I think the Blue and White and Blue Counters are French, Foreign Legion, Cuirassiers, Spahis, Free French and a couple of Naval Units, there Red and White ones are Polish, and there was a Sudanese unit as well. My Grandad talked of Greeks being in North Africa when he was in Alexandria. There was a riot when Sicily was invaded as it meant the liberation of Greece had been delayed. The Greek Counters from the game would have triggered a thirty minute tale!
U can easily use play aids on that 3rd map all the time. See how fold lines let it be just so play aids are shown. Lay that folds up that way on your table an u can use it all the time with all scenarios. Tuck it under your plexiglass if it’s not too thick folded up that ways or under its own small plexiglass piece.
We have played the campaign game up to May 41 ...being an OCS DAK veteran, I admit that this is an ingenious redesign of the rather simplistic Africa (Gamers) ...the heart of the game is the various types of Activations based on Supply availability...the result is ( surprisingly) a very consistent historical simulation ...the choices are historical and the system flow doesn't allow for gammy stuff ....it flows like a DAK game without the logistics etc...much better than GMTs unfortunate remake of the amazing The Legend Begins...IMHO!
Stuff on the map is great If it's legible. I've seen maps where they shoehorned in charts and tables and with my vision stuff is sometimes really hard to read the damn things. I put my glasses on, take my glasses off, squint, then I put my face almost on top of the chart. Yeah. Lol. I have 4 SCS games, n played 3. Excellent. #4 on table waiting for me to finish some mini's. Punch n sort counters today (in-between grandpa duties). Maybe even get special rules read.
