@@bigcsbigbrother3685 It makes the character immune to Terra Break, if only 2 characters have the defend command. The idea is to defend with 2, and break the 3rd, so you take 0 damage from the otherwise guaranteed-wipe Terra Break. What I don't know is how it was predicted so perfectly.

Love this video!!!❤ every other friggin video on youtube shows the same boring strategy of Zell/Squall/Rinoa...using the same crappy routine😴 i have never seen anyone use this combo before!?😮
Nice!! First time I killed this beast was with The End, and then I got my own strategy by starting with Low health Squall and Irvine, and full health with Rinoa, the three of them below level 30. Meltdown with either of the guys and a potion on Omega with with each turn of Rinoa (between the animation of her using the item and the fact Omega gets confused it gives you a few seconds to use the LImit Breaks with the guys). Spammed Pulse Ammo and Renzokuken while using potions with Rinoa and got him before he could do Megido Flame. The first time I killed that way I had to use Hero `cause he attacked me way too fast...then I realized I had the Battle Speed at maximum (facepalm). Still, this is a nice strategy.
That's the speed I always had the game at and looking back, I'm glad I did. This game was easy enough xD. Like you though I couldn't beat this guy without invincible due to that.
I like using Squall, Rinoa and Zell for this fight. In the OG version, it’s possible to NOT learn Invincible Moon so it shouldn’t be a problem when going for no invincibility abilities or items play through. Haven’t played the remaster so Idk if that works.
I love FF8. It badly needs a remake. But the easily exploited Junction System needs a massive overhaul. The enemy who is supposed to be the strongest in the game should not be hitting you with Ultima and you take mere hundreds in damage. The formulae used for progression in damage is much higher for physical than magical as well. They seriously need to rework this.
Omega Weapon is technically the strongest boss but he has a *massive* handicap in that he uses a fixed playlist of attacks which never changes, so you always know exactly which attack to prepare for. There are many bosses which hit for less and have less HP but are harder to fight because they're not predictable.
Sadly, this guy isnt remotely difficult once you realise he always has a set pattern in the original (I assume its the same in the "remastered" version). And defend pretty much saves you from his worst attack as well. It just becomes a routine of knowing when to defend, and when to use an item or spell. Personally, I made it a challenge to kill him as fast as possible with Angel Wing Rinoa; make sure she only knows ONE offensive spell (meteor) and give her 255 magic (or as high as possible using non-offensive magic) auto-haste, Magic +60%/Magic+40%. Angel Wing + auto-haste + that magic will have her summon meteors non-stop, dealing relatively fast chunks of damage. Have the other two just defend and... well she wins the fight.
This is a very clean strat, only time I ever fought/killed omega weapon I was relying on an awful party with pretty much everything focused on squall using aura & spamming renzokuken/lionheart then praying like hell his tetra break didn’t annihilate my party and having the other 2 guys just stand there casting megalixers & Phoenix downs 🤦♂️😂

You can also set your ATB as "Wait". Whenever you are in a windows to Select an action (i.e. decidí G which magic to use) the enemies will halt and not do a command until you have opened another 2nd windows.
If you use bonus hp etc you don't have to use hp + 20-40% etc, and fast ammo does more than 9999x3 of hyper, because they hit around 4-5k each. And probably your Quistis got low mag value

@@pinoygoukirage HOLY CRAP! I didn't know you could do that! I usually manual Squall's limit break, and sometimes I f-up because my controller screws up sometimes!
True cheese = Squall, Zell and Quistis, all with Auto-Haste. (Auto-Protect if you have remaining Ability space) Use Meltdown on Omega, someone with Expendx3-1 to do Aura and Regen triple-casting. Then milk that Duel with Zell for everything with the "Armageddon Fist" strategy. Have Squall follow with Renzokuken, and Quistis with Shockwave Pulsar. Doing this over and over hardly lets Omega get to do anything much. Regen will make sure you're at 9999 for Megiddo Flame, and after that point, the fight shouldn't take much longer; the right playing under those conditions, with some good luck for getting Lion Heart to come out, doesn't let Omega get to Gravija, much less Terra Break. IF EVEN THAT. I believe you can find Auras in the Island Closest to Heaven and the Island Closest to Hell, rather than having to use the stones. In the end, nobody needs the Holy Wars at all if you're practiced enough and have the above setup on Junctions. Even refining the "X Up" items to directly increase a character's stats would help. Believe me, when you are all set up, Omega is just a joke time sink of a handful of minutes. After that, nothing really poses a challenge.
To add on to your comment about auras, I found they’re best farmed in the island closest to hell, over there is where Ruby dragons usually spawn with a fair chance to get fury fragments which can be refined into 5 auras.
Winning this battle with invincibility takes so much of the skill and almost all of the difficulty out of the battle. A really good ff8 player can win pretty easily even without that.

