Just commenting to emphasise how much I appreciate the calmed down presenting style of Becca. You still notice, that she is invested and her high energy level is really infectious, but it's no longer cringeworthy. Good job, Becca!
I disagree on the cringe worthy part but I do agree that this is still a great improvement for this type of game. Most games fair better from this energy, Fluxx, Munchkin, and other chaotic games probably would fair better with a bit more energy
OMG--i enjoyed Becca presentation and this is her best video so far! For once I didn’t have to turn down the volume and understand everything she said! Good work Becca!!!
How am I just now finding out about "How To Play," I guess leading a highly successful team of professionals and making coin, has distracted me ... in other words MARY ME BECCA!!!!
Subscribed to Geek & Sundry because of the over-the-top fun energy of Becca's "How to" series, which I stumbled upon. It was ridiculous, it was fun and it made me care about board games I'd never otherwise play. This toned down version - sans the fun asides and high energy - makes for boring viewing and, by extension, makes the games she's describing seem tedious to learn/play. I really enjoyed the upbeat tomfoolery of the old style and would unsubscribe if not for the wonderful GM Tips with Satine Phoenix. Becca is 50% of why I watch G&S, with Satine and random sightings of Felicia Day making up the other 50%.
As I recall, the intent was to design a game that seemed like a 'classic' complicated card game like Cribbage or Bridge, with the actions being symbolism adopted by the society. It's less a game about secret societies, and more the game a secret society plays.
My favourite series on this channel
Rarely seen a more charismatic person in a video :D

It was never cringeworthy, or at least, the good kind of cringeworthy!
Hereistos 100% agree. They toned it down and since then this whole series is fantastic.
Could not agree more. Becca is great, but this is now watchable. Thanks Becca.

See I liked the super energy. This is “ok”. Because well Becca
I swear this "How To" series is gold...keep it up :)
I like Becca's very deliberate pronunciation of "Okus Tokens", 'cause could they have picked a more difficult name to say for those things?
Love these vids, really good to show everyone who's playing all at once.
This game is also known as Headache.

Becca always looks good and keeps things going ...
What happened to will wheton. I miss table top. Sob.
Absolutely one of my favorite games of the year and love Becca's videos, even when I don't care anything about the game.
Beautiful game & presentation
cool concept and clean mechanics.
So, fancy Hearts, basically?
I think it's more like Casino.
Much better! Thanks for toning it down a bit. I actually like this series now.
so it's a combination of casino and Hearts basically
Seems like an advanced version of Tarocchi.
or Casino
Hey Geek and Sundry! Can you guys check us out at Grok Games and possibly show off our first table top release, Annihilation: Zombies?
How am I just now finding out about "How To Play," I guess leading a highly successful team of professionals and making coin, has distracted me ... in other words MARY ME BECCA!!!!
Thumb up for Becca :)
Thank you for having high energy but not TOO much energy to the point of being distracting. I greatly appreciate it.
Sow please!
Watched the video, still have no idea how to play 😂
Where is TableTop??
Aw I only know if this game as it was Designed in conjunction with The Decemberists :)
I was hoping someone would mention that!
MUCH better with a more natural personality and not the hyped-up-on-coke previous presentations.
agreed.
Too fast. Meh.
BEER AND BOARDGAMES DID IT
Yeah but at least this clearly explains what the hell is going on in this game.
...It does?
trueoskar i’ve rarely seen it explained better

ShaphanDale Cool story, bro.
ShaphanDale I would think that most people would prefer a less spastic and more natural presentation.
Most people like pop music. I don't trust most people's taste. :)
Could you pls make a Kamasutra - The Game How To? Pls.

What did this game have to do with secret societies? What a waste of a theme.
As I recall, the intent was to design a game that seemed like a 'classic' complicated card game like Cribbage or Bridge, with the actions being symbolism adopted by the society. It's less a game about secret societies, and more the game a secret society plays.
Thankfully, nothing
