How'd you feel about the new tune from Northlane?
..... Mehhh
@@diogoneto7190 hmm Mesmer had also electronic elements 😄
Every Northlane albums mixed together...they have own style like nobody has👌 and Marcus is genius
First listen I was on the fence, definitely grown on me.
It’s not really new anymore for them but I like it! They do it right!
Why does northlane’s synths sound so much better than any other metalcore band that uses them? They’re so much fuller and pleasing to the ear
It might be because they use analog snyths? Such a great sound
Mixed by Nolly I would say certainly has a positive effect too.
because jon is a synth god dude.
@@dev4965 fair enough
Basically why the whole "Hardware vs Software" argument exists, there's only so much you can do to make vsts/plugins sound authentic production wise as apposed to having physical synthesisers.
Northlane and Loathe pushing the industry in the best of directions. Got to fucking love it!
dont forget TALLAH
Brand of Sacrifice too, their new album is insane
Don’t even understand people calling this a grower. This is a straight banger on first listen
It just gets better
Yeah I became obsessed first listen, and been replaying it nonstop and it only gets better. I’m so in love with the synths, the whole song is perfect.
“I’M RUNNING OUT OF TIMMMME”
👏👏👏
I am Northlane fan since Node, and I am really digging the vibe from their new electronic sound. I consider it as evolution and natural and progressive step forward (progressive evolution for progressive type of metal). When I listened to Node and Mesmer it felt as very modern type of progressive metalcore, but now I got a futuristic vibe from it, which is even better. So yeah, I feel like the band is ahead of the time now, which is pretty sick.
Every time Northlane releases a new song it becomes my new fav pretty quick
NEW BORN OF OSIRIS OMG
also... NEW ERRA OMG
And new landmarks!!
So much happening !! Love it 🤘
AND a new beartooth track!
Dude that new erra album is bangers from start to end. Still trying to figure out how I didn't know about em until mid-2020.
Nick Rossi Killin some solos in the new BOO.
Sounds like all of alien combined with some extra seasoningggggg, beautiful track
If you don’t do an Erra album reaction I’m gonna shit
You need to hear the new Holding Absence song In Circles! Insanely beautiful song.
Idk if some MetalBirb followers know them, but in my younger days i got real hooked into this Japanese duo called Boom Boom Satellites. They mostly had like a ton of electronic elements, but had phrases where they would insert guitar and bass. I know though Northlane probably came to these elements on their own. But i kinda wonder if they drew inspiration from them
Underrated band.
Very much so... i want them to get way bigger but i also like where they are... just enough to keep them in my pocket just a bit longer. i Saw Northlane , ERRA with Crystal Lake and it was perfect. Venue was packed held about 1000 people and it was so intimate. The bands were just walking around the crowd and mech area taking photos and signing.
Underrated? They are one of the most talked about bands in the scene.
@@sarcasm4371 "in the scene". Exactly, I'm talking out of the scene. They deserve more exposure, radio, top 100, etc.
@@Vyngraven that's not going to happen, the masses do not like music like this. If that's the case, you can say this about 50 bands in the scene. There is a reason it's not well known to begin with, creativity and uniqueness are not welcome in todays pop music. And if they do it's typically because they give up their unique limbs to make more pop friendly music, almost never does a band benefit from a lot of exposure.
@@sarcasm4371 It can easily happen, if you can't tell Northane is changing their style to become eligible to be on radio. Its up to them at the end of the day, if they continue to stay on this new road and not look back, they will find themselves in a place of even more exposure.
Making more accessible music has nothing to do with giving up creativity.
Brilliant review as always! The part I loved the most was when the car's headlights really popped out at the end with the last measure
Damn Marcus is such a great singer. 😀Love his cleans
You got to check out the new while she sleeps song.
Alternative title: "Cletus flexing on us and vibing with his new chair for almost 11 minutes"
For real though, awesome song. I can already tell I'm gonna be humming the hook melody at random times in the day over the next few months.