I used GameShark for this battle after I beat the game and was still difficult. This was my first ff game and the best rpg game, I still search for it years later.
It surprise me every time ,how different the versions from other countrys are. In Germany ,the Level-5 Death is not to be missable ,if the lv are able to devide by 5 ,and even with 100% death immunity ,you would die.
@@N.i.E.M.O You must be faster then Omega ,then you can use the item to be invincible for a short time. Omega use Level-5 Death just in the beginning of the fight ,then never again. Pal version Omega is always Level 100. Even when the Party level is 10 / 20 / 50 ,it doesn´t matter.
Personally I didn’t use rinoa’s dog at all for this battle. I ended up using her sorcery limit break angel wing purely for her to spam meteor with no depletion whatsoever.

@@superneverover Hahahhahahahah! you make me laugh. the real no cheese strategy is absolutely no exploits to opponent stats. Everything at Omega's Max stats. No Vit 0 or Limit Break or even using "The End" slot Limit break. Meaning everything you do against Omega is normal abilities/attacks/draws. @@謝元富-x3s yeah at 9999 hp you'll be down to 1 hp
The post battle theme is so rewarding
Can you give me the walkthrough of defeating Omega. What magics you junctioned, thanks
100 death on status defense for his first wave of attack, make sure to have 9999 hp to survive Megido Flame because it will hit at 9998 damage, haste or triple on your speed junction
@@pinoygoukirage Thank you for this
@@pinoygoukirage SWEET! Thanks!
Is there a reason not to use manual Renzokuken?
yes, so that you can still input commands while Squall is doing his Renzo
@@pinoygoukirage HOLY CRAP! I didn't know you could do that! I usually manual Squall's limit break, and sometimes I f-up because my controller screws up sometimes!
True cheese = Squall, Zell and Quistis, all with Auto-Haste. (Auto-Protect if you have remaining Ability space)
Use Meltdown on Omega, someone with Expendx3-1 to do Aura and Regen triple-casting.
Hmmm Squall, Zell or Irvine & Quistis or Rinoa 🤔, Selphie (The End only) 😁:
1. Omega Megiddo Flame
2. Holy War
3. Limit Break
4 Repeat
Easy Win 👍.
eh the normal way then? or is lionheart not allowed?
"Oh i remember this let's see if it's a complete number like I remember "
Omega : INSTANT LVL 5 DEATH
"Yep..."
in my opinion .. the most difficult when given a magic lamp by CID ... and you directly fight Diablos ... when your level is low .. maybe Squall level 10-12...
and One person attack two other supporting...
How did you dodge the lv5 death? I been trying to figure that out for a while.
Propably he/she junctioned death to status effects.
I was shocked by terra break damage in my first encountered with him.
Just transform laguna card into 100x hero potion. And GG 😜
He didn't want to use invincibility. People also go for perfect item runs.
I remember fighting this boss. I always kept losing.
I remember doing this as Renzo as may only attack and the 2 character only for cure and buff. Men it took me almost an hours, i think my lion heart hates me
テラブレイク、石化で防げるの知らなかった
すごい
Woah! I didn’t know that shockwave pulsar could do over 9999 damage 😮
Yes, shockwave pulsar and kamikaze can break damage limit
Here take a look m.ua-cam.com/video/yyeyAPWNkDc/v-deo.html
and Eden
Yup! I was today years old when I found that out!
Why do you use automatic renzokuken?
Also I heard that the Japanese version is way harder then this
The PS1 version is harder and Omega weapon in PS1 doesn't give you a break to think your next move! I see they tone down a bit Omega weapon for the PC version..
@@Syonaga_Auron777 Ah! Got! Do you believe if I say that I killed ultima on PS1, Japanese version (don't speak japanese) and with the initial weapons? I know your feeling
Selphie sighs. She says violence is not the answer. That will take you a minute or less than that to finish him.
did you even read the description?
just realize the defense command can block the damage up to 0
I LOVE your strategy! Beating Omega Weapon the same way, gets boring after a while. HOLY S%#@! Shockwave Pulsar does THAT much damage! May actually care about getting it! Hmm, Aura stones are nifty, so you don't have to use Heroes! Me:' Why did you turn Squall to stone?' After seeing the result, OH, that's why! Cool profile picture by the way! From Sword Art Online!
4:50 that is damn smart
I remember the first time i beat omega weapon and you get nothing but a message saying congratulations you beat the strongest monster in the game 😂
Try for Irvine the fast shot combined with max luck....you will be surprised the damage done...
2:00 those limit breaks are sad, since 3x meteor at 255 mag deal ~40k ea
did you even read description?
I'm not talking about Wing meteor,
I'm talking about mag +60% with ultima junctioned.
As long as they're meltdowned it ends up being 30 meteors at 1.2-1.4k damage each.
Why does none use Quistis and Mighty Guard and White Wind? the restores everyone up to 9999
Nunca me había fijado, pero los sonidos de las limit break son bastante ruidosas 😖
