume you do, since you mentioned it, but you do know Courtney was in I Wrestled a Bear Once, don't you? . Holy Roller is what you need. Pure, brutal Spiritbox. Unbelievably brutal.
And yes, Mike is such a SICK guitarist. Courtney LaPlante is her name. Mike Stringer is the guitarist. They are married! They've been making incredible music together for years. PLEASE more Spiritbox. 🙏🏻
Speaking of Iwrestledabearonce, Courtney Laplante of Spiritbox credits Krista Cameron the first lead singer of IWABO as an influence. It just so happens that Courtney became IWABO's 2nd lead singer after Krista left to have her baby. Courtney's husband Mike, who is the guitarist and composer of Spiritbox also joined Courtney in IWABO as their guitarist for their final album as a band. Mike and Courtney formed Spiritbox shortly after that.
She sounds fantastic live as well. One of the best concerts I've been to. Full scream (and utterly wicked): Holy Roller. No scream, all vocal: secret garden and constance.
Courtney (pronounced La-PLANT) was born and raised in USA (Maine, Cali, Alabama) until moving to Vancouver Island at age 15. Her husband Mike (lead guitarist) is Canadian. The other two, Josh (bass) and Zev (drums) are American. So they are technically 2.5/4 American and 1.5 Canadian (although Mike and Courtney met in Canada and lived there until moving to LA over a year ago). Dive deeply into their discography... they have been nominated for a Grammy this year, for Best Metal Performance, "Jaded," ---going against Metallica, Slipknot, Ghost, and Disturbed.
Do you know Jinjer? Another great female metal singer. 'Pisces (Live Session)' is always a nice shocking start for her .😉 And if you want really crazy metal 🤪. Try Igorr: 'Cheval', 'PARPAING [feat. George Fisher]' or 'ieuD [OFFICIAL VIDEO]'
Candlebox are from Seattle and Spiritbox are from Vancouver. Also Courtney used to sing for iwrestledabearonce so not exactly NOT not to be confused with Candlebox or iwrestledabearonce
I suggest a 2 song reaction to get a better overall depiction of their sound. They just released a 6 song Ep called The Fear of Fear and the songs Too Close/Too Late and Angel Eyes are back to back. You should listen to Too Close/Too Late first and then transition to Angel Eyes.
The E is silent. Their song Jaded is nominated for a grammy but they have quite a catalog built up now. Some of their stuff is super heavy, a few are melodic and deep, and some are poppy and heavy at the same time.
Mike is technically the only Canadian, but the band started in Canada. Courtney and Mike both lived in Victoria as teenagers into adulthood, and only about a year or so ago moved to LA. Courtney moved to BC from Alabama as a kid, and looked up to Mike’s old band, Fall In Archaea, as if they were the cool older brother in the scene, being that they toured Canada relentlessly in their time as a band. Anything specific you wanna know, I’ve been friends with Mike for years.
1:06 lol Especially if they're Oilers or Leaf fans.. Her live one takes are awesome to show he vocal range. They did a "live" with Liquid Metal during lockdown Holly Roller, Rule of Nines, Blessed Be.

Courtney was also sick during that performance and you can tell but none the less she sounded phenomenal
I totaly agree. Live takes are amazing.
Time to go down the rabbit hole! I'm gonna recommend one of theirs that I feel sometimes gets overlooked - Hysteria. One of my faves.
Yes I agree with this 100%!
Courtneys one take of this song is awesome! That would have been the one to recommend you watch

All so dynamic and great at what they do. Fun reaction
Vessel and Court’ are in my top 5 with Noah from Bad Omens at 1 and Eddie Berg from Imminence
Same here! All 2023 discoveries for me

Hail Mary is such a fucking beast of an album, by far my favourite album from IWABO. Everything Courtney and Mike touch is solid gold.
She sounds fantastic live as well. One of the best concerts I've been to. Full scream (and utterly wicked): Holy Roller. No scream, all vocal: secret garden and constance.
Plz more spiritbox
This band is incredible live🤘🤘
Courtney's last name is LaPlante. The e is silent.
Funny you said it in the intro, but the singer and guitarist were both in iwrestledabearonce.

The one take live version of this song is a very good example of here INSANE voice control!
Candlebox are from Seattle and Spiritbox are from Vancouver. Also Courtney used to sing for iwrestledabearonce so not exactly NOT not to be confused with Candlebox or iwrestledabearonce
FUN FACT: Courtney dyed her hair blue with blue Gushers candy for this video.
The album this is on is "Eternal Blue". Hence, all of the blue.
Y'all gotta review spiritbox belcarra, jaded, or cellar door that just came out not too long ago.
Jesus man, just HOW she can do such a good scream, the first song I heard from them was Rotoscope and I was amazed too

If you like the heavy heavy’s check out Holy Roller
Dayseeker, neon grave
You guys gotta go down this rabbit hole!
INCRESES THE ADIO!!!!! I CANT HEAR IT!!!!
I like the vocal one take version better then this one tbh.
Her one take performance is better. Worth a peek!
Holly Roller or Cellar Door for their heaviest, Constance or Blessed be for their softer... Rule of nines kind in the middle... all of them great!
Why do people overlook Angel Eyes? It's heavy AF.
Down the spiritbox rabbithole you go! They have a wide sound range. Some totally clean vocal songs. Some total harsh vocals. And everywhere in between
pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee react to the live one take!!
Please watch the one take!!
Must react to Jaded
You guys are in for a treat.
Listen to Jinjer too.
Mara effect

Hello! Thanks for the great comment and information. Thats awesome!
Courtney LaPlante she is awesome. Old school guy here, but love SpiritBox and this is one of those songs.
Do more, do more, do more. Lol. Check out their new ep. There's beautiful music and brutal music.
1:06 lol Especially if they're Oilers or Leaf fans.. Her live one takes are awesome to show he vocal range. They did a "live" with Liquid Metal during lockdown Holly Roller, Rule of Nines, Blessed Be.
Oilers fan here, leafs fans are bad people.
