    One small detail ill add is that inverters come in 2 types modified sine wave (cheap) and pure sine wave (a bit more money). Its best to get a PSW inverter for running sensitive or more costly home appliances such as laptops, microwaves etc

      @@trevortrevortsr2 There's a lot to think about. Very useful info. Thank you. It takes a fair bit of digging to find info and then it's ambiguous for anyone who hasn't done an electrical principles course or there's data missing from specifications.
      It annoys me that battery specification don't state their max amp output for max recommended time, before internal resistance becomes a heat problem.

    As a simple rule, to calculate how long a 12v deep-cycle battery will last with an inverter multiply battery amp-hours (Ah) by 12 to find watt-hours, and divide by the load watts to find run time hours. Finally, multiply run time hours by 95% to account for inverter losses

    • @stellarandrews9538
      @stellarandrews9538 4 роки тому +1

      Rob I’d say “no” because some microwaves actually startup at a higher wattage. For example 800 watt cooking equals 1600 watts inverter roughly.
      A 110 life4po Battery will give you mins. Much safer at discharging higher amps.. you’ll also get a slight whine using a modified sign wave inverter. In my experience pure wave is better.

Also will I need some kind of converter......I did notice "Bass Pro" had some that was multipurpose...but I'm still kinda lost to all this.

      Hi John, we have tried many different setups to get a microwave to work from a 12v battery and found this to be the best. As for LED lighting, so long as its 12v, a standard 12v leisure battery would be fine without an inverter. To run a computer / Laptop you would need a 300 watt inverter conectected to again a standad 12v leisure battery. Hope this helps.

      Hi Cyti if the system is going into a motorhome or campervan we would be charging the battery using a votronic battery to battery charger which charges the 2nd battery whilst driving the vehicle and when you can hook the vehicle up to mains power we would recommend a Numax battery charger.

      Hi Aidan, I wouldn’t recommend connecting an inverter to your vehicle battery especially a high powered one as it will drain your van battery very quickly to a point that you won’t be able to start your engine. Alway try and connect to a second battery that can be charged from your vehicle.

    Hello, I would like a setup like this, but I haven't bought an inverter yet. Would you expect this to work with any leisure battery over 100AH? I've got a SuperBatt DT120 120AH battery. I've noticed recently when I use my 45watt laptop charger the battery voltage drops to around 11v. I'm worried that the battery isn't going to be able to maintain a high enough voltage when it's having 600watt drawn from it?? Don't want to waste a lot of money on an inverter if it isn't going to work. What are your thoughts?
