This was the second to last song of a 23 song concert that lasted over 2 hours. And as you can see, The Ladies keep the energy up throughout their concerts. They take all the energy the crowd gives them, and channels it back into their performance.
It may seem hard to believe but Band Maid is even better now in 2022 than they were when this video was shot. Please react to their newest instrumental song " From Now On" The Maids are at the top of their game !
If you want to see a real drum solo check out " Freedom " Live from the same concert ! One of the best for sure =) Thanks for returning to Band-Maid ! Great Reaction ✌🤘🎀
Cool. So, this was the last concert before COVID. They spent lockdown practicing and writing new types of songs. The songwriter, Kanami (lead guitar), is even more creative and the drummer, Akane, has become a monster. To hear their further growth and range of styles, checkout Manner/Black Hole live from one of their COVID era streaming concerts and the MVs for Influencer and From Now On ua-cam.com/video/pN_wg8UAz9A/v-deo.html from their latest album.
When they played this in Philly the whole crowd sung along LOUDLY 😊 I suggest these Band Maid songs: Dice, Manners, Bubble, Blooming, No God (live), & Warning (live)
We would never steer you wrong. Because no matter where we steer it's always in the right direction. BAND-MAID produces quality Hard Rock with melodic and catchy everything. All members are featured players because they are egoless. Check out ONSET-LIVE, an instrumental that is best witnessed ASAP. With an amazing 120+ song catalog I just can't list all their great songs here. They excel at all they do: Rock, ballads, instrumentals, acoustic, traditional Japanese instruments. Their consistency, synergy, energy, talent and FUN they have is a Rock fans dream come true. Peace.
@@JohnReavesLive They did crush it John. Yes they did. And if you think that was just a happenstance. Well, then I dare you to continue listening and watching BAND-MAID. Any Hard Rock purist can spot the real deal a mile away. Hey, I can see all the way to Japan from here. lol.🤣
So many bands struggle to translate their studio efforts to a live performance, not the Maids they are renowned for sheer entertainment excellence when on the stage. Check out some recent fan cams for the pure energy, enjoyment, engagement and talent excess. VIVA the Maids peace and love Po 👍🎼🥁🎤🎸🍻
Yeah, now that you've seen this video, you can *begin* to imagine what it's like being in the concert itself. [Alas, that's all I can do too, at least until they tour this part of the world (I'm in Singapore)]. They did not just replay their song for the audience to enjoy.... they rearranged their own song to make it even more epic when witnessed live. That must have been a lot of effort put in, all for their concert attendees. They also do this for many of their other songs. Heck, they even totally rearranged their compositions to do a Live Acoustic online concert for Christmas last year (year 2021), imagine that.... (this time, I did have the pleasure of being a concert attendee, since it was done online 😁). Band-Maid loves their fans, as much as we love them. This video is now the first submitted evidence to that claim, and trust me, there are a lot more where that comes from. Pity you just missed their US tour that just went by in October 2022. (Then again, the concert tickets did run out so fast, it might have been difficult getting one.... hmmm...). Anyway, the next typical piece of evidence of their awesomeness would probably be in the form of their Official Live video for "Freedom" (totally unrelated to George Michael's song of the same name). It's from the same concert, and features their drummer, Akane, even more (she has a respectably lengthy solo in this one). I noticed she caught your eye in this live "Domination", so it's probably the natural choice for the next song to check out (not that checking out any other video from them would ever be incorrect, yeah?). In conclusion, you have now begun your journey to "get it", you're catching on fast what we love abut this band so much, and we're all glad you've come onboard for this ride. 😊
Enjoyed the reaction. There is a reason we all were so excited waiting three years to see them live when they came back to the US. They did not disappoint with their performance. I saw them at the fillmore in Silversprings (outside DC). It was awesome, to understate it. I would suggest Freedom "Live"
I think your getting it now , I saw them in Seattle on Oct 12th , full energy from start to finish 18 song set with a couple of MC Breaks , BAIND-MAID loves there Madiacs n the Maidiacs Love BAND-MAID . please continue with BAND-MAID you won't be disappointed . enjoy your journey down the pigeon hole.
I had the pleasure of seeing them on the recently finished US tour and I can tell you it was one of the best shows I’ve been to… and I’m 56 years old, and have seen a lot of great groups live. The crowd participation was crazy the whole time, too. Sakai demands it, and us maidiacs are only too happy to oblige!
