If I had £1 for every time I hear “yugioh is ruined” I’d be a quintillion-air, apparently it’s been ruined for about 15 years, since synchro monsters were released, and yet it’s still very popular

Ok, I really think we must put the hate on the Fiendsmith link 1. It literally summons the dude for free and enables all the full combos. Moon could have been anything else with the same typing and the Link 1 boy would still be broken

3:57 it won't be tier 0 anymore, because we're going to see Snake-Eye AND Yubel topping events. But like 80% of decks will be on Fiendsmith to some capacity if they can run the cards.
Fiendsmith is so stupid that I'm even splashing it in a generic Ritual deck through the use of Magikey cards (the Magikey lvl 4 monster, which is searchable, just conveniently happens to be a LIGHT Fiend, and it can even summon itself).
1:11 Beatrice is in the game because it’s “fair and balanced” according to Konami 🤣
Just 1 set, we couldn't have fiendsmith without closed sky for JUST ONE SET!?
this is so weird for Konami. they've almost always kept essential OCG cards away from the TCG for as long as possible but with Goddes of the closed sky and Phantom of Yubel they randomly decided to release it to the TCG as soon as possible so we get to see how terribly designed the Fiendsmith cards are.
Closed Sky is an obvious money-grab, however Phantom of Yubel is a "Valuable Book promo" and those are typically imported in "Battles of Legend" sets, very similarly to what happened with "Animation Chronicle" formula before making the "Maze" side sets.

The problem i faced with fiendsmith engine is its large size in the extra deck. 2 links 2 fusions and 1 closed sky is a lot.

I disagree. Lost Zone cards when it gets rotated will be abused with Unown LOST. Or other Lost Zone cards from the Black and White Era and Lost Thunder. People use 10 to 13 supporters so it’s an auto win for the opponent for the most part. I think cards like lost vacuumed need to be hit once it goes to expanded. I’m looking at the next rotation.

Why would Konami hit any deck that benefits from the Fiendsmith engine before it's live? Konami needs to rake in that money. I bet the banlist will hit 1 week after the set drops. OR, they can do what they did with PePe and release a nothing banlist before the set drops and emergency ban cards after the check clears.

I think they should just errata Beatrice to where she has similar requirements to Zoodiac monsters. Just make it so she needs 4 rank 6s. That way she could still be played in her native deck.