This one's a grower for sure. That punchy groove at the end is hot AF
I have no idea how you made your comment so gay. Impressive.
Man you hit the nail right down the middle. Northlane have always been in their own lane.. they're just now fully realizing it and taking it into the future of metal and electronic music combined to create the hybrid you've mentioned. For the first time in a long time I am eagerly excited about what direction a band will now move into. Planning to get a Northlane tattoo with album art from their different albums combined and smashing it in to a big music sleeve. Northlane is endlessly phenomenal and I love the fact you're talking at length about them (whether I agree or not). Thanks man
Absolutely love this. I feel like how they're blending electronic and metal is being influenced majorly by Pendulum and I'm all for that.
I was really worried when I saw it was the theme song for eSports but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is.
Was waiting for this
that mid breakdown reminded me of meshuggah with that tone and polyrhythmic section🔥
Loving this song and electronic vibe 😁
Marcus was on the radio here in Aus and said they’ve written a new album and will be recording soon 🤘🤘
the drop was so simple but the tone and the rhythm made it so satisfying to listen to
you just voiced my thoughts! very nice groove tho. Interesting I wonder what they listen to. Synth sound is very dense and you can hear its not random choose of sounding. I didn't notice arps. Thanks for outsole
Can’t wait to see what the new chair brings to the channel 🔥🔥🔥
Definitely an intro to me for this band. Now I need to check out all of their past records.
My favourite song of this year! I listen to it all day at work and at the gym
Awesome single, Northlane keeps impressing me
There is a new single from holding absence by the way
I wouldn't want an entire album to sound like this, but I love this as a single and it would be a great flavor to an album
I gotta say it reminded of older enter shikari in some ways but still totally their own thing, really interesting track
Love this tune!!
I love the def influence of modern electronic and some Nine inch nail industrials
Yes I needed this reaction, the Alien vibe is unlike any other metal band
So many good songs coming out!
Even though this song is repetitive, I really don't mind it, I love the synths in this songs so much.
LET ME SEE THE RAINBOOOOOW
Breakdown rhythm 7:50
In 4/4
8th notes & 2 & - then dotted 8ths note until it's come back round to the 1 &
Ie.
& 2 & 3e 4 4a 1& etc..... snare back beat on beat 3.
Additional diddles on the & 2 & last time round (& 2e&)
Same thing is happening in the section before 7:30. Just common time back beat snare on 2 and 4
Sounds like a B Movie/B-side type of thing from Alien. I love it. Had it on repeat yesterday
I disagree, enemy of the night was actually a b-side but this is not a b-side, this is the next step in their discography. Sounds fresh to me. Also they said it might be a standalone, might be on their next album, they’re not sure yet
@@johnnykooks4096 Enemy of The Night was sick! Forgot about that one! If Clockwork is a new single from a possible upcoming new album, I'm very much looking forward to it!
Reminds me a lot of Enter Shikari.
I get to see them in June 😍
They released a full electronic remix ep of alien... called 5D. only a couple weeks ago i think...
5G*
@@aristsiakalos4040 yep thats the one... my bad
i hope they continue their weird path of mixing low AF guitars with massive synths... they are creating a new genre as we speak
Yo you GOTTA do the new Wristmeetrazor track featuring Isaac from KL!!
Yeah, sounds quite simple and edm on the surface! However those are very cool & interesting synths especially the main ones which are actually more dirty than you think on first listen, also the rhythms are quite unique. I knew you'd be on this one considering the amount I've heard you bring them up 😊
Northlane may just have perfected the sound they used on the last album, kinda like BMTH have lately with their style.
that ending riff reminds me of the ending of a linkin park song, cant remember which one
The only thing that i remember on a similar style was Self vs self by pendulum and in flames. As a fan of both metalcore and DnB this is very promising for me
I freaking love this song
I think this new track is for a video game soundtrack. Can’t put my finger on which game it was though.
Official theme song for the Rainbow Six Siege Esports Oceanic League
genre-bending metals!
New Northlane baby!