Yay John. I was waiting for this. Those green lasers. The crowd joining in. Everyone nailed their performances perfectly. I loved the smile on the drummers face, she was having so much fun. So freekin cool! Thank you so much for this. Awesome site man, love it. TOODLES!
There are quite a lot of fancams posted on YT from their recent US tour, some with excellent sound and in HD. You might want to check them out. Btw, They are now getting prepped for their 10th Anniversary Concert on 1/9/2023 in Tokyo, their largest solo venue (8K seating) to date. I suspect it will be recorded like this classic Shibuya concert. I've been to 5 of the shows and the only thing I regretted was not going to all of the shows, because each show has it own unique qualities in the fandom (got to meet new fans), setlists, and atmosphere, Po! Great reaction, Sir! 🦍
At 3:15 - MISA, the bassist, Kanami the lead guitarist and composer, and Miku the rhythm guitarist and founder of the band, are playing Hengao - "strange faces" - with Akane the drummer, which is making funny faces to try and put someone off. Akane, of course, laughs along while not missing a beat. It shows the ladies' confidence in each others' abilities that they can fool around like this while all of them slam out note-perfect Rock at full tilt. At 3:55 - MISA the bassist is holding her plectrum in her curled finger so she can produce it and switch from slapping to picking in half a nanosecond - skills! At 5:44 - a brief glimpse of Kanami laying down one sweet rolling chord pattern - pure class. THE best live Rock band on Earth. And beyond. 🤘🤘 There are some other songs from this same performance available: PLAY ( ua-cam.com/video/3LxX_t4vg7U/v-deo.html ), which was the song before Domination and so segues into it nicely, FREEDOM ( ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html ), which has a banging drum solo from Akane, and WONDERLAND ( ua-cam.com/video/x4hxLeHbqZo/v-deo.html ), which really showcases Saiki's vocal skills. There's also a wonderful 14 song acoustic set from last year which is worth hunting down but there is one song from it available on Band-Maid's YT channel - Sayonakidori (which means ‘Nightingale’ and translates, very beautifully as SA (small) YO (night) NAKI (singing) DORI (bird)) - ua-cam.com/video/sGzAQigaL14/v-deo.html . It features vocals by just Miku (the absolutely ridiculously beautiful one on rhythm guitar who created the band and writes the majority of their lyrics) and is a jaw-dropper.
I love to say it, but I told you so! Once you go live, it's hard to go back! Play, Freedom and Onset (instrumental) are kind of the natural progression to ultimately blow your mind, but if you want to go down the path less taken, check out Turn Me On, Take Me Higher and Puzzle from their Studio Coast show. They are all what I call "show off" songs because they are absolutely INCREDIBLE, with lots of bass Solos, guitar shredding and bass/guitar battles!! Thanks again!🤘🤩🤘
"INFLUENCER" is Band-Maid's newest MV that I highly recommend. That would leave 120+ more tracks to try and find something that wont put a smile on your face.....impossible. Some live recordings I also recommend,......"Moratorium" and/or "Freedom"....well shit....any live video. If you want to see versatility...Manners/Black Hole. Band-Maid is a genre unto itself..... so never make assumptions on what you "think" the next song will sound like because you will be surprised.
So many reactors became the Maidiacs just because they reacted to this group. They also produced the merch of this band and attended the concert of their tour. let's see if you are going to become a Maidiac and join the group as others.

With over one hundred songs and counting you cannot pick a bad song. At least I haven't found one yet. You could check out "Thrill" live if you want next. Or just choose a different song. Go wild. We're here to watch you fall into the Pigeon Hole. Miku, the rhythm guitarist, is so happy to be a rock star. Her enthusiasm makes up for any deficiencies she has as a guitarist. And those deficiencies are diminishing by the day. She's the band founder and she is awesome. Don't sleep on Miku. She's looks all sweet and innocent but she's a beast under that facade. Was fun to watch. You can't help but smile when Band-Maid takes the stage. Arigatou, Po!
Freedom live. Onset live. From Now On (most current instrumental, not live). Bass player Misa plays mostly with a pick but can tuck it away in her index finger and switch to slap bass and back instantly. For parts of the song she thinks need the slap sound she will switch.
@@TomClark-Futoura Can i still call you Tom, Futoura? Actually that's an entire cool name. Nope we don't celebrate it here but i know it's an important occasion so i hope you have a wonderful time. Plus i know what a great cook you are.😋
To see how good they are live, watch the fan-cams from their US tour. They have complete control of their music from creation to the order the songs on the album. Oh, the audience sing along with them in Japanese even in US and Europe!!
