Christ obliterates, transcends, and unites! Amen. Something I’ve known and been aware of on an individual level but never realized am simultaneously. Thanks
It makes me think of the group of blind men who touch different parts of the elephant. Each convinced of his own position. Yet, the one who can see says yes and no at the same time. What you feel is what I see, but it is not the whole. It is more than what you can sense, yet it is still what you sense. Each trope is a part of the whole, which is Christ. The descent into hell is a part. The virgin birth is part. The pagan Christmas tree is part. The ting and yang is part. Yet, none of each of these are the whole. The whole is found in Christ.
By embracing death, Christ was able to live through time, to live after death. Not only through the words of those who defend and live for his legacy, but through us. This is how I feel after these little clip.
Christ is the pattern that we must emulate. And the fact that it's actually necessary for our salvation that Christ descends into Hell itself for some time... that speaks volumes. The descent into the underworld is needed for salvation, and it's something we all must face to some degree as we strive to emulate Him
This is really interesting. Ties in a lot to the stuff I’ve been learning over at “The Created Order” podcast. Why isn’t this more widely talked about?
I believe the teaching of the church is that heaven and hell as they exist now are temporary, and that when Jesus returns, all the chosen will be given new bodies and will be immortal. The early Christians believed that it would happen soon, so now there is some confusion between different denominations on the details of how it works.

2:55 (audible facepalm) so that's why you explode if you try to go to bed in the Nether in Minecraft. It's literally everywhere
Shook!
It’s so awesome that you found Christian symbolism in Minecraft.
@@larrygoatfish1000 I don't think Notch (the developer) was that clever to add it in for that reason. However, as Jonathan says, "symbolism happens".

Minblowing final.
Also the rest was mindblowing as always.

to be fair its pretty deep stuff for general consumption
I agree with you. Hell is a reality. But Then where was Jesus for 3 days
What is he saying here? Transfiguration? Thank you.
First
shall be last...lol
If Jesus ended death and hell…. then why do death and hell still exist? Do they still exist? Or is this an illusion?
asking an earthly question while convinced it is spiritual and mystical

I smell like Chinese food and skuny arm pit juice at the moment. We are in the under world.
