Nice video with great information... Two important points I would add: 1- passive pins can come into play when picking. I've encountered a couple Abus dimple locks like this one in which the false set pushes the passive pins up, and blocks access to the active pins. 2- these Abus keyways force you to rotate the pick in the same direction as tension, which makes allowing counter rotation much harder, and increases the difficulty of the lock significantly IMO. This lock would be much easier if you could pick it the other way. Again, great video!
I guess Im asking randomly but does anyone know of a way to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost my login password. I would love any tips you can offer me
@Kian Kellen Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I know youre a busy man and probably wont even read this but, thanks to you I bought some lockpicks. Following your advice I bought me a Masterlock #3 to start with and can pick it easily now. I needed a bigger challenge after that to help improve my skills and feel but money is tight right now, the only other option I had was an Abus N-83CS/55 left over from my days of longhaul trucking. I had no expectations of getting into this lock for months. Thanks to you and all the videos you produce, I finally got into this lock today. The pin that was screwing me up was a spool in the #3 spot, finally figured it out just watching your vids while messin with it.Thank you again Bill, you've officially created a monster :)
You did a awesome job with your channel on this video for beginners on dimple pins and how to pick them. Although I am able to watch you and I get a lot out of your videos on lock picking and that's because even though I do not have a engineering degree, I am a quite educated in engineering and I am a license contractor and I have a class A and D mechanical license. And being a full time repair man I work on all kinds of equipment and I am able to closely watch what you are doing to learn about how to pick locks but I recommend that you speak more about what you are doing with the picks inside the locks as you pick them so others will be able to understand what you are doing to pick open the Lock and that way they learn more and will take a much better interest in the Locksport and your channel. I really like your video's and you are my favorite to watch regarding lock picking and last night around 7:45pm I ordered my very first lock pick set from Sparrows and I did send Sparrows a email message and I told them that I learned about the Sparrows company products from watching your videos and that you do awesome review's on Sparrows products and from watching your videos is why I'm ordering my very first lock pick set from Sparrows and I'm going to order more stuff from them in the future. I mentioned your channel has the Sparrows lock picking mat in almost all the videos for good product placement and advertising and I just can't wait for my first professional lock picking tools set from Sparrows to show up and feel how they work compared to the homemade lock picks I have been using. I thank you for helping me learn how to pick locks and for the work you put into your channel.
I just started getting ok at the master locks. I went to all the home improvement stores looking for a different brand and found nothing tougher. This hobby is addictive you should have a disclaimer 😁👍
Ive collected locks for 12 years. I just sorted all my random keys & locks in boxes yesterday. I hope to find time this year to hone skills. Ive shimmed and picked cheap locks before but I need a challenge
I've had the same lock since last June, watched your other video on this model (at LEAST 20 times), can pick the hell out of some Mul-t-lock interactives... and still can't get my damn Abus 85IB/50 open! Such a frustrating lock! Kudos Abus. Also, kudos Bill on your videos! Absolutely love them.
So is a dimple pick not needed? I sawthelockpick lawyer use one for the dimples and the the little curved end pick for the tumblers. But all u did was pick the tumblers. This is confusing, what method is best? Thanks
You must have watched a video of LPL picking a dimple pick with side sliders. For normal dimple picks, this is the only pick needed If the lock contains side sliders, then you'll need to manipulate them with a different pick. I like using a half diamond, but pretty much any straight pick will work.
Just ordered 10 of these keyed alike before this video. Much easier to make sure nobody copies the keys and no amateur picker will get into it. Keeps employees honest
Thanks. Where did you purchase that pick set? I need a good dimple pick set. Can you tell me where to get "music wire"? A little vague in my experience.