FREEDOM!!!!!!😂😂😂 Thank you for your reaction. Was waiting for it for days😂😂😂... loved it, since they play multiple genres, Freedom is more of pop rock type i guess.. it's kind of thing now.., after domination, Freedom always goes next, then PLAY live, Onset and so on. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 BTW... MISA(bass) uses both pick and Fingerstyle/slap. She is pretty neat with tucking her pick between her fingers.
Great reaction! Saw them live a few weeks ago and they were AMAZING! Watching Freedom Live (ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html) will show you how they like to have fun on stage. And I think you can get a real appreciate for what Misa does on the bass. She is always going all over her fret board but it is never too much and always just enough for the song. But they are all masters of their craft! w00t w00t!
I love your commentary about japanese rock/metal. I learn things I cannot before. Thanks you, continue your cool channel ! PS : Listen Nemophila - Dissenssion ! This band will blow your mind !
The logical next step, before you look into their newer stuff, would be "Play" live. The last note of that song is the first you hear in this video. If you do that, you understand what they put their audience through, especially since the average aged is on the higher side. After that, I suggest the MV for "Rinne" or "Warning". Now you should be ready for their latest EP, called Unleashed. Why not start from the beginning with the first one, the instrumental "From Now On". FYI, they are also amazing acoustic!
I think I might have been the first to suggest you listen to them, I’m so glad you are getting to them!! Akane is such a great drummer. Jimmy Paige saw them and went to meet her as he was so impressed. That’s pretty high praise that he would want to go hang with the band!
Band Maid was my first major concert during their Seattle performance last year and oh my god it was amazing. I spent most of my time in awe knowing that a band ive admired is right in front of me and just the sheer syngery between the band and crowd. Its one thing to see it in a live video and actually experience that energy being exchanged between everyone. Regardless it was an amazing experience. As much as I love their studio albums live is where its at as they shine during their live performances. And Misa uses a pick from time to time but i think she mentioned at one point that she positions the pick cleverly so she transition from picking to slapping.. she palms it pretty smoothly ..
Watch closely. MISA does use a pick, but she can hide it in her hand to slap, and she never drops it. To see Akane play a real, full drum solo do 'Freedom' LIVE next.
Saiki is like a dominatrix, she demands that the crowd respond to her commands. Saiki and MISA are the ones dressed in Gothic. Actually when the group began they all wore similar outfits, then as time went on Saiki and MISA turned Gothic on us. Most often MISA and Kanami are doing their solos at the same time. As usual Band-Maid is Jimmy Page approved!
Turn Me on or Play(for more Misa Bass) . Real Existence for high energy song, Heavy instrumental From Now On. Love you reaction vids..Keep up the Awesome Band Maid rabbit hole!!
You are on the japanese rock music trip ? Maybe you are interested in something beefier than Band Maid ? Real Heavy Metal with depessingly good guitarplay, great vocals, superb drummer, nicely dressed in wedding gowns and heels (nothing in black). Try the "Lovebites" Something with a wall of sound: "Holy War" or "Thunder Vengeance" or the galloping "Set the World on Fire" a (little) bit calmer "Swan Song with Copin intro", "Epilogue" or "Frozen Serenade" all life.
Some people wonder why the instrumentalists gathered around the drummer in the middle of the song. Sometimes bands do that if they need to deal with some problems. Maybe they have to figure out how to work around something. Or maybe it's a part of the song where they need to see each other to stay in sync... No. They actually gathered around the drummer to pull faces at her, trying to make her crack up and miss a beat. That's Band-Maid. Some people still think it's "just fanboys making dumb claims", but there is a reason why so many people unironically say that Band-Maid might as well the best hard rock band founded in the last decade or two. They have albums on top of albums of this.
As a fellow musician and reactor, I can only recommend you to try "Onset" Live for the next one. Full instrumental track live which showcast their talent in a very cool way.
You might want to take a look at influencer. Or from now on, which is an instrumental. It's their most recent stuff ... And the musicianship is absolutely mind boggling.
Jimmy Page saw this band, and really liked the drummer so much, he compared her to the second coming of you know who... John Bohnam. What kind of endorsement is that?? They are sooooo great!!
Apparently Jimmy Page was at one of their concerts and after the show he came backstage to speak to Akane the drummer and told her she was one of the best drummers he had ever heard play. And I don't need to tell you who that dude was in a band with.
