Couple of things. Ya tried, ya done it. But. Ya done it wrong unfortunately bud. 1st part, easiest way of getting the belt on, take the plastic cover off the back, take out the sbar holding the shaft into the bearing, take the 2 screws out of the water container and the back panel will come loose, ya can get the belt between the back panel and the shaft then. Saves taking the whole front off and the battle. Then, the fan under that cover, take it off, easier to slip the belt on. And finally, the belt u have in the wrong position, when ur looking at it the back of the belt under the drum is supposed to come out and over that pulley wheel, not pushed in, so that's why it's making that noise, it will eventually break again and isn't under enough tension, easiest way is to get the old belt and wrap it behind new belt and pull as hard as ya can to get it over the white pulley wheel. Just the way ya went about it made life hard on urself, and the belt being on wrong, otherwise, well done pal
Cheers Balfie. the belt under the belt trick makes sense, but I wouldn't have thought of it. As for the belt being in wrong, This is an issue for a have a go mechanic who didn't take it apart, I can't really tell what way it should go back together, time will destroy it then and as it is now on long loan with a pal it will eventually come back to me if it goes! I meant to repair the filter too, but that didn't get done. Not my best effort, But when I get a comment from you I seem to learn something!
Balfie always comes up with good advice Tommy,, and even thought it's critical it is all constructive. There is more in his comment than in all of me blundering through this video!

Hi you put the belt on wrong it needs to go over the jockey wheel on the motor, not underneath it it’s quite tricky to do
Thanks, Balfie told me the same thing. I have given the machine to a friend, so it can be saved!