+HORIZONS Thanks. I'll pick one of those sets up, but in the mean time I'd love to experiment with different brands and kinds. Not alot of dimple locks in my area, but that doesn't mean I don't want to master it...lol.
Justin Terrell I hear you, it's fun practicing! I picked up a couple Angal deadbolts from Amazon and a few plugs to practice on. The Mul-T-lock design dimple locks are definitely different than the American pinned locks I've been practicing on. I am definitely a novice at this, but enjoying it!
+HORIZONS I'm a Security Specialist for over 10 years now...but by no means a specialist in dimple or multilocks lol. I love my career and the Locksport. Love what Bill does here.
Very cool! Thanks, uncle bill. What if there was a timer in the corner of the screen for some occasional speed pick challenges. maybe with the odd novel rule thrown in. good vibes
Hi, I have a 20 years old Cisa lock witch has vertical key way and normal serated key, but it has also side pins on both sides. The key has also a little holes on both sides to. So how to attack (pick ) this lock. Thanks for the answer.
Hey @bosnianbil I've bought exatcly that lock as a first try getting into dimple locks. I've also bought the elite g pro set from multipick (I am from Germany plus "buyoncecryonce"). I've managed to set some pins an spools but I do not get one high cut spool in the back.. Which picks of the set would you use on this lock? I use number 10 an start picking from the "pin side" of the lock so I do not have to struggle with the warding but for the high cut spool the flag on that tip is to flat. I've tried with number 8 from the multipick set but no luck.. Mind giving me an advice? Thanks!
PePe Moke There is no advice that I can give that is not exactly what you are already doing. I use the deepest hook I can squeeze into the keyway to reach the high-cut pins that are in every Abus lock. You might experiment with different tensions and force the binding order, allowing you to pick the rearmost first, but the odds of success are not good. You could also use a small file to shape the tip of your deep hook, which might give you enough clearance to pick that nasty pin. Failing that, drive down to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and throw your lock into the Eibsee. If you go in August, I might see you do it. 😀
@@bosnianbill 😂 Thanks for the advice! I'm just keeping my lessons up and pick that damn thing day and night. Water is useless against that abus devil, it's the marine edition..have to throw it into the fires of mount doom!
@bosnianbill ever foil impressioned a Mul T lock interactive? I have two, an E14 and a C8, which absolutely will not pick. I’ve picked other identical padlocks and cylinders, but I just do not know why they are so unresponsive.
But can you pick any of these locks with them not held steady in a vice...like if they were hanging on a chain securing a fence or something...you know, like how locks are actually used.
hey im looking for a good lock that would keep my motorcycle safe and that is damn near impossible to pick shim rake spit glue duck tape or man handle open is there something you can suggest to me?
I have just picked my first dimple lock an iseo r6 I found it very hard or is it just me ? would love to try a muti t but don't think my skills are there yet any suggestions on other dimple locks to practice with. ?
+bosnianbill I can always pick it just takes a long time I'm glad to know it's a tricky lock which means I'm getting better......Thanks for the tips on picking dimples great channel
This is the very first "Real" lock picked. Done it 3 times yesterday. Today, I tried to rake it open and I got it open twice. On my third attempt, the rake bloody snapped inside it. Anyone know how I can get it out? Thanks.
Hey Bosnianbill, I have 2 questions for you. First: Where did you get that custom lock pick case with your name on it? I love the look and design of it and would love to purchase one for myself. Second: I posted on Reddit a while back about making the ultimate lock picking website/app. Where we have reviews, tutorials, news, giveaways etc. Would you be interested in helping with reviews and tutorials once we get the website up and running? Please get back to me at your earliest convenience! Thanks!
You're so damm good, and ìm so bad, you really amaze me. Were those pins you were picking all on the bottom, or were you switching from top to bottom? Great pick Mr. Bill. Wow!!⛏🔓
How pissed would you be is someone picked open every lock in your house while you were asleep just to mess with you. Just to give you that violated feeling, nothing more. Lol