You ain't seen nothin' yet man. Please continue with their live performances. Try the 'Manners/Black Hole' two for one video. Misa owns both songs on the bass For a really special 'Akane' drum solo experience, try 'Freedom' live. You will see why she is affectionately known as 'The Gorilla'.
One thing that the Maids haven't had any experience of much are stadium shows. We're talking 20-60 thousand seaters in a soccer stadium. Perhaps they will eventually get there, to stadium gigs, much like the super rock bands of yesteryear. And even BTS, as you are already aware. Line Cube Shibuya is only a 2 thousand seater. Some fans have said that they will be worried that once the Maids get onto stadium-sized gigs, they might lose the intimacy of being closer to the band with a smaller capacity audience in a smaller venue. We as fans cannot dictate where this band will go, otherwise we would be limiting their growth. They can always go back & forth between large & small venues. I would faint if Hybe Corporation would be able to acquire Band-Maid, because Hybe would surely set the bar much higher (bar maid pun?). But as of right now, the fanbase is still small enough that they will continue to go to these smaller venues, whether it's only 500 or 5 thousand capacity. With 3 reactions in your pocket now, hopefully you will continue to react to more of their music on your "maiden" voyage.
The bassist MISA uses a pick. She proves that using a pick is the correct way to do it. Her bass sounds better than everyone else. So she's doing it right.
She plays with a pick here, but also plays fingerstyle if the song requires it (the whole online acoustic show as an exemple) and of course slaps better than Will Smith at the Oscars.
I won't suggest "Domination" to the people who haven't listened to band-maid before. In case that if they found "Domination MV" and then many people came to "correct" them. I feel it is very annoying for some people. I suggest "freedom" instead, because there is no MV for it, all they can find is live version but it can also show the skill and smile of band-maid.
Freedom and Play from this same concert are a must,
This was the second to last song of a 23 song concert that lasted over 2 hours. And as you can see, The Ladies keep the energy up throughout their concerts. They take all the energy the crowd gives them, and channels it back into their performance.
Band Maid...there is NO substitute...🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂

@@GaryHolloway-810 🙏😌 I will read your comment as I give thanks and eat turkey. Do you guys celebrate Thanksgiving?
@@zolitoth2458 😁 i was saying exactly the same thing to Tom yesterday....🤔or was it caps lock for BAND-MAID :)
They always have the most amazing energy in their concerts
Awesome 😎 love band maid there music is so amazing
Drumm Solo ? Freedom Live is a must do.
But they are all masters of their craft! w00t w00t!
The hype was justified 👊😁🤘🤘🤘
Band maid - Freedom from the same tour. Will blow your mind dude.. btw great reaction, love it 🤘
What a difference a Live makes eh.
I think I might have been the first to suggest you listen to them, I’m so glad you are getting to them!! Akane is such a great drummer. Jimmy Paige saw them and went to meet her as he was so impressed. That’s pretty high praise that he would want to go hang with the band!
Man, please listen to Real Existence live. You won't regret it!
Next suggestions - play live MV, onset live MV or Booming official video.
I would suggest watching Play. It was the song right before Domination from this concert. Freedom from this concert is also a great one to watch.
Just so you know bro, you HAVE to do Moratorium live now lol
Nemophila next!
Try the "Lovebites"
Something with a wall of sound: "Holy War" or "Thunder Vengeance" or the galloping "Set the World on Fire"
a (little) bit calmer "Swan Song with Copin intro", "Epilogue" or "Frozen Serenade" all life.
Here's a few suggestions (all live): Freedom, Play, Manners, Black Hole. That should keep you busy for a bit.
As a fellow musician and reactor, I can only recommend you to try "Onset" Live for the next one.
Full instrumental track live which showcast their talent in a very cool way.
Akane, the happiest drummer ever!
Cool!. Good job John.
BEST HARD ROCK BAND TODAY. (Maybe best ever?)
Misa owns both songs on the bass
For a really special 'Akane' drum solo experience, try 'Freedom' live. You will see why she is affectionately known as 'The Gorilla'.
Check out their live performance of Freedom for a better drum solo.
NOW you know.....
Checkout inset for an instrumental
redbull has nothing on them
Miku gives them wiiings 🕊
GET SOME HEDPHONES!!!!!
@@realdocloco A magic touch...if she slapped Jada, her hair would grow back 🤣
I won't suggest "Domination" to the people who haven't listened to band-maid before. In case that if they found "Domination MV" and then many people came to "correct" them. I feel it is very annoying for some people. I suggest "freedom" instead, because there is no MV for it, all they can find is live version but it can also show the skill and smile of band-maid.