old days love it
I used GameShark for this battle after I beat the game and was still difficult. This was my first ff game and the best rpg game, I still search for it years later.
It surprise me every time ,how different the versions from other countrys are.
In Germany ,the Level-5 Death is not to be missable ,if the lv are able to devide by 5 ,and even with 100% death immunity ,you would die.
So basically if all of your characters are already level 100, it is impossible to beat Omega Weapon?
@@N.i.E.M.O You must be faster then Omega ,then you can use the item to be invincible for a short time. Omega use Level-5 Death just in the beginning of the fight ,then never again.
Pal version Omega is always Level 100. Even when the Party level is 10 / 20 / 50 ,it doesn´t matter.
Rinoas wishing star has greater dmg.than shockwave
Francis Sigueza True but using Rinoa and Angelo can trigger Invincible Moon and it’s not what the player is going for.
Personally I didn’t use rinoa’s dog at all for this battle. I ended up using her sorcery limit break angel wing purely for her to spam meteor with no depletion whatsoever.
I used selphies "the end" just to see if it worked
yes it's working 😊
How did Gilgamesh appear randomly mid fight? I don't remember that.
it's random and it's useless because you can't kill Omega Weapon even he manage to choose Zantetsuken
When will be the remake version? Im definitely will buy ps5 if that happens!
Does the ps1 ver already have the break dmg limit?
yes using Shockwave Pulsar and Kamikaze, you can break damage limit with high magic stats for pulsar and max hp with kamikaze
@@pinoygoukirage Eden summon also breaks damage limit. These attacks have a damage cap of 60000
I remember when i was fighting this i was lucky to use selphies ultimate the end hehe
Killed Omega Weapon using "The End" Slot Limit Break by keeping Selphie HP very Low at the Beginning of the Fight. 1 hit Kill.
ua-cam.com/video/8M2I0th4UAw/v-deo.html
No item and magic usage challenge. I've done it many times u can too
Using break to block... nice!
Why is there no bar when you do the Renzokuken?
Auto Renzokuken
@@pinoygoukirage is that in the settings?
@@laurencehunter1544 go to Status and keep clicking until the settings for Renzokuken appears
Yea i just aura him to death back in the day. Squalls lionheart limit break is different mixed with ap shot
Cast blind on Squall and he almost always does lionheart.
@@DZGenesiszero That is one heck of a way to manipulate RNG
There is a non aura battle strat in FFVIII, that is viable? Aside from triple meteors.
@@davidevans7477 casting blind and aura on Squall vastly increases chances of Lionheart, as his base hit % is maxed he never misses.
Defeating this monster needs concentration and proper junctions.
YUP!
Wow I didn't know Defend protected against Terra break. I've already kicked his a many times but yeah
yes, petrified/break as well
you're a goddamn genius
i dont remember Omega Weapon being hard, i just go in (lv 100) with yellow health and just wailed on him. no invincibility.
Squall, Irvine and Zell - Zell is broken.
No cheese it says. But utilizes Meltdown Limit cheese strategy. GREAT!
meltdown is not a cheese...
Meteors/Ultimas are acceptable as their damage output can be reduced due to opponents SPR and as far as I know, there's no SPR 0 magic. Let that sink in. Little kid. I've yet to see someone pull this off.
@@lightningfarron5631 Wow that surely doesn’t take long before you started to be terribly condescending. I don’t consider meltdown a cheese because that’s not really an exploit that can make you invisible or even be one hit kill the boss. But yeah whatever, not like I care much.
@@superneverover That's still an exploit dude. Cause you're literally taking advantage of opponent's stats and using that advantage to break the damage barrier that should've been a factor of a No Cheese strategy. It's a cheese strat cause you just made it easy to deal damage. I'm condescending cause you claim to not be using a cheese strat when you're clearly using the most common cheese strat on ALL bosses EVER. Meltdown Limit?? Puh-lease... that's been used to beat Final Ultimecia in less than 10 minutes. It's also used to freaking beat Ultima Weapon easily. You just found a way to circumvent the need of the other cheese strat which is invincibility. If you don't care, then change the title cause it's freaking misleading. You ARE using a cheese strat. There's no way you can deny it.
I do have a high 5 with this boss and shouting when i do defeated him
I have beaten Omega Weapon without using Meltdown. I did have holy wars though
I think first time I beat him (certainly not first attempt overall xD) I had one holy war? The rest of it was just me being very f**king lucky with Rinoa's invincible moon ability 🤣
Definitely, i need invincible to kill this thing
I let all 3 squall, irvine/zell and rinoa in critical health, buff aura and haste. Meltdown on it and then... I kill it real fast... They have gotta in critical health tho