ItsBenbetter >>> Ha ha nicely said
"the Abus Engineers are very hateful people.." HAHAHAHAHA! I really get great joy watching your videos!
That lock is worth much more than anything I might have to lock up with it.
you could lock up all those master locks, so they don't get stolen LOL! :-D

Very good review bill. Now I just have convince Mr.Q to mass produce those titanium tension wrenches! Best wishes from Germany your friend, Adrian
I love to watch this videos and I don't know why
Same as me. I'm not into lock picking, but I just love these videos.
👍
I just started getting ok at the master locks. I went to all the home improvement stores looking for a different brand and found nothing tougher. This hobby is addictive you should have a disclaimer 😁👍
Fantastic video yet again Bill. I have the 75IB/40 in my collection next to my Abus TITALIUMS. Love the look of the TITALIUMS and the Marine locks.
I miss your videos. It's nice to hear your voice again.
Awesome pickin' again Bill, thank you. Did you ever "gut" a dimple lock; would love to see how they're built and work inside 😉👍
I'm awed. I can't imagine being able to pick locks like this.
Thanks Bill for another great video; always fun watching you get that last pin and watching it open.
Thank you bosnian bill for giving us all this amazing information, i hope you have a nice retirement and wish you the best

Thanks Bill. I just ordered one of those to put on my storage unit.
We can't forget how to make tools like tension wrenchs. Thanks Bill
wow the security is so high I wouldn't even try!! brilliant for top pickers like you guys :-)
Thanks. Where did you purchase that pick set? I need a good dimple pick set.
Can you tell me where to get "music wire"? A little vague in my experience.
+Justin Terrell -- Sparrows just emailed me and let me know this summer they will have a dimple pick set available if you can hold out until then. :)

AMAZING SKILL !!!! Do You think You could open it WITHOUT a vice? Just holding it in Your Hand?? Thank You !!
Would the sparrows abus bypass tool work on this lock?
Great video. Do they make these where they have pins on both sides of the cylinder? Like 12 pins instead of 6.
+J.L Hoffy Pretty sweet locks. Thats exactly what i had in mind.
Impressive picking of a dimple-lock

How important is it to use a vice when picking? Is it just for purposes of the video?
it just makes the lock much easier to work with
Have those titanium tension wrenches come available yet?
now i can go into my school
thank you man

Impressive. When the SHTF, I want Bill on my team.
Very nice to hear whats happening ! 😁✌
Awesome video Bill. time to get the dimple locks out!
How about a 4 combination padlock and a rotating dial padlock? Are those harder to open?
Can this lock be raked with such a tight key way?
Great as always Bill! Question for you - I have had a rough time finding dimple locks to start working on; where is the best place to find them?
cools, i will keep at it.
Great tips. I've found your videos very helpful. Thanks and keep them coming.
What brand is this dimple pick Bill?
Made by a company named "Souber". I got it from lockpickscanada.com
Thanks Bill! You're the man!
Hey Bill, where would you recommend an absolute beginner start to learn how to pick locks?
Which is the un packable ,high security padlock? Pls give me suggestion
I have a question, is it posible to pick a lock with only using paper clips or bobby pens
It depends on the lock, but yes it is. Bill picked a Master using a plastic zip tie.
Where were/are the dimple picks from? Don't see it above in the credits...
But can you pick any of these locks with them not held steady in a vice...like if they were hanging on a chain securing a fence or something...you know, like how locks are actually used.
With there being less key control pins and them being common to an institution doesn't it make more sense to attack them?
Awesome Video Bill. Keep up the great work. Nick.
hey im looking for a good lock that would keep my motorcycle safe and that is damn near impossible to pick shim rake spit glue duck tape or man handle open is there something you can suggest to me?
Good job my man!
So just starting out and ordered some Tontec picks. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect out of this brand of pick?
I have just picked my first dimple lock an iseo r6 I found it very hard or is it just me ? would love to try a muti t but don't think my skills are there yet any suggestions on other dimple locks to practice with. ?
+bosnianbill I can always pick it just takes a long time I'm glad to know it's a tricky lock which means I'm getting better......Thanks for the tips on picking dimples great channel
Tricky little sucker!!😈😈
If I started now I think I would be there till the fall😄😄
Are they rake able ( at least into a false set??
+bosnianbill thanks for the reply😘😘
This is the very first "Real" lock picked. Done it 3 times yesterday. Today, I tried to rake it open and I got it open twice. On my third attempt, the rake bloody snapped inside it. Anyone know how I can get it out? Thanks.
harpoon rake
Great explanation bill
Could you do like a top 5 / top 10 list of the 'most difficult locks to pick'.
Your vids are great mate. i cant wait next one
Could you rake such a lock ?
I dont know why every time I see your videos I imagine you are a dentist talking to your patient :)
What a good lock