It'll be interesting to see if they replace old mate that left last year
Music video gives off a lot of Saviour -- Never Sleep vibes
sick song
Little bit of Rick Sanchez vibes 0:22
Im ready for this next album for sure, i dug alien so much
What headphones do you use? How do you like them?
I love it
The new chair is gonna change this channel 🔥
They are have to do ending a little bit longer with that good sound!
So fucking good
I got a little sick of the chorus by the end of it but overall pretty awesome track. Northlane has become easily one of my top favorite bands since alien. And clearly Marcus is trying to copy Birb's hairstyle but he just can't compete, needs to let that thing grow out more.
Born of Osiris - White Nile Reaction Next!?
Northlane has always been a trend starting band, and always switch it up when others finally catch up.
Wonder where the sound of this band would be if Adrian was still the lead vocalist... Oh well.. lots of new bands filling that niche and I guess it's good to see Northlane doing something unique and not just following the Architects/BMTH sound trend.
is that a camera issue or something else. Sometimes his face looks extra shiny basicaaly at 0:53
My camera just likes to auto focus on my greasyness
I am glad it wasn't just me that saw that lol. He was so shiny 😂
@@AlistairBooth yeah this issue i saw some other times too XD
@@METALBIRB Adding in clips from the song to your discussion helped me understand your points better. The extra work did make the video better so thank you.
Check out Monasteries- Digital Suicide
song go brrrtt bang bang
I need a new chair bro I broke this one going hog wild with dealer and Silent Planet last year haha
I am a massive fan of my fellow Sydney boys. So this song is just another... Banger of course. But sadly the bass player has parted ways but they are still an amazing band and huge inspirations for me.
It sucks that he had to leave, but I fully get wanting to go back to Canada during the last year given everything that was going on
nnnnoooooooo what?? Brendon was such an amazing addition to the band
@@toesuc yeah man it sucks but as old mate said here, he went back to Canada.
Why did he leave the band?
@@MarcosIx as he said, he loves being a musician, and loved being in Northlane. But he hates being away from his family during tours...
I somewhat get Mick Gordon’s Doom album vibes
NEW BORN OF OSIRIS!
Northlane make me happy.
😍😍😍😍😍
Yeah idk how I feel about this one. The guitar tones are tight, but it feels kinda like a step back? It seems like an overly simple pop/electronic song with some heavy bits thrown in here and there. The breakdown was neat but overall it didn't really vibe for me.
Industrialcore
I'm not a huge fan of Northlane, so I don't really have an opinion on this song. With that being said, Johnny Booth's new song fucking RIPS. Shit slaps.
8:08 man electronic music has so many different sub genres within it (like metal) to say its all just simple 4/4 dance music is very very wrong but i get what you're saying, its just that you only know the surface level stuff.
Sounds like the “breakdown” is in 5/4
😄Hello Mike I'm here once again making a presence because I love your reaction videos.🤝
🇧🇷Please react to the video "2020 em uma musica" It is a cover, mashup, medley of international and national songs that were successful in 2020, including songs from rap, pop, kpop, trap, forro, brazilian funk but all adapted for rock metal. The video is from the channel "Inutilismo" and the owner of the channel is Lucas Vinicius.🙏🏻
Now that's how you change bands sound! i prefer this over going pop or following more popular bands ...like Architects did on last album.
That breakdown is bouncy.
And extremely nasty.
i read the title as gender bending
Hey guys I haven't been on this channel in ages, but was just wondering what happened to metalbabe/his gf? I don't see her in any of the videos :/
They are still together, living in this new place. She's just more focused on her own thing, and pops in every once in awhile.
Had to take my thumbs up back. I dont dig the elec vibe soo much.
Totally dig all of your review vids but the song nahhhh lol
If you want to check out something a bit different you should react to some Twenty One pilots. I recommend Ode to Sleep, Lane Boy or Heavydirtysoul
If you don’t like the new Erra I’m unsubbing
RIP northlane
Fucking what?
Literally not tho
Lol, no.
