I might vaguely remember seeing this, real time. Bird did a great job of sealing the, very strong Barkley, away from the narrow passing lane, with one arm, and catching the ball with the other, then spinning and shooting. Nothing for Barkley to be ashamed of, at all.
Sir Charles' poor "Milk Dud" head bounced off the floor just high enough for him to see Bird's shot swish through the net. 😢 Charles is one of the best players of all time and he nearly swatted the ball away. However, Larry Legend was also one of the greatest.
Barkley was the best player on every team he played on except the Rockets, but the best team he ever played on that even had a chance at a championship was the Phoenix Suns, so he had nothing to be ashamed of. There are more Hall of Fame players who never got a championship then did. Most times the stars just don't align no matter how great a player is.
0:41 Looks like Charles DID get a piece of that pass. Just not enough of one to do more than deflect it a bit. 0:47 In fact, he almost dribbled it twice, but couldn't get control.
Chuckster goes on record to say he is as good as the Legend and keeps him out of his all time top ten. Keep to politics, Chuck, you are really better there.
Chuck was the better PF, Bird was the better PF, they really were different players and skills. Barkley was more efficient, a better rebounder, but Bird was a better passer and had more range.
They SCRIPTED him to graze that ball with his fingertips, and Bird to spin and nail a last second jumper? You realize if that was true it would take even more talent for them all to pull off that script than to just play the game normal? 😂
"I thought i had it"
"you had a front row seat to watch the game winner is what you had"
That was so funny, Lol
A floor seat 😂
When Ernie says "he almost missed this" at the end, I just about fell over laughing
Bird hit the back of the rim no swish, so that was almost a miss for Bird. That's probably what Ernie meant 🤣🤣

"That damn Larry Bird"... you know that's a compliment!!!

🤣 true that.
Barkley was known as a very lazy, self-centered player who refused to stay in shape most of his career.

C'mon, Larry Bird did that to everybody. 😂
@chad stengel He was the Goat in the first half of the 80's till injuries got to him. Most all around skilled player ever at the time.
JJ Reddick should whatch this !!!
@chad stengel 🤔you old coot🤭
@chad stengel I think you meant to say you know more about old school WNBA.
But Thanks.
You had a front row seat to watch the game winner.
Hahahahahahahaha
F***ing Shaq! 🍻🖖😎
1:11 "Lar' Burd..." Love Chuck!

Yep, only 6 inches between the ball and rim on all sides. ;-)
"That damn Larry Bird." What else could he say?
Imagine the shit Larry was talking to Chuck before and after he hit that 😂

Awesome! Two original dream teamers.
that "oh oh" lol
He 'almost' missed it, lol.
you had a floor seat....lol
That "uh-oh" is very clear. Either Chuck is remembering what happened, or he's watching the play and can see he's not in a good position for the play.
Almost had it, like he almost won a ring.
A little harsh don't you think? Look what Charles was up against...
Chuck is a top 5 power forward ever
Little harsh dude, that's sir Charles. Besides, he don't need no stinking, ring... ( Yea, i dated myself) Lol

Actually he almost did. You can see how stiff his body looks. Probably wanted to dish it inside.
